I wonder if the one-year anniversary update is going to be this month, or possibly in late March, which would be a few weeks after GT7's initial release date?

Updates like this, I suspect we will get another update the day(s)/week following the 1.29 update, not really believing the PSVR2 update will go off without a hitch.

There are features, and potential new content, that needs to be in this 1.29 update for the World Series events.

Not the greatest example, as Nenkai pointed out that race was supposed to be on one of the shorter NGP layouts.
So, we were meant to get only 2 laps around the sprint circuit. It'd be over in 3 minutes. Where's the fun in that?

Well it's a sprint, like the Olympic 100m, only against fifteen 1-year-olds with a 40 second head start; entertaining for someone!

I too hope for more substantial events, like a 1-hour Gr3 race at Nürburgring 24h with the same pay as Spa, and a 4-hour ~550pp road car event at my favourite Type-V.

Honestly, a base payout of 1.25 mil would be a lot better for the 1-hour endurances than the flat 1 mil we've got for Spa. It would give us a possible maximum of 1.875 mil per hour, which is a lot closer to Sardegna and Tokyo than it is right now. A suitably worthy reward for an intense endurance.

I hope this Spec 2 update completely changes the campaign mode of the game to allow for easier additions to championships and endurance races...

What Spec 2 update?????
Ever since GT5 had a Spec 2.0 update after 1 year, people kept expecting it for GT6 and GT Sport but it never happened.
So why do people expect a game changing Spec 2.0 update for GT7?

'Cause of maybe dropping support for PS4 (no further updates)?

Just thinking out 'loud...

People around here love recognizing patterns in things that happened once ;)

We’ll have to wait and see.

Hold your horses there sunshine, some of us still play using PS4 and have no intention of buying PS5 until the price comes down on a second hand machine!!

I don't know why people are so hopeful for some special update for the game's first anniversary. We are talking about PD. You have to understand that if PD sticks with the three car update for March, that in itself is enough to say "this is miracle!".

Because it happened once and thereby it is a pattern.

10% of the time it happens every time... ;)

I don't remember anything special. Just another update, but formally titled "anniversary update". Materially, nothing significant, assorted, voluminous, extraordinary, magnificent etc.

There actually was spec 2 version of GT Sport
GT Sports "Spec 2" wasn't a content update though. It was a new version on disc that contained all the updates to that point (so you didn't have to download them) some free credits and free cars that were already in the game. Other than that all Spec 2 did was update the intro movie.

People are anticipating an "Anniversary Update" and a "Spec 2 Update" based on very little.

My most recent dream told me to expect an XJ220 very soon. This dream also apparently revealed to me that Zandvoort, Sebring, Donington Park and several other tracks have actually been in the game since launch, just without events. So I'm not too sure of its validity. :P

I get the feeling the Clubman 600 event in Nurburgring was supposed to be on the layout discovered in the game files. Someone probably got the excel sheets mixed up.
BTW, is there a way to see all races involved in event type, Clubman 600 as exampre, in a single page, or you need to search for them browsing the circuits?

Let me guess. Someone entered a white XJ220 with a wing in one of the WTC 800 events? 👀

Surprisingly not. It did have a wing, but it was green and maxed out at 900+ hp. I think it was on High Speed Ring.

Unlike all the other European Clubman Cup 600 events, this race actually features a 20 car grid, where you start all the way from last. If @Suzuki-Cara's theory is true and this race was actually supposed to take place on the currently inaccessible Nurburgring sprint layout, then the length of the race has already been accounted for with the number of laps. Think about it, all the other races in this cup have a total race distance of at least 11.7 kilometers. A two lap race on the sprint circuit would only cover a distance of 7.2 kilometers which combined with the 20 car grid would be completely unreasonable with the suggested 600 PP. Even if the race would only feature the original 12 car grid, it would probably be at least three laps long, more likely four.
