...Which have exactly what correlation with Spec updates? The ones that have consistently used Moon Over the Castle in this game's openings?
Yeah, pretty much. I just thought that the Pharrell collab was gonna be Spec III's opening, but clearly it's not. And so... what else could it be for besides GT8? =/ That's why I don't think a Spec IV is gonna happen, especially when the game is almost four years old.

I mean, previous Spec openings did change the theme after all.
Where on earth did this Spec IV speculation come from?
Ask ikon? -shrug- I'm just commenting on it, that's all.

There has been one thing I've noticed, but I'm not sure if it's a 'bug' exactly.
In a mode where you can change cars while at a track (like time trial), it seems to take a bit longer to load the garage compared to before.

You always talk about Daiki Kasho. Give it a rest.
With all due respect, the man is my favorite composer. His songs have inspired some of what I do elsewhere on the Net. Yet, again, he is quite elusive. So honestly, it should be no surprise that I talk about him a lot and wanting someone to interview him for a long while.

I mean, heh, is it really any different from wanting and talking about certain cars and tracks (heck, I still remember back in the GT5 days when everyone and their dog was demanding Spa to be in) to be in the game? To me, it's not. 'Cause really, that's all I want: new music (and some answers) from him. =/

You make music? So do I! Be sure to check out my Soundcloud link below.

That reminds me to ask, but are the Power Pack-exclusive cars even available for use on the PS4? Since you can only buy them through the PP menu on the PS5, that would lock those cars from availability on the PS4 (unless, of course, you're insane enough to have this game on the PS5 and PS4).

I'm predicting that the PS4 version of GT7 is going to end online services before the PS5 version does, unlike with GT Sport.
You probably right. My hope is if PS4 servers go offline they make proper offline patch.

When I say proper, I mean put all cars in brand Central, keep daily workout functioning, and keep livery editor functioning... I rather have livery editor with only default decals but still able to use it then no editor at all. And simply no point in keeping Used and legends cars dealers open when this happens since they need the internet to refresh. Just put all cars in Brand Central will be easiest way to let PS4 players still access all content they paid for.

But I think Polyphony will have more difficult time patching GT7 proper for offline than they do with PS3 era games or Sport because entire GT7 game except arcade mode relies on internet... A real stupid decision by Polyphony to make GT7 require online to begins with.

Improvements and Adjustments

1. Physics Simulation Model

 - Adjusted the behaviour of the shift down operation when 'Gear Shift: Manual' is enabled in 'Assist Settings' wherein the input will be ignored when trying to shift gear down at extremely high rpm/speed;
 - Adjusted the engine flywheel moment of inertia for the following cars:
  ・HYUNDAI N 2025 Vision Gran Turismo (Gr.1)
  ・Aston Martin Valkyrie '21

 - Adjusted the suspension dynamics for the following cars:
  ・Jaguar Vision Gran Turismo Coupé
  ・Jaguar Vision Gran Turismo Roadster
  ・Jaguar Vision Gran Turismo SV
  ・Volkswagen ID.R '19

As a consequence, the Performance Points (PP) of the above cars have been updated in line with these changes.

2. Power Pack

 - Updated the game balance and behaviour of Rival Cars in the race events.

3. Steering Controllers

 - Adjusted the force feedback of the steering controllers.

4. Multiplayer

 - Fixed an issue wherein only the first page of the list would be displayed in the 'Lobby.'

-----

that gear shift down change seems interesting like they trying to fix the forced engine braking

No mention of fixing Abu Dhabi track limits or the SR fix for that track.

The downshifting change is definitely noticeable. You have to wait a bit until the revs drop from the high range before you can change down.

It isn’t to the point where the game feels bad to play - though my driving style usually has slower downshifts so it might affect me less.

But I don’t think you can spam downshifts anymore. I’m gonna try just that and report back.

that's good because some used to use spam downshift to "cheat" early braking with engine mostly with road cars

it looked stupid and its unrealistic since you would blow up engine

I haven't had to wait for an update in a while, I forgot how long this takes.

You know, RuneScape has managed to kick players off the servers for an update and let them back on in minutes, for decades. It's less than a minute of downtime for most updates now. Even full on server maintenance is usually an hour at worst, most are 30-45 minutes, unless something goes wrong.

How does Polyphony, this massively wealthy company, make an always online game where the servers need 2 hours of downtime with every update?? The backend must be terrifying to work with, I can't imagine how it can be this bad. It's an achievement in itself.

And the worst part is that it shouldn't even need to connect to anything anyway!
