This sounds really great, please keep us updated!

If most of the changes are included, can you list which are not?
The difference between the original version of Gran Turismo 5 and the Evolution Mod are massive in terms of total available of race events available. From 54 in total on the base version with most of them being only single races to 69 in Evolution Mod with many of them being championship events.

Might be easier to do this with a patch like in GT4 than through directly modding the game files, but I'm not really capable of either, sorry.
Not asking you to do this as it's your mod, but hypothetically, could you work around coding by piggy backing the race mod technique where it simply replaces the car you currently have in the game with a different car created with the swapped engine (and maybe drive train too)?

From my understanding the race mod function is in principle just a simple swap mechanic, it removes the original car from your garage and adds the different race mod version of the car in.

A new car has been added to the game, the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX /Tuned, seen in Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, and restored from the GT5 UK 1609 QA build.
Does the original game's code already include this car?Is there any possible to restore any other unused content?

Yes, that would be possible, but it would come with some limitations. One car would only ever have one engine swap that would be pre-determined by me, and whatever car I chose for engine swaps wouldn't have an actual racing modification, so I'd have to choose between a racing modification or an engine swap, but functionally, it would be as simple as creating dupes of cars within the SpecDB with an engine swap and point them to the racing modification feature. It is not something I will do, as I've chosen the other direction of adding more racing modifications instead.

No, this car is not included in Gran Turismo 5, it is completely new to the final game. It was possible to add it because its model was present in the GT5 UK 1609 QA build, a pre-release version of Gran Turismo 5 meant for quality assurance with lots of unfinished content. I believe there's nothing else to add that GT5 Evolution and the Master Mod haven't already added, as the model formats change a lot during development and any earlier demos or releases have incompatible model formats.

Just wondering, Erik, since I recall having seen you say that the debug menu would be available, is it possible to use it to change newly obtained used cars' KM/Miles to 0? This would help me keep track of my cars' distance (I have some obsession with car KM/Mileage) driven as I love to start with 0 to not struggle to remember.

No, it is not possible to use the developer menu to reset the car's KM to 0.

The very fast transmission that the 1990 Fiat Panda Super i.e. had was corrected! It was incorrect!! and had nothing to do with Gran Turismo 4 or its real model.

hello, i have an idea on how to increase the endurance league to 12 events without it feeling too grindy/like clutter. what if the first three events in the endurance events were like a bridge between the ~20 minute extreme events and the shortest endurances that are like 2 hours long? like a few ~60 minute events - e.g. a high speed ring 60 minute race with economy cars. i think it would be cool to have something inbetween the extreme and endurance events - but of course it's just a suggestion! the mod is already looking spicy with all of the changes!

True, I should add some more lower level Endurances, thanks for the suggestion.

Like "Nijigasaki High School Idol Club Prototype Endurance Race Challenge" (3 hours Race at Apricot Hill Raceway or Fuji 1990s)? That could be so cool to add one of these Endurance race events like 60 minutes to 3 hours Endurances on GT5 evolution mods! 😉

Nah, I'm good. I'll add an Endurance at High Speed Ring, one at Eiger Nordwand and one at Special Stage Route 5, all with slower cars and shorter lengths to serve as entry points in Endurance racing. You seem really interested in adding this event to a mod, you've asked it here and in Lunard's GT6 Career Mod, maybe you'll have more luck learning how to mod the game yourself and doing it on your own, there are guides in Nenkai's GT Modding Hub website.

Yes because i am a diehard fan of both Nijigasaki High School Idol Club and Gran Turismo as a whole! So adding this specific Endurance race onto Gran Turismo 5 evolution mods can be very revolutionary! 😉

I have been working on expanding the racing modification feature, and the results are as follows: 290 cars can now be racing modified with 110 unique outcomes (the discrepancy comes from all the dupes the game has). This feature was very underutilised in the vanilla game, with only 17 cars being racing moddable.
Can the racing modification be applied to standard models?

You gotta keep your fantasies in check for these types of mods please. And as Erik said, you can mod it in yourself.

I hope, if these Endurances are modded in, if possible, could have day-to-night time lapse. I recall having seen that you added a time-lapse to High Speed Ring and Eiger Nordwand.

Of course, it's just me. You don't need to add them if you don't feel like it. Edit: Would the Special Stage Route 5 have a good ol' retro name like "SSR5 All-Night"?

Nice to hear that! Are there other courses that have the day-to-night cycle? If so, I feel like they also deserve lower level endurance races. If there ever is the technology for it and if you can, will you be able to make even the PS2/PSP tracks have the day-to-night cycle?
