I wonder if the next update will be revealed at the event in the same fashion as last year’s July update. It was a cool strategy, not gonna lie. The 1.49 video remains by far the most watched update video for GT7, with almost half a million views.

Just like they did with Eiger, it would be a great opportunity to reveal a track, probably the last one coming to GT7.

It's awesome when they do that - or show off upcoming content in a race like with the F1 car recently. Just like the GT Sport days

Well GT6 has been announced in may and released in december. They made an event and booom. GTSport has been announced also in a kind of private gran turismo event. Gt7 at the playstaion 5 showcase. So…i mean…they are quite unpredictable. And everything can happen

However, I would not read that to mean "they have to wait because one of the possible Gr.3 cars is new content in the next update", that's a bit too optimistic a reading I think.
That would be a hell of a time to introduce a new GR.3. Pretty sure the last three new GR.3 for the Manufacturers Cup (Subaru BRZ, Mercedes AMG GT3 2020 and Nissan GT-R GT3 Nismo 2018) were all introduced well before the live events so I think it's way too optimistic to expect it to be any different here. The more unusual choices like the 90s-early 2000s JGTC cars however...small maybe.

It does say a specified Gr.3... who knows? :mischievous:

Anyone remember the mirrored event at Spa where the ONLY cars you could use were the ones currently used for the Manufacturers Series? I predict it's the same story for this Time Trial.

They'd need a sizeable update for that to work, and... you know...

For those of us that use PSVR2, it would be on another level if the switching feature from this game
was in GT7 or the next Gran Turismo.

Imagine “standing” in the VR pit garage watching the race on the screens and communicating with the driver. Total immersion achieved!

GT8 is not coming anytime soon, Kaz literally confirmed that he wants to keep GT7 alive for longer than previous games.
When did he say this?

As far as I know, Kaz/PD have been super cagey either way - there was that one comment at the 2023 world finals about "having a theme for the next one" that everyone assumed meant GT8 (but might not have, it was in a conversation about the recently released Spec II update), and otherwise they've said nothing either way about either 7's life expectancy or 8's development.

You've made this claim twice now and didn't provide a link last time you were asked. So when, exactly, did Kaz say this?
To be honest, I don't think Kaz would make a quick decision like that, hence the game is a little over 3 years old. GT sport lasted seven years and three months, so I assume gt7's online modes would last 8-9 years since there are much more cars and better engine swaps and features. Even the cafe is a cool place to hang out with the A.I. staff, Sarah for one.

The new missions were a game changer and attraction for many people, I don't think Kaz would let down his fans that soon. Think about the people that haven't even discovered this game yet, their missing a lot of fun and leisure.

Plus he still won't provide evidence as to when Kaz said that. Which is suspicious, but...

I'm not making any comment about how long GT7 may or may not last (although I believe this will be a commercial decision rather than anything suggested in your post), I'm just asking @PuffelPizza to provide a source or link for when Kaz apparently said he planned for GT7 to last longer than other GT's.

The only things I'm comfortable assuming about the next GT is a) it's probably not this year, or they'd have announced it by now, and b) it won't be anywhere near when GTA VI releases, because AAA publishers won't release anything big when it could just get swallowed up by the Rockstar goliath.

Anything else, let's face it, we have no idea.
