I'm clearly not the best Japanese speaker, but I've been living here for 10 years and had a 100点 at the JLPT lv2 listening test many years ago, and I could swear that most Japanese would use both, even if つ is the common use for things you cannot hold, like depicted in this article:

Everything you can count with こ, you can count with つ as well.
こ is used for quite small (physical) objects.

I understand what you're saying, but using つ isn't some lazy foreigner thing here. It's the appropriate way to count most of those unsubstantial things.

Sorry, it was just a joke I used with some friends when I was living there for a bit over a year, it's definitely used a lot by everyone. Usually I used it for mostly everything until corrected, fun way to learn.

No problem, I didn't take it personally, it's common for people learning japanese to use it when they're not at ease with counters. It's quite useful indeed ^^
 
"Big Updates" I interpret as "More than one change/addition will be coming in the upcoming update/patch (singular)."
Rather than hinting that there will be a 2nd content update in the same month.

So the new cars being added count as "an update", VR counts as "an update" , other unknown additions count as "updates" etc.
But all of these "updates" are combined into one actual update patch.
"Additions" is perhaps a more accurate term for what Kaz likely means, rather than "Updates"

If there was to be another update after this one (in the same month), it would just be fixes to bugs caused by the new stuff.

Does that make sense? Hopefully. That's just how I've interpreted what Kaz has said.

Really hoping for a decent amount of new single player events, and not just menu books where you need to buy cars.

Endurance races would be amazing, imagine if there was a series of 300km events, but restricted by class. So there would be a Group 4/3/2/1 or maybe even something to use the Super Formula car in.

I don't think we'll ever get specific events where you have to use a car found in the Legends Dealership, because those cars aren't always available to everyone - so an even just for the McLaren MP4-4 is out of the question. I imagine the b-roll that was sent out with the PSVR2 preview was just a custom race...
 
I dont umderstand why not use custom race? Yeah the win is small and etc. But u can use any car u like in your garage. It is more fun than just whining that there is no use for this and this car. Jdm. F1. Kart. Dtm. Muscle car. Vgt car. They are all there. The game event are just for chasing the rabbit anyway.

Custom races are amazing!
But as you say the payouts are anecdotic, and in a game where you have to grind a lot, having many events with good payouts is important. As for now you've got only 4 races with decent payouts, it would be great to get some more with the next updates.
It would be really cool if you could invite friends in your custom races, or just being able to use them in online lobby too.

Can't wait for some decent endurance races to finally be released as well, I'd have that over more cars and tracks at this point any day!

Well, it’s Kaz’ game. He can do as he wishes. We’re the ones that bought into it.

If we’re only given what we’re given and we choose to continue playing, we make do with the tools available. That’s why.

When one of us make the perfect game, more power to that person. For now, we wait and see what‘s what.
 
What happened? It seems i lost lots of stuff those two days! Who is so kind to do a quick summary? So we are going to have two updates this week? Tuesday and Thursday?

Gran Turismo 7 Update 1.29 Will Be "Big"; Four Cars Confirmed Alongside PSVR2 Support

As we already knew, Gran Turismo 7's v1.29 update will be arriving on February 21 and bring along PlayStation VR2 support for the title (on PS5). However GT series creator Kazunori Yamauchi has now confirmed that it will bring other content -- as expected -- and promises it will be a "big" update.

Think you missed understood what I meant.

I meant the Nur 24 hour track is alot longer then spa and takes alot more work them spa so if it has the same payout why would I do that race over spa a easier track I know its down to reference and all but still.
 
Variety, it's a longer track but a lot of people really enjoy racing on it. Spa is great too, but there would be no reason to be stuck grinding that.

Just don't pass the finish line in the 59th minute.

There are rumors of PSVR2 being delivered before February 22 in Europe and US, so basically, if you receive the headset earlier would you be able to play GT7 in VR from the 21st?

Jordan seemed pretty convinced with GT7 VR, but are you interested in VR and PSVR2 as well?
Have you or Jordan pre-ordered it, will buy it later, or will get it from Sony as specialized jounalsts?

Also, the 「Try! PS VR2」event ended today and we haven't seen anything about it yet. I wonder if the feedbacks video will be included in the main menu of the game after the update, it could be a good idea to showcase the PSVR2 since GT7 has a big community of players!

It would be great to have endurance races with dynamic weather and/or night and day cycle on
most of the tracks! (´﹃｀) (one can hope!)

Sure, the track is longer but the time limit is the same. So it's the same amount of work and time (give or take a few minutes over the line) for the same amount of money.

It being harder or being more work to drive is completely subjective. If I had the choice between the two, I'd take the Nordschleife almost every time.

Yep, no GT7 player will even dare to touch a car that revolutionized suspension travel.

No GT7 player will drive a Porsche that's potentially fun to throw around.

And no GT7 player will buy essentially a blank canvas 60s formula car.

Did I even say that? You kids are delusional, and love to make up your own version of things. :lol:

The real life facts is that the DS will be a niche car, period. Revolutionazing suspension traveling has no bearing on what players use in a racing game. People get blinded by nostalgia, and that has become a problem in this game (and the game weaponized it).

Plus, I don't hate none of those cars, probably will buy all of them. Still doesn't hide the fact that there should atleast be double the cars in this update, if they didn't lie about their "60 car per year" capability. If the update is this small, then try to appease as many people as possible, not with a VGT/Concept and 3 cars that go from the 50s to 70s.

Then again, no one would complain if these cars came in an update of 8-10 cars. But somehow, a DS is a bigger priority for PD over any of the highly requested cars. "You want a 190E, an LFA, well we got a DS, close enough?"

I wonder what the arguments will be if PD adds that Toyota ugly square van thing that showed up in the datamine. People will defend anything.
 
I swear this thread is populated by people that don't realise not every single member of the community wants the Lexus LFA. I was born in the 90s, I have no nostalgia for a 70s Citroen. I still think it's cool and will drive it.

The LFA is ridiculously overhyped at this point. It's just going to go the way of the Chiron and disappear a month after launch anyway.

I agree, as you mentioned the LFA is of no interest to me in particular for example but I realize that quite alot of people still want it and while these cars are not exactly my cup of tea, I will still drive them and get use out of them. People have to understand that if PD even did 20 cars per update there will still be people who will not be satisfied. The DS seems kind of boring to me but that may change once I actually drive it in-game.

Not if I have anything to say about it. As the biggest of the LFA wanters, I'll make it a point to use it everywhere I go. Drag lobbies? Car meets? 700 PP tournaments? No matter what, I'll have an LFA ready for the task. I'll stop it from fading into obscurity. :P

Also... did the Chiron really disappear? In the lobbies I frequent (1/4 and top speed) there'll be at least one person using it every time and curbstomping the competition.
