(unless, of course, you're insane enough to have this game on the PS5 and PS4).
Yeah I'm insane enough to have GT7 on a PS4 Pro and two PS5's ! I Haven't purchased the Power Pack yet so sorry but I can't answer your question.........yet.

Server maintenance incoming in a few hours.
Hopefully they don't mess up my current Power Pack endurance race progress.
Phew. Even with the Power Pack opponent balance & behaviour changes, my progress data is still there.

The downshifting change is definitely noticeable. You have to wait a bit until the revs drop from the high range before you can change down.

It isn’t to the point where the game feels bad to play - though my driving style usually has slower downshifts so it might affect me less.

But I don’t think you can spam downshifts anymore. I’m gonna try just that and report back.
Wait! They changed this? You can no longer downshift like crazy?

Seems like the AI is a bit slower in the Power Pack, but perhaps in that those in slower cars don’t have unrealistic boost.

In the Hachiroku race at Tsukuba, yesterday, Miyazono was close behind for almost all of the race, bearing in mind I was driving the D-Tuned 86, the fastest option, and he was driving Sprinter Trueno, which is the second/middle car.

Today I won by 8.8 seconds. The race is also 8 laps instead of 12 now, and there’s also a new results screen which looks cool:

That said, I did see a video of a YouTuber doing faster laps than me pre-patch and finished 12 seconds ahead. So they are faster than I am but maybe it would’ve been a bigger victory if the boost wasn’t in play, if it was in the first place.

Yup. Check out this video that shows it. Near the end I’m spamming downshifts and I can’t change down until the revs are low enough.

For most of the video I was spamming downshifts to show how fast you can do it.

The video is washed out because the HDR hasn’t processed yet but you can still see how the downshifts are:

This is so awesome.

The PP Hachiroku race around Tsukuba used to be 12 laps. Now only 8.
AI pace seems similar from what I remember though.

Edit
Out qualified Miyazono at Willow FF Tuning by 1.6s in the 2-chill Hyundai.
Got swamped at start like usual, passed him after 1 lap and won by 6 seconds.
This race was only 5 laps too. I'm sure it used to be at least 8 laps.

So the verdict is that it is easier now?
My verdict is that it is. Until this morning I was really enjoying hard battles in each of the power pack races, with no guarantee of a win. This morning, it's almost pointless racing. I'm absolutely not an alien, barely scraping into gold on most time trials, so I'm very, very disappointed.

Why on earth can't they equip the game with some meaningful variety in AI pace, that can be set by the player? Surely that would be the answer.

I heard the moderators talking about giving the "silly snowman" the Mariah Carey tune in 2026.

Personally i haven't heard the snowman. I'm mute 99% of time.
It's not always the replacement Hot reaction emoji, and in any case my idea for it all was much, much more horrible and would have had different sound effects for all of the reactions.

The car is a tour de force... EV with so much power
Great product to be acknowledged, I would drive it IRL as a commuter ..

But at the same time....

When they say the car becomes smaller as you drive it fast....

Yikes

To me it feels more like a black hole ...
Something so small, yet that weights so damn much....

LoL
In the timed event at Brands Hatch, it really becomes clear how heavy it actually is, and also how powerful. The right downhill corner after the start puts this car to the test. Irl as a commute car it looks nice and quick on a straight road but I will destroy this on any B-road with my Mini Countryman Cooper.

Edit : yes I just had to mention which car I own because I am really proud of this one. It's a fantastic sports family car with a great suspension and a potent small engine. It handles like a dream within its division.

So you know how GT7 marks the debut of the BAC Mono in the series? Turns out one of the engineers that worked on it lives around my neck of the woods! Met him and his wife playing trivia, he talked about how the Mono uses a fly-by-wire sort of technology for the throttle, so he had to simulate the resistance that one usually feels when they press the accelerator. Plus, not unlike LMH/LMDh, the clutch is only used for shifting into reverse and the first gear, and then it's just the paddle shifters from there. He says the Mono is a lot like an F3 car, too, in terms of architecture.

It's also one of the best looking mono seaters. It actually has class and style over sportiness when just seeing it passing by at regular pace.
I did see it once and I want one.

First they advertised their new Dunlop partnership with a Valkyrie :

And now this little random tweak for some reason :
 - Adjusted the engine flywheel moment of inertia for the following cars:
  ・HYUNDAI N 2025 Vision Gran Turismo (Gr.1)
  ・Aston Martin Valkyrie '21

I may overthink it, but I think something is coming around that car.

If they add the AMR, that would be wild. It would feel a little out of place seeing that only the GR010 would be it's real-life competitor. If they add the others in the class, it would feel less out of place.

I detune superior cars to fit in the class or even an entire class to fit in a lower class which receive an upgrade for matching performance but on different terrain. Like mixing up GT500 and DTM with GT3 by lowering the downforce and adding weight to the first group and adding a turbo to the latter. All have about 800pp. It's really interesting to see how it develops.
