Regarding the invitations discourse, I actually hosted a poll a while back offering a few options as to how the mechanic could be addressed.

Unsurprisingly, most people opted to just scrap the mechanic altogether and let players buy the invitation-only cars at any time. But the rest were torn between Collector Levels, per-car challenges and an all-new brand affinity system.

Personally, if we're sticking to in-game features that already exist, I'd say these cars should be locked behind Collector Levels instead of the roulettes. But if PD can engineer an entire brand loyalty system, I'd go for that choice instead.
They can fix the roulette system by just literally taking out all the credit rewards. Then it’s just parts, cars, and invites

Come off it hahaha,. You can make any car sound useless if you go "ugh. A ferrari GT3 to go with the other 100 group 3 cars." to everything.

There's a market for every car they add. Don't cry to everyone because they don't always cater to you.
You clearly have no clue how the world works. There's a massive difference between adding a car that appeals to 1% of the player base, and a car that appeals to 30% or more. Reality will strike sooner or later, with the playerbase shrinking if they keep delivering these disappointing updates.

Be honest, if they are really able to model 60 cars per year, then they should act like it. If they are "saving content for GT8", then they are purposely keeping out the cars on high demand, to give us the less interesting ones.

If they can't model 60 per year, and what we keep getting, is the best they can do, then maybe someone needs to make decisions as to what should be prioritized to model first.

And you don't know what caters to me. I actually like a lot of types of cars, but given the limited amount we have in the game, and the very small updates, I have priorities when it comes to preferences. So no, I won't sit here and pretend that an update like this, makes up for the lack of certain cars that should have been here day one, like the LFA.

Can't believe people are really out here calling this the worst car pack yet. Ignoring the currently unknown VGT, we've got:
No one called this the worst update yet. Chill. Disappointing? Absolutely, specially after 2 months of nothing, atleast twice the cars would be nice.

An iconic cult classic that perfectly embodies the spirit of old GT (tuning up crapboxes until they can curbstomp race cars)
The spirit of old GT embodies the addition of a few extra pixels and pretend that's something added to the car to make it a race car. Now to make something similar, it takes months to give a normal car a "race car" look. There's a reason why later games, like GT4, didn't do the same. Gaming changed, things evolved.

As for the Citroen DS, it's a cool car, for what it is. Yet, it's nowhere near the top priorities to be added, specially in such a small update.

A classic 911 that fleshes out the Porsche list, and will presumably be excellent fun to drive (not to mention a great candidate for engine swapping)
Sure, it completes even further the 911 collection. Still, the 959 would be far more unique both in the Porsche range, and the game in general. As for being excellent fun to drive, that's subjective, and you could say the same for many cars that weren't added.

A legendary F1 car that I distinctly remember numerous people clamoring for in these forums...
As many people who ask for the Lexus LFA? Numerous people ask for multiple things. It's still just one old F1 car between a trillion other specific (F1) models people asked for over the time. It's not like this Honda was the only one to ever be asked for.

People in this thread when the LFA drops: "Meh. Just another boring supercar. We already have like 4 RCFs. Too much Lexus. Where's my 1997 Vauxhall Astra?" (would be a sick addition tbf)
That's cap. Only a very small minority wouldn't want an LFA in the game. And with the launch of PSVR2, one would think that a car with a cool interior and one of, if not the best sounds ever made, would be a top priority to give the VR and extra edge. But I guess not.

As for the 1997 Opel Astra, why bother with that, when we could have any of the more recent OPC models. The Calibra Touring Car, the Speedster Turbo, the old Opel GT, an Opel Manta 400 or TE2800 are other examples of much better cars than that 1997 Astra.

190E: "eh just another useless 80s sedan with no historical value."
Remember in the GT6/GT Sport days when people were begging left-and-right for the E30 M3 (to the point it got 1000+ votes in the suggestions forum), got the Sport Evo model, and then forgot about it?
You can make any car sound useless if you go "ugh. A ferrari GT3 to go with the other 100 group 3 cars." to everything.
For Gr.3 cars, they would likely get the heat if they're not the latest GT3 cars and their BOP aren't in their favor. (The 2018 GT-R GT3's heat was for being another GT-R.)

crazy how the negative talk went from "BEST BELIEVE THIS IS ONLY A VR2 PATCH. KAZ WILL DISAPPOINT US" then it gets revealed it will acutally have new cars + vr and maybe other things, and people are complaining about the cars
Then they go telling their story that nobody cares about how much they loved Gran Turismo 2 back when they were a child, and now they came back out of nowhere to try GT7, complaining with... cuestionable things, and compare it with other games.

If that is a VGT, I hope it's at most 700 - 750 PP and lower downforce (the latter seeming like it's that case). One of my favorite 700PP cars to drive is the Honda Sports VGT and I wouldn't mind another addition to the "usable VGTs that can hang with normal cars" club.
I'm a big fan of that Honda VGT. It's great around Tokyo for example. And the Lexus VGT is my go-to WTC800 grind car for Sardegna. Some of the VGT cars are quite useful...

The VGT/prototype could maybe be the Genesis one:

That would be so great, than the 911 roster would be complete, wouldn’t it?
Only one remaining to add is the 992 generation 911 but its only a matter of months really.

It all depends on your outlook. I have low expectations of the roulette wheel so anything I get is a bonus. The roulette is pretty artificial anyway. IRL no-one gives the winner of the race a random prize on top of their race winnings.

So... bad design. Thanks for aknowledging it, even if unconsciously.

Sure, you only get one roulette ticket per day. That's not a problem for me because the main rewards in the game come from the races, licenses and missions. Take the roulette away and I'd still play the game.

No one talked about not playing this game because of this roulette. In fact, this roulette system is actually designed so you don't stop playing the game. It doesn't mean it makes it fun though, quite the contrary.

You seem to miss the fact that this roulette has things that are exclusive to them, some of which would be really fun to play with and do testing around, such as engine swaps to make some cool tuned cars.
If this didn't have any exclusivity? I probably would've stopped playing this game a lot more. And really wouldn't care about it... But it has.

I like the way that the game makes some things hard to get.

Nah, you're just an odd one out really.

I also like games that make things hard to get... I however don't like some ways that games make things hard to get. GT7 is part of that, and probably amongst the worst.

Yes, I know the odds ... more or less. I also don't mind those odds.

As I stated... You're an oddity... So it probably is a waste of time arguing anything to you really.

We all approach this differently. If these things bother you then that is your choice. If these things don't bother me that's also my choice.

... Except that talking about things that are badly designed in a game is not about choice. Either they are, or aren't. And no, this isn't about an opinion. An opinion would be yours in saying you don't mind it. But saying it's not bad design, as you did say a few pages ago, is not an opinion. IT IS a bad design. Period.

Anyway, don't bother replying. Won't wast my time with you anymore.

60+ cars per year is quite a sizable team of people and resources ! I was very much under the impression Poly were quite a small team?? Unless they are heavily outsourcing I don't see that as being remotely possible within the confines of a sensible development budget of time vs people - not at the quality we expect from a GT game.

Oh, guaranteed the Honda and Porsche are getting set up by TGC(Tokyo Grind Community) and LM30C(Le Mans 30 minute Crew). :sly:

It's possibly just similar to how they write "contents" in update logs rather than "content".
