The social media accounts also look pretty dismissive of it.

Afeela, Shmafeela.

Ah fee fee fee fee... what a bothersome name to begin with.

I really don't think it's that black and white. There might be many reasons for people criticizing GT7 for its outdated selection of GT3 (and prototype) race cars. I too think it's unfortunate since I'm a big motorsports fan and also really like making replica liveries in the game. I would love to create the latest WEC, IMSA & GT World Challenge designs but I'm unable to since these cars aren't in the game.

Having said that, I still think apart from that issue and the lack of a career mode the game itself is fantastic and probably the best car game available for consoles currently. You can tell that Kaz is a car nerd just like us and that's why this game has such an incredible attention to detail.
Absolutely. I was being funny. However, what i said was at least half true for some people.

A group of friends and I recently started running 450PP races where each player has to choose a specific car and make it their own, and it's genuinely some of the most fun we've ever had on the game.

Honestly, I'm starting to agree. And it's nothing to do with PD themselves, and more - what else are Sony going to announce from their studios?

Naughty Dog, Insomniac, Sucker Punch, Housemarque and Haven (for now) all have announced games. Asobi and Firesprite both have relatively recent releases. Bend, Bluepoint and Media Molecule are all multiple years away after recent live service game cancellation/support ending. Santa Monica aren't reasonably going to turn around a new huge AAA blockbuster faster than PD can produce GT8. The two new studios are, well, new.

It's either PD or Guerrilla who are next up to announce.

I might take that bet.

You Couldnt have said it better. However i dont get, ¿why do they play, if the only thing they do is crticize, and its not like most of them couldnt just get, a game like asseto corsa? Which fits their necessities. Oh! True. That game is too hard for these low skilled guys, let them play the mighty gran turismo simcade!
And I don't get why ppl spend time criticizing videos they don't like😉
See? It's simple, everyone has the right to do what he wants. And that's a good thing!
And criticism can be a good thing. No doubt about this. Nothing's perfect. There are many games I like but I also criticize. GT7 is one of those games. As long as criticism is constructive, it's fine for me. If it isn't, if it's just bashing, I simply ignore it.

You're right, but I think the issue with YouTube (and social media on general) is that controversy and hot takes often get promoted by the search/recommendation algorithms. So if you search for content on the game, you're going to see a lot of stuff like that even if it's not particularly what you're looking for. Content creators understand this very well, and many of them make videos specifically to exploit that. So not only are videos like that difficult to avoid, but they're often disingenuous.

Some of these guys are in an toxic relationship with Gran Turismo and can't leave.

GT keeps whispering sweet nothings in their ear and telling them they'll change this time.

It's Pebble Beach this weekend, by the way.

Looking forward to finding out which '60s-'70s Italian car, probably styled by Bertone, that we will get in a GT9 content update.
Pebble Beach would be such a cool thing to get excited for and follow if it meant it was actually coming to the game in a reasonable time frame. Like I'd absolutely follow the award etc. and want to see what's going on if I knew I'd be driving the winner in at least under a year.

When it's just like 10+ years in some cases I just don't care. Could be literally any car, it's meaningless to me.

The fact that these people are so short-sighted that they intentionally limit themselves from experiencing that type of joy is just... tragic, to me.
have been doing this for years ;)
450-700pp road cars on Sport Tyres.
best, fun, ever. :D

The Spec II update for my custom career, Gran Turismo Integrale, releases tomorrow at 7 PM UK time. It is the final update, and rounds out the project with more content, and to make use of every game mode available in the single player.

For more on what Gran Turismo Integrale is and how to play, check out this post.

If you plan on playing, I would recommend waiting until the update releases, so you don't have to re-copy any Google spreadsheets or documents.

Sophy League is a condensed career structure fully compatible with GT Sophy. Classic GT style and Motorsport focused paths are available.

Arcade Mode is designed to be jump in and play with maximum speed and consistent custom race settings, with preselected cars and both Classic and Motorsport paths. There are also versions of these paths that fully support GT Sophy.

Slip Risks are events in Drift Trial, where you must complete three runs per track, in preselected cars, sometimes with specific tyres equipped, and each run must have a higher score than the last, or you start over from the first run. There is a Slip Risks event for every Drift Trial-supported track and layout in the game.

Manufacturer League are events where each one focuses on a single make or model.

Shuffle League contains three random wheel spins, one for cars, one for tracks, and one for a PP value. You can spin as few or as many as you like, to quickly get a car to use, a track to race on, or a PP limit to meet.

Missions are challenges and atypical scenarios where you must achieve a specific objective.

Critical Stints is a Time Trial based game mode, where you drive at maximum pace, and if at any point, your current lap is more than one second slower than your fastest lap, the run is over. Almost every event has a 16x tyre wear multiplier, meaning that it gets harder and harder to maintain pace as the laps go on. The goal is to beat your own personal bests and see how far you can get. There is a Critical Stints event for every track and layout in the game.

108 drivers, 89 fictional, 20 real, have biographies, with help from a friend of mine, Mr. Videogames, who wrote a portion of them. Some biographies are a paragraph long, while others are longer to varying degrees. All driver portraits will be added by the 20th of August.

Customer repellant, like bug spray...
Not just the marketing, the idea car's idea had skeptics with its overpricing and the overkill, gimmicky infotainment.

On other hand though, I am somewhat expecting a VGT "racing concept" version of the Afeela, modeled after something like the Jaguar I-Pace eTrophy.

Posts are indeed getting interesting to say the least.

Gotta love the GT4 intro reference on the first pic.

Incoming comment from someone along the lines of “OMG, they said Gran Turismo 4! It’s coming back as a remaster”!

I wonder why these tweets have started surfacing with no real context other then to showcase - who knows really, probably just some general PD marketing.

Two things:
  • They should be allowing us to take pictures at the pit area at this point
  • Oh my, it has been more than 20 years since GT4 came out? 😭
