The golden question is how many PS5 users have 4k-capable monitors.
Interesting topic, although a bit OT, hope nobody minds.
One thing I just don't get is why consoles don't let you set a intern resolution.
Some players, myself included, are still on 1080p TVs or monitors. Still, AFAIK, games are always rendered at highest resolution and just after this then downscaled to 1080p. I don't get this, because the performance would clearly be better if the game would simply just render at 1080p.

Sorry for the off topic, but I'm experiencing serious issues with gt7 servers, am I the only one? It disconnected while I was playing, I tried to restart the game and now it's stuck on the loading screen, my Internet connection works perfectly.

... as far as you know.

GT7's current server status is here:

PlayStation's current server status is here:

If both are showing as okay (and they are for me right now), it's your ISP or something more local.

Have you tried all of these things?

You can also try fully rebooting the console and, when you can access it, clearing the Network cache from Options.

If it's still having a tantrum, it's most likely - but not necessarily - your ISP or the infrastructure it uses.

Thank you very much

It's time for some update yearly trends!

The following stats only include cars added in 2022-25 updates that count towards the Car Collection. Notably, this excludes the Dior Mangusta, the 25th Anniversary Edition of the X2019, the GT Movie GT-R GT3 (though the '18 GT-R GT3 itself does of course count), all Power Pack cars, and the cars added in the v1.67 update.

Car Collection count numbers are used throughout here, so the Super Formulas and Italdesign VGTs count as 2 cars, for instance.

I think we'll get some more Gr.2 and Gr.1 cars this year. How many? Idk.

I can see it if PD can get the cars in game before the season opener, but I can also see them saving it for the end of the year or wait until GT8 to add them

The only two big trends I would personally take from that data, by the way, are:
  • PD are very much in a modern mood over the last year-and-change, over half of the 40 cars added in (2025+last month) were 2020+ model years, and
  • If you want an American car that isn't a Corvette of some description to be added... good luck, I guess?

My game occasionally freezes on the main loading screen. GT logo with the spinny circle. I just go back to the PS menu, force close the game (start -> close app) and try again. Usually works the 2nd time.

That likely requires retooling the game engine as well as things like the AI for GT7 to have 30+ car lobbies. My guess is that they'll likely save it for GT8 when PD and co could really take advantage of the PS5's capabilities because I feel like they haven't really done enough with the PS5 in terms of pushing it to its limit.
Why would it need AI changes? I am talking about online lobbies. ACC can run up to 50 cars in online races, with dynamic conditions, with damage, with driver swaps, on PS5.

I would welcome a full roster of newer GT500s.

They're my favourite category of car to race.
Having the three GT500 (Z, Supra and Civic/Prelude) with a Track (The major Candidate would be Motegi due to a tweet indicates what Polyphony Digital have worked to scan this track, but I'm okay if is also SUGO) would be a dream.

Looks like Kaz is at the Aston Martin base

He posted more info on Facebook. Cool GT jacket, two legends having dinner together just before the new F1 season kicks off so likely up to something given it is quite a busy period with testing coming up.

I wonder if they are going to form some kind of partnership with team or just bring 2026 F1 car to the game. Also wonder what Adrian wrote and if PDI used that book to help with potentially procedurally generating cars / developing their own F1 cars.

Maybe they will bring the Valkyrie LMDH to the game.

Fairly certain Newey didn't design the LMDH. Only the road-going Valkyrie and the Valhalla.

I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think anything substancial is coming from this meeting.

As iconic as it is, the X2019 (which is really a lightly-modified X2014) is getting pretty old now.
It wouldn't have Red Bull branding if Adrian Newey made it now of course, but I wonder if we might see a new car take the place of the X2019 at some point.

... but almost certainly far less related given that this is highlighting Aston Martin F1 alongside Newey, not Red Bull.
It is also car launch tomorrow...

With the inclusions of both Skoda and Xiaomi, I wonder what other countries could be represented in GT? My immediate thought is Canada, through the return of HPA Motorsports, and I do hear that it's likely we could specifically see the return of their take on the Audi TT. It'd be wonderful if their 4WD Golf could return alongside it, too. Then there's the elephant in the room: Australia, with Ford's AU-market models and especially the entirety of Holden. Finally, I wonder if Spyker could return to represent the Netherlands, perhaps with its C8 GT2? That could be a decent fit for Gr.3.

You're a solid three weeks out of date with your hearing.
