Are you 🤬 ing kidding me? Talking about a GT7 release before GT6 is even in the disc drive?

PD has now collaborated with Jalopnik. This means we get all the Volvo 240s, Utes and Country Squires you want and need in your life.

We get classic variations of Sarthe, Spa, Monza and the Ring.

Translator-san makes a prominent appearance in the storyline, he's also a playable character.

We get classic F1 cars.

Fully modeled damage in which you can break the car in two.

Special guest appearance by Rither Sanchez, from Super Replicas.

The UI is so fast you can race 14 seconds after booting up the game.

GT3 was the fastest released GT game (about 1.7 years from GT2's release), and that was a generation leap game. 1 year seems very pre-mature....I could believe 2 years, but 1 year would be a GT record. Maybe the Call of Duty effect is more potent than ever!
 
Half of what he says is either a lie or a misleading sentence.
 
I'll believe it when I see it. Until then, I'll be playing GT6 and drooling all over the new Benz concept.
 
I too would honestly feel more comfortable waiting until at least 2015. One year wouldn't seem like enough time to enjoy GT6 to the fullest. Even Forza doesn't release a new game in one year. (Not counting Horizon because that's not made by Turn 10.)

That being said, this is Kaz we're talking about. I don't believe GT7 will be ready in a year, even if the PS4 is easier to work on.
 
Odd for them to bring this up yet they drop the tie between them for Forza.

Also, im not surprised because, after all, GT6 is releasing on a dieing system. PS4 is the best option for future sales so im gonna say........no spec 2.0 next year!
 
And Kaz is not a best case scenario developer. He is obsessive; Mr. Attention to every detail, whether it matters or not. He is an eccentric middle-aged man. 1 year will not be achieved, and it probably shouldn't be strived for. Patience is a virtue, well maybe not on these forums lol :p
 
i doubt it will really come out 2014 already, that would be much too early. though 2015 would be a good time i think. then there would be enough time for a GT8 too on the PS4
 
GT7: Winter 2015. (I think it won't feel totally complete as GT5 did, but they'll want to get it onto the platform sooner rather than later so that they can fit in a second game before the PS5 is released.)

If there's a GT8, I'd say it's release date will be dependent on what needs to be changed from GT7, when the next-gen console is set for release and what the plans are of the opposition.

Am I looking too far ahead now? I wonder if Gran Turismo will reach double-digits... :sly:
 
If you guys ask me this has plenty to do with Sony/Nissan/PD's integrated marketing program.

GT Academy is due back in Australia (and PLEASE New Zealand as well) in the next 18 months according to this respected news source - http://www.speedcafe.com/2013/10/24/nissan-driver-academy-set-australia/ - it can't be too far-fetched to speculate that they'll tie some sort of GT7 demo with the PS4 when GT Academy 2015 comes around the corner...

...it's just a bit of a pain in the a*** how I've already got all this gear ready for the competition and I'll have to get myself a new console and maybe sign up to PS Plus with a monthly fee just to compete *sigh*.
 
PD NEEDS to be able to put one new game each two years. The market works that way and nobody could stand the five/six years window between GT4 and GT5.

And by looking to the competition on XBONE, I really looking forward to play GT7 in december of 2014.
 
Funny how the Top Gear writers think Kaz is still racing the IS-F.

Anyway... yeah, I'm hoping GT7 won't come out that early. Mainly because they can't get away with standards on the PS4 and modelling an adequate amount of Premiums is going to take a while. I'm sure the PS4 is so easy to program for that they can do the programming stuff much faster but they should use the remaining time and resources on adding more content instead of releasing the game right away.

If it's going to release in 2014 at all, then it will be about then, I think. When Kaz says "coming in 2014" he doesn't mean Q1-3.

Calm yoself! :) I saw the news/post and felt it was important enough to post here on GTP. I mean, if Kaz is already talking about GT7, it can't be too far off (for better or worse). I think it's clear the Sony wants Gran Turismo on the PS4 as soon as possible, so as others have mentioned, a Prologue-like game makes sense.

EDIT: I'm personally still hoping for at least a Gran Turismo demo for the PS4 sometime next year. Not a full release, but at least a demo.

Sure, would be impossible to get the game earlier.

Let's just hope that, being a Sony studio, PD had early access to PS4 hardware to start the development of the new game.
 
I remember PD was developing GT6 when GT5 was launched so it does not surprise me that GT7 is underway right now. I would be surprised if GT7 launches in 2014. I personally hope it does not launch that soon. We know the GT series is a legitimate system mover which would benefit PS4 sales, but I'd rather PD take their time and deliver a stellar product.

I don't doubt that at all, so the chances are they've already been working on GT7 for at least six months already, if not a year, and all the new cars/tracks in GT6 as well as DLC from GT6 will be in GT7 from launch, so already GT7 even without standards will have so much more on offer from launch than GT6 (i.e. GPS stuff and the other "In an Update" features).

I just hope that they overhaul all the tracks and lay to rest all the PS2 assets this time.

My point about the tracks is this. Look at the environment, much more detailed and vivid.

There was news about gt6 before gt5 released.It happens.I think this is just to reassure everyone that we wont have a 5 year wait like we did between gt4 and gt5.
That being said, I wouldn't mind a gt6 special edition or GT7 prologue next year for ps4.I do think its possible to make a full new game by next year because the architecture of the PS4 is easier to work with than the PS4 and I assume they have been working on it for awhile ( all the technical stuff), but I would rather get full enjoyment out of GT6 first.

I sat next to Stig on track once. He spoke to me in morse code, I think. He's very good, I like the way he drives. He drives more like a street racer than a track racer, the way he controls the car, letting it slide. I like his style. "But I think he was more nervous that I was in the car with him

A Prologue to GT7 will be one of the biggest mistakes Sony has done with the GT title next to allowing the software being hacked. Plus there is now need for one at all, with the new programming tools and algorithm programs software development has been cut in half. And with GT7 being released in 2014 will be even a bigger mistake due to GT6 being released on the PS weeks after the PS4 was released. If this was their intended plan to release GT7 soon after the release of the PS4 then why did they wait so long to release GT6 or GT5. They should have just skipped GT5 and went right to GT6.

5.5 million + copies of GT5 Prologue, might have a factor in what they decide to do. If, and it is if they release a Prologue for 7 and they shift half of what 5 sold, then that is money in the bank, and buys PD breathing space.
 
5.5 million mistake is not worthy of a GT7 Prologue. There is now reason to have the same mistake with GT6 or GT7 as they did with GT5.
 
Don't forget this is PD we are talking about.
 
Add some more tracks, some more PREMIUM cars and dump the GT4 cars entirely, change the GUI, go nuts with single player events, resolve the sound issue, dial back up whatever needed to be dialed down so the PS3 wouldn't melt down, DONE!

For many of us, there really aren't many games to play on PS4 until a GT game is released to justify purchasing it. Sure my kids want to play some games. Yes, there will be gsmes to kill the time while waiting for GT. I've been "testing" my cousin's PS4 before I ship it too him. NFS, I'm not impressed with at all. The free to play games do nothing for me. I suck at shooters, so I have no enjoyment from Battlefield 4. I don't feel that "gotta have it" anxiety anymore.

With the PS3, nothing really satisfied me until GT5p released. The wait was pretty agonizing. GRID, MotorStorm, NASCAR and other games didn't really scratch that itch quite right.

I think PD is in a better position to release a PS4 game than SMS is with PCARS, in a year from now.

Aside from the length development time, please enlighten me as to what this "mistake" was. In the business world, 5+ million copies of ANYTHING sold is bank, simple as that. And honestly, if a PD does decide to release a GT7: Prologue, and it sells 2-3 million, that money right there likely just covered ALL of GT7's (and possibly 6's) development costs. A GT7:P also allows PD to get the game out there for fans and get feedback for the full game (for a 2015 or 2016 release?). I don't see how it is a mistake, especially when PS4 owners deserve a quality racer, even if it's only GT7:P.
