I visited the grave of Herbert von Karajan in the town of Anif, just outside Salzburg. Near this church stands a bust of Norio Ohga, the president of Sony who was present at Karajan's final moments.

It was Ohga who gave the green light to Kutaragi's PlayStation project despite opposition from those around him.

The scene was like a battlefield as we were nearing the master completion of the first Gran Turismo, but it was a cherished memory that Mr. Ohga took the time to visit our team's worksite for a morale-boosting visit.

Despite the team being exhausted from working through the night, Ohga-san's clear, resonant voice—he was also a vocalist—filled the space and gave us a great boost of courage.

In a video from Sony where kaz, jann m. and the film directors talk about the movie and the game itself, at the 1:42 minute this picture gets shown, could it mean anything or just a cgi from the movie being rendered? I dont think so. View attachment 1471301
The car being shown is clearly a Vantage GT3/GTE, '18 model, road car aldready in game. Its important to say this particular car was used on the movie, thats why it could be CGI. But pretty much every racing scene in the movie doesnt need CGI, so thats why it could be a car being modeled for the game. I could be wrong tho, since i dont know too much about movie production.

I have now added a screenshot if you don't want to click on to it. Kaz thankfully posts both in Japanese and English in one post nowadays due to probably X allowing longer posts too for Premium users.

There was a fair bit of live action but also mixed CGI stuff but it wasn’t heavily used from the Final Cut and more complimentary than focus of the dramatic moments.

Even if there aren't any obvious scenes where CGI would be used, it's still likely modeled for the film. It could be used to fill the static background of a set. It could have been made in pre-production just in case they needed it in post-production. It could have been used to storyboard race sequences before filming.

On the topic of cars from the GT Movie, reading back the GTPlanet article on the cars in it it's weird how close-but-not-quite some additions have been to that list.

• We got a 190E... but it was Evo 2, not Evo 1
• We got a Vantage... but it wasn't a GT12
• We got a tuned R34 GT-R... but it was Nismo, not Mine's
• And we got a 992 GT3 RS... and no but this time, it just is a 992 GT3 RS

The Ford GT GTE part was debunked by the in-game car being IMSA-spec instead of WEC-spec, putting the other two into question.

VR, wheel and pedal, kart racing against Sophy. Make sure you have a fan blowing at you for maximum immersion. It's a wonderful experience.

Well, it would be, but I was too slow to keep up with even the last place Sophy. Which is a great sign, the previous custom race AI had absolutely no challenge on kart racing. Now I have a reason to get good.

It still would not smoke like that at speed unless he blew the engine...and in magnification the steam i mentioned above is out of focus and not sharp like the car, hence it has to be in background.

It's more that this is becoming a trend that getting a car into GT7 seems to be important enough that on their Japanese social media feeds manufacturers post about it - I remember Mitsubishi did it for the Evo IX and Evo VIII, and Subaru did it for one of the Imprezas.
