Hello there, my BoP for the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2015 x Sophy 2.1 is finally ready !
Although it isn't perfect, especially for the LMGTE field, this is by far the best result I had so far.
So here it is !

24 Hours of Le Mans 2015 : LMP1 x LMGTE :

  • This BoP was made and tested under version 1.65 / Spec III.
  • You must use Sophy 2.1, this BoP is probably unbalanced for Reggie.
  • Specifically made for La Sarthe with chicanes.
  • A rabbit is mandatory if you drive into the top class of your race (tune sheets for a rabbit available further down).
  • No rabbit is needed if you are driving into LMGTE category and LMP1 are racing too, they are the rabbits.
  • Regarding the settings, what has been modified is written in cyan blue. The parts to be equipped are indicated.
  • All cars have Ballast and Power Restrictor equipped. They won't be useful every time, but it's always good to have them.
  • Pick whatever car you want to race with, trying to be close to both AI's rhythm, top speed & fuel economy (data available with the BoP).
  • You are not obliged to use these settings for yourself, they are intended for Sophy 2.1.
  • Numbers like lap time / fuel economy may change significatively depending on the wind strength & direction, and being or not into the slipstream of an other car (most of the tests were made with Equal Conditions Mode).
  • Be careful, Sophy moves to the left and loses time before the braking point at Ford chicane.

  • Avoid Race Type : "Lap", Sophy is bad when it comes to compute fuel needed for the last lap. It may pit twice or go out of fuel.
  • Race Type : Endurance (highly recommended)
  • Start Type : Rolling Start (highly recommended)
  • Rolling Start Interval : as you wish.
  • BoP : None (mandatory, of course)
  • Boost : Weak (mandatory)
  • Slipstream Strength : Weak (recommended). Realistic equals almost no overtake in LMP1, strong feels caricatural.
  • Mechanical damages : Strong (recommended for the sake of realism but be prepared, the peloton is going to be very, very tight).
  • Tyre Wear Rate : x1 (mandatory)
  • Fuel Consumption Rate : x2 (mandatory)
  • Refueling Speed : 3L/s (recommended)
  • Grip Reduction Off Track : Realistic (recommended)
  • Time / Weather Settings : as you wish.
  • Rivals Selection : Select from Garage (then, Select from Garage => Open and tune everything as you want).
  • Car Category : None
  • Rivals Difficulty : Professional Level (mandatory, but don't worry, you'll even have to downtune your car to be on par with the AI).
  • Penalty Settings : as you wish.

LMP1 :

With Slipstream strength set to weak, the average best lap time observed is around 3:37.250 for LMP1 cars.
Cars racing in front of the pack and are out of the slipstream most of the time will stay 12 laps on track before having to pit for fuel. If they benefit from slipstream, that will help their fuel economy and they will set a 13rd lap.
Maximum speeds are taken without slipstream.

LMGTE :

With Slipstream strength set to weak, the average best lap time observed is around 4:05.250 for LMGTE cars.
Cars racing in front of the pack and are out of the slipstream most of the time will stay 7 laps on track before having to pit for fuel. If they benefit from slipstream, that will help their fuel economy and they will set a 8th lap.
Maximum speeds are taken without slipstream.

LMP2 :

Now let say because you drive a LMGTE you don't need a rabbit in front to muffle rubber banding, you gain one spot for another car. Remove few LMGTE or LMP1 here and there and you could very well insert few "fake LMP2" cars in the middle to add a new layer of excitement to your race.
With Slipstream strength set to weak, the average best lap time observed is around 3:47.000 for this single-make LMP2 category.

Well, you don't need a car that fast if you build an LMGTE grid only, but this one is okay with LMP1.

It's up to you now, have fun ! :gtpflag:

Back with SOOHY and the tyres feel like they have a better connection to the road surface. I’m liking the tyre squeal as well. Before the update there’d be lots of bad behaviour with Camaros swerving down long straights. Now, the cars are more composed. Body roll looks soft, but SOPHY is handling it much better. I might dial front ARB on the Camaros down a click.

Power Pack made me miss custom races more and more so finally got around to test all 6 cars for my DTM grid. All are very drivable and set up for close racing in Sophy 3.0, I reduced the bhp for the Supra just a bit to 363 instead of 368 and made it a bit lighter.

Here are the tunes I use:

BMW
Mercedes Benz
Escort
Supra
Alfa Romeo
R31

I just realize I forgot to add a R32 which i use for other group A races.

Will do, for M3, Escort, 190 I used Praiano's tune, Supra and R31 as well but had to adjust some things especially in downforce and gearing. Think the Supra is the hardest to drive so thats why i turned out quite fast for Sophy since they're better drivers I guess. Alfa was fun to try and make it not to slow on the straight but in corners.

Will send tunes tonight if I can

This afternoon I prepared my LM race for this week-end. I decided to drive a LMGTE car which meant a rabbit wasn't needed anymore. Then I removed two more LMGTE "Am" cars so I had room for three LMP2 cars (I updated my post above accordingly). Just to add a bit of color to this grid.

The power of not playing the "Power Pack" game is I was able to choose a beautiful livery for my beloved car...

I'll post mine as well. I went for VERY aggressive race tunes. Full downforce, 650pp for the Merc and BMW, 660 for the Sierras, and 640 for the Alpha. I'll post a race video as well.

BTW, I came to confirm that Reggie DEFINITELY got an update in 1.65. I did Reggie DTM race at Yas Marina and the top three battle for position. I was stuck midpack.

Hey here are my tunes. Think most are very similar wit other users tunes. I went for this also because it surprisingly keeps up with my WRX Gr. 4 which I use for other touring car events such as BTCC and JTCC.

Everything has been tested on multiple circuits with basically racing versus 19 identical AI cars and see what fastest lap was/total race time and adjust. But sometimes its nice to edit a bit in BHP and weight for balance. Then I did custom races with mix of all 6 cars in 20 car grid and renaming the driver name with starting position to see how much they gained/lost and if that was in balance. So with 3 of each you can see if it was just a lucky race or if all 3 overperformed.

@Bojador Here are my set ups. I go full race, wide body, diffuser, full downforce, increased body rigidity, everything! I target 650pp, but some need adjusting.

IMG-20251211-WA0002.webpIMG-20251211-WA0005.webpIMG-20251211-WA0006.webpIMG-20251211-WA0003.webp

For the Alpha, 635pp or 640pp works. I find 640 a little too much. At 635, the other AI can race it.

Also, engine swaps are fine. I have engine swaps in some of each car just to mix up the performance. I think that I want to replace the BMW's with ones that are not widebody, but that's just me not liking how they look.

Also, IF you choose to add the widebodies. do not add the wide stance. Wide tires are fine, wide stance is not.

Anybody have a good BoP for a GTE/GTLM Gr3 cars?
I’ll be using:
Aston
BMW M6
Corvette
Dodge
Ferrari 458
Porsche

Thanks

PS I know someone has posted some but I cant figure the conversion from their metric to horsepower

Can I ask why not use the game's BoP? Is it to better replicate top speeds and lap times?

Got a pretty efficient capture of rabbit/no-rabbit rubberbanding last night. This happened by accident - will need to grab a couple more pace/safety cars and tune them up on DEFAULT (non-racing) tires, as the increased RH tire wear sent the rabbit to the pits several times in an otherwise no-stop race. What happened was this perfect exposure (specific moment of interest is as I take 1st from leader-in-pit/spectated AI passes pit entry, and comparing where on straight this AI hits 150mph):

In real time, it took another corner or two for them to be on my butt. Spooked me! A wheel in the dirt and missed braking point later and I was back in 7th! Reggy is great here; I was slightly faster (as evidenced by the gap at the start of the video) but couldn’t scrape any places back after another turn 1 tussle slowed progress.

Pretty fun challenge, and easy to recreate, if interested! BAC Mono One-Make (garage-filled grid but default tunes), drop to 90 on user’s Power Restrictor during pre-race. Humbling, after I’d beaten Sophy at Bathurst and Interlagos using the same grid (no power cut, of course).

I'm curious about this rabbit thing. Is this being used with or without Sophy? With or without boost?

Just wondering because my races have natural rabbits (cars that build a lead). I've tried with extra fast cars and see no difference.
