Lacks pages with thumbnail such as Fittipaldi, with GT Sport, W08, LH Edition, R18 TDI Redundancy, RX-VISION GT3 Concept Stealth Model, Mangusta Christian Dior, X2019 25th Anniversary with Gran Turismo website as car request not a wishlist.

So now we're a little ways removed from the update, I think this is a fair topic for discussion at this point:

What do you all think is happening with the track team that has meant there's been one single new track in the 20 months of 2024-25? Before that, their pace seemed to be roughly 2 a year (Daytona and the three originals in 2020-21, Watkins and Road Atlanta in '22, Grand Valley and Lake Louise in '23).
Like everyone else I also think it's possible they started to keep the tracks for the next game. They might still be releasing cars when they are ready, but tracks take them much more time, and maybe they don't think it's a good idea to release next game with like one new track. Another possibility (but of a similiar idea): let's say usually they always had the whole track team work on one track, finish it, then move to the next one. But now they separated the team, which previously spent like a year on one track, and now that team works on 3 tracks at the same time, which means they will finish in 3 years. That would mean the team works at usual pace, but there's simply nothing to release cuz nothing is ready, and they just decided to have 3 tracks ready for the next game instead of releasing one more each year for GT7.

There also was that one guy on Reddit who works on that track team, and one piece of information we got from him is how PS4 actually limits what they can do in terms of tracks for GT7, which I think is a good argument to back up the "new tracks go to the next game" theory. PS4 limits can be a good reason for PD to start making tracks for "GT8" instead of spending more time making tracks for GT7.
They can be working on something big like Pikes Peak, but I feel like that is the kind of track which would definitely be impacted by said PS4 limits.

Assuming that you're talking about the GT7 Collector Book car list on the official game website...

These cars are not in Gran Turismo 7, so fairly obviously would not appear on a list of cars that are in Gran Turismo 7.
RX-VISION GT3 Concept Stealth Model, Mangusta Christian Dior, X2019 25th Anniversary
These cars do not count as separate collectible models in Gran Turismo 7 and do not have Collector Book entries, therefore it is not a surprise that they do not appear on a list of cars that are in the Collector Book in Gran Turismo 7.
website as car request not a wishlist.
Ummm... what? It's neither a request nor wishlist. It's a list of cars that are in the game.

Stunning addition to the game. And this beauty even has decent brakes. :D

Ponte do Forth_.webp

I think at this point most of the team (and the work) is going into the next installment, but there will still be one more track for GT7.

I don't see GT8 (or whatever it's called) before 2028.

So there's plenty of time in between.

One more track by the end of the year, perhaps, announced at the GTWS finals.
2027 is the anniversary. They won't miss that.

PS4 compatibility could be the answer. And Poly is working on more advanced tech for tracks.
I can't see the point wasting time with obsolete hardware in 2025
Unlike a feature like Sophy, this would be a PR disaster to offer a track playable only on ps5 in a future update.

Man, wouldn't it be great if the flood lights all around the track at Blue Moon Bay actually worked when it turns to night...

This is a field of Dallara SF23's, which like most formula cars, don't have headlights.
The photo's exposure correction is +1.0, so it's even darker than this normally.

Also the infield lake has a wave effect, but is completely static when on track, like it's made of glass. You'll notice if you park next to it.
Interestingly it does have wave animations in the off-track cutscenes.

Special Stage Route X's water is also completely static seemingly in both driving mode & off-track cutscenes. I'm guessing it's a thing with all GT Sport era tracks with water, though I don't recall if they were static in that game. If they weren't, then maybe there was a bug when porting them over to GT7 that caused it.
At least Route X's track lights work, unlike Blue Moon Bay.

Grand Valley doesn't have the water issue, with it being animated even while in driving mode, despite it being farther away from the track than the other examples.

This is also an issue with High Speed Ring - you can make a night race if the track is very cloudy at evening.

Lacks pages with secrets cars database as image png thumbnail
There are no secret cars in GT7.

The page is literally the Collector Book from the game.

not a wishlist
That's correct, it's not a wishlist. It wouldn't make any sense for PD to post a wishlist of cars for its own game on its own website.

An issue regarding the cars' sound in GT SPORT and GT7:
GvLi8FtWMAAMBSL

Each engine sound likely has a limit on their sound pitch.
When the rpm limit (not the starting point of the red line) of the engine itself is under the sound pitch limit, the actual rpm and sound pitch keep matching.
But if the rpm limit exceeds the sound pitch limit, the sound range would be stretched, and the rpm and sound pitch go out of sync.

↑Reference video. The first line of the text indicates the sound pitch limit, and the second is the current engine rpm limit.
(Used the Mustang GT '15 for the clip no. 1, and the Shelby GT350R '16 for the no. 2 (stock) and no. 3 (super high-rpm tuned).)

I don't know what the studio will do regarding GT8's track roster. Whether they'll keep the current ones and add new ones, which would be foolhardy because the game's file system would be monstrous, especially considering the disc version, or whether they'll remove some to make room for new tracks and later offer the missing tracks in updates or even track packs, allowing for more flexible installation.

Whichever path they take, I expect to see at least four to six new tracks at launch, with two returning classic original tracks, two real-world tracks, and two entirely new to the series.

And of course, everything done with the detail and optimization that the PS5 allows without the inherent limitations of the PS4.

In the future, the disc may become just a base for game engine and licence key, with all remaining data to be downloaded. I don't think it would become a limit.
I think so too. That‘s already the case with Call of Duty games nowadays.

Current game exceeds PS5 disc capacity and updates download the full game each time.
I would hope that once the game is downloaded it would download the license key as well and you would have to use the disc at all.

The whole idea is to prevent you having the game installed locally and then sharing the disk with a riend or selling it on. What they want you and friend to do is buy a copy each.

The only way yo run wihtout the disk is buy the digital copy, which can't be transferred to other machines/accounts or a disk license is registered against your account and cannot be used against another - nowadays probably tecnically possible but complicated to implement. Far asier to persuade customers to buy digital versions of games and eventually do away with physical completely.
