Gran Turismo 7 “Spec 4” Mentioned in Invitation-Only PlayStation Survey

I dream of a "spec 4" version dedicated solely to the PS5, finally free from the PS4 code and all its limitations, to give a true taste of GT8, a real next-gen version. A DLC bringing new challenges, hill climbs, DTM, a Japanese midday nightclub, more Sophy, and realistic dynamic weather that reflects the location in real time.

I would like them to add the update cars to the existing/older event grids. They did that with Spec 2, but not Spec 3, which was a bummer.

Spec 3 in general felt like there was a lot less love in it than Spec 2. Slapped in some content all at once to make it seem bigger but nearly every change advertised was superficial. I still think Seasonal Menu Books are borderline insulting and the enhanced weeklies are seen what, once a month.

I think they need to expand a lot on what's there. I'd love to see weather in more tracks, some more QoL improvements for lobbies, more car/track Sophy support, stuff like that. Flesh it all out.

Content wise I just want them to add Shuffle Racing back. It's not much to ask!

Bring back some of the old circuits including Complex String, would love to see an R33 GTST, more tuner varieties, MCR, Veilside, Top Secret etc. We need more player levels, 70 isnt high enough, also maybe increase the weekly races to 7 or 10. Oh and bring back grid starts! None of this rolling start at the back and try to catch up rubbish, we want real racing with closer matched cars.
This always chasing the fox approach with a set PP limit but I'm clearly in a higher spec, faster car bores me.

For me, it's car roster that makes me return to the game. So, to make GT7 more interesting, I would welcome nice new Legendary cars to collect! That's something I would be willing to pay for as DLC.

Circuit-wise, give us something extraordinary, like Goodwood hillclimb, Moon :D and Circuito de la Sierra were in GT6!

I'd like to see several things. First, more events, whether races or time trials, that take place at night and in variable weather. As a PSVR2 player, I'd also like a button to toggle all the information about both the car and the race for better immersion, similar to how you toggle the ghost car in the licenses. Also, online car sharing between friends. Cheers!

Sounds like it's still in the early stage, maybe nothing more than a new folder.

But anyway, it's good to hear they're still thinking about new content in GT7. I still remember when PD was developing GT7 and stopped the content updates for GTS.

I personally think a Daily race D could be an interesting option. It could be a race of around 1~ hour and maybe have new mechanics like DNF due to terminal damage and safety cars (we do have a few in game so why not use it??). Although, I don’t know how this mechanic could be implemented due to the dirty driving issue but maybe having the race only available to fully licensed driver (all gold) with S safety rating and B and over driver rating could help? I also think the terminal damage could lead to safer/cleaner driving…

Better split screen car selection.

Endurance races that are not 24 hours.

More normal cars, particularly 90's american cars

Seems like now is a good time to remind people that, if they actually want new content/features rather than making noise into the void, we have a Car and Track Wishlist thread:

And the Suggestions forum which Polyphony Digital originally asked us to set up:

I wonder if it might include "super premium" enhanced weekly events as the "premium" enhanced weekly events are so disappointing they've actually REDUCED my time spent playing GT7.

I don't like that the survey conflates "all online racing" with "Sport Mode exclusively" as if lobbies aren't a thing people participate in. That exact mentality is what has led to the complete stagnation of lobby features ever since the release of GT Sport, despite the fact that lobbies are essentially the infinite endgame people are looking for.

Just having some more specific restriction options would open up much more potential for close racing, and it wouldn't even be difficult to implement. Spec III introduced some great improvements in that regard but I'm not keen on waiting for massive game-wide overhauls just for some basic QoL features.

This is the discussion thread for an article on GTPlanet:

Gran Turismo 7 “Spec 4” Mentioned in Invitation-Only PlayStation Survey

Users in the GTPlanet forums have reported receiving an invitation to a PlayStation survey over the past few days, and some of the questions it contains are raising eyebrows...
I would like to see offline full game. I have collected over 450 cars types and have over 1000 cars in my garage. I have played over 2000 hrs. I have played Gran Turismo 1 through 7 and still enjoy the early additions on my BWD PS3 versions 1 through 6. I have Gran Turismo Sport but many of the features don't work. Like the livery editor. You can't even repaint your cars. But you can race offline. I want version 7 to support offline completely.

Personally, what I would like to see would be more suitable to GT8 than a Spec 4 update, as I'd like to see a proper return to classic GT style game play, not the weird GAAS interpretation of it with the tight economy, lack of prize cars and focus on single races without grid starts that we got in GT7. Which is more of a whole new game than an update.
