Custom races haven’t been touched in any way as far as I can see…
Except for one minor thing: Slipstream Off

Which I just tried. Did a 15 lapper at Suzuka with my GT4 series and put a few cars up front that are known to hold up the field. And they did exactly that. It took me ~8 laps to get from 12th to 1st, and then I spend the last part of the race slowly pulling away from 2nd. (Rabbit car was in use) Finished several seconds ahead.

Then I set the race to 10 laps and removed slipstream.

To my surprise, the Mustang and Genesis Coupe that were holding up the field in the first race, slowly pulled away and the top 5 or 6 cars spread out a little so there was space between them. In this race I started 10th and barely managed to catch the Mustang at the end to finish side by side at the line. There might be something here with the no slipstream, but there wasn't a whole lot of passing going on so it might take some BOP experimenting to correct that.

I’ll have a look at Slip Stream, cheers for pointing that out.

I must admit, I haven’t tested every option, just the obvious wish list changes, news cars, tracks etc.

Custom racers are always bottom of the list of things to do….but we are on the list! Haha…I think..

I've been having fun with the power pack, HOWEVER, I think Sophy 2.1 custom mode drives much better and feels more realistic. The field spread isn't massive, and overall races just play more balanced. I also think the challenge is higher yet fair.

Some of us here have recently perceived small changes in 2.1 Sophy behavior. I don't think we are all in our heads. Something was done and races do feel better.

It's very annoying that we still can't do anything except a one-make for certain cars. It would be nice to at least allow "choose from garage" even if it's still limited to the same cars, so we could at least use liveries.
Quick example: Thought about making a go kart cup with current F1 grid. You find liveries for each team in showcase but there's no way to actually do this.
I was really hoping PD would address things like this before they work on a paid DLC.

In the GT4 race I did last night, I didn't really notice any difference.

But yes, I had much more fun doing those 2 quick races last night at Suzuka than I have so far in the Power Pack. Where Sophy 3.0 likes to dive bomb and move you out of the way far more than 2.1.

Hey guys, I have been following this thread for a while, and it has been a great resource for finding cool facts about the Custom Race feature.

However, I recently hit a bit of a wall. I found myself wanting to set up a quick Custom Race but spending more time deciding on the car and track combo than actually driving. I ran out of fresh ideas and kept falling back on the same familiar favorites. To solve this, I built a simple web tool to generate random event specifications for me. I thought it might be useful for others here who want a fresh challenge without the decision fatigue.

Here's the link to the page: https://gt7-random-event-gen.vercel.app

It essentially acts as a prompt for your next race. It generates a vehicle, a specific track layout with compatible weather and time of day. It has been refreshing so far, forcing me to drive cars I have neglected for a good while.

Hopefully, this helps some of you when you are looking for a quick race but do not know what to pick. Let me know if you get any interesting combinations.

This is awesome! Really nice design too.
