I wonder how long it takes SONY/PD to get Sophy up to speed with a new car. It's clear that new cars take a bit to be Sophy compatible, which makes me think of how quickly does Sophy pick up on a new set of wheels, and whether they start training as soon as the car is finished, or even before the car is complete, as long as the core functionality is finished(since I doubt Sophy cares about graphics)

I am certain basic knowledge about racing lines, general drivetrain characteristics transfer over pretty easily, and with such a diverse car roster Sophy could use a similar existing car as a reference point to jump off from. Though the ability to tune and engine swap cars probably adds extra lead time as they might have to calibrate the agent on the various states that cars can be in, which would add a lot of extra complexity.

It really is a great looking sportscar, I think it‘s a much more emotional (and better) design than its predecessor, the F12.

Though imo the best looking front engined Ferrari of all time is the 250 GT Lusso:

Not just Ferraris, one of the most beautiful Cars in general imo. Its lines are so minimalistic but perfect and beautiful nonetheless, its shape looks so natural

I think they should only update the game to keep peripheral support up and release things that were already in the pipeline for it like from what was shown from datamine leaks so they can focus on the next GT game fully. 1.59 is kind of the version number when GT Sport was in process of starting to be sunsetted due to the next game was close to being revealed so hopefully history repeats itself and new GT reveal is around the corner, similar kind of timeline too of support. PS4 hard drives deserve some peace and tranquillity.

There is meant to be a PlayStation event in June so hopefully then (Will be around five years since GT7 got announced). Such a big opportunity to improve GT to a whole new level, they could achieve a generational leap even though we are well into this new generation. The game logic must be like almost like idling on PS5 so very different to how Gran Turismo games were in the past which were close to maxing out what was available. Kind of crazy that the game physics would run probably at a higher tick rate on a gaming PC released before the PS3 than current consoles, shows kind of how held back things are at the moment. Even just running the current physics faster with the available hardware on PS5 would probably make it a bit better to drive.

It should be also easy for them to update the next GT game later on to fully support the PS6 Portable and also the beefier home console too with shinier graphics. It will be disappointing if they don't release a new game before another generation starts. Even releasing the game in a more barebones but high-quality focused state early is preferable to me like GT5P.

GTWS round 1 information has been released. There's no "announced on the day" events.

Of note - the Viewers Campaign cars (winning Gr.3 car for Manufacturers, the Valkyrie in Nations Cup winner's national colours for Nations) are explicitly not being released until after the next update. However, I would not read that to mean "they have to wait because one of the possible Gr.3 cars is new content in the next update", that's a bit too optimistic a reading I think.

Campaigns run until Monday 23rd June, so most likely an update on Thursday 26th if they follow the usual schedule, and yeah it won't be a new Gr3 if it's the winning one from the live event (just a special livery on the existing model).

I wonder if the next update will be revealed at the event in the same fashion as last year’s July update. It was a cool strategy, not gonna lie. The 1.49 video remains by far the most watched update video for GT7, with almost half a million views.

Just like they did with Eiger, it would be a great opportunity to reveal a track, probably the last one coming to GT7.

It's awesome when they do that - or show off upcoming content in a race like with the F1 car recently. Just like the GT Sport days

Well GT6 has been announced in may and released in december. They made an event and booom. GTSport has been announced also in a kind of private gran turismo event. Gt7 at the playstaion 5 showcase. So…i mean…they are quite unpredictable. And everything can happen

That would be a hell of a time to introduce a new GR.3. Pretty sure the last three new GR.3 for the Manufacturers Cup (Subaru BRZ, Mercedes AMG GT3 2020 and Nissan GT-R GT3 Nismo 2018) were all introduced well before the live events so I think it's way too optimistic to expect it to be any different here. The more unusual choices like the 90s-early 2000s JGTC cars however...small maybe.

It does say a specified Gr.3... who knows? :mischievous:

Anyone remember the mirrored event at Spa where the ONLY cars you could use were the ones currently used for the Manufacturers Series? I predict it's the same story for this Time Trial.

They'd need a sizeable update for that to work, and... you know...

For those of us that use PSVR2, it would be on another level if the switching feature from this game
was in GT7 or the next Gran Turismo.

Imagine “standing” in the VR pit garage watching the race on the screens and communicating with the driver. Total immersion achieved!

GT8 is not coming anytime soon, Kaz literally confirmed that he wants to keep GT7 alive for longer than previous games.
When did he say this?

As far as I know, Kaz/PD have been super cagey either way - there was that one comment at the 2023 world finals about "having a theme for the next one" that everyone assumed meant GT8 (but might not have, it was in a conversation about the recently released Spec II update), and otherwise they've said nothing either way about either 7's life expectancy or 8's development.
