My take? I think if more Sport Mode races integrated events from World Circuits or the Power Pack - or more of a motif in general - then I'd be more than down for that. For example, I know that there have been Special Events in the Weekly Challenges like the Tourist Trophy, so that could make for a really neat Sport Mode race. To make things easy, these races could only permit a rental from a pre-tuned selection, so players spend less time tinkering with the various settings and more time actually racing. In the case of the Audi TT in general, all three rentals would have very light tunings - perhaps to have similar power and weight figures - without anything more extreme like widebodies or engine swaps, or even things like aero parts from GT Auto.

Another idea that I'd like to see would be to have more tie-in events, like the GR Cup, or that series of Porsche time trials that got you a 911 RSR, a 959, and a 917 in a special livery. Perhaps with Mazda being relatively close to GT, we could get a Roadster Cup - though I'd be far more interested in that once we get the NB and NC models.

A third idea would be to have more races featuring the main racing groups but with a narrower selection that follows a certain theme. Like there could be a Gr.3 race that could limit players to FIA GT3 racers from the early 2010s, like the Z4, SLS-AMG, V12 Vantage, 458, GT-R '13, and ideally the return of the Audi R8 LMS Ultra '12.
Call it GT8 Racing.
I had a better idea for a title: Gran Turismo Omologato, referring to the emphasis on regulated racing via Sport Mode.

Unfortunately still far too complex for the average Sport Mode player. There are self-admitted people in this community who only play Gran Turismo, the expansive automotive experience with over 500 unique cars and almost infinite potential, to race the same few Gr.3 and Gr.4 cars, with dismal BoP settings nuking all their power output, every single week without fail. They consider anything else "boring road cars" or "PD trolling".

Anything more creative or interesting would genuinely fry their brains. I'd love to see their reaction to another open-setup PP-limited daily, if PD still had the stones to do such a thing. :P

I think they just want people to suggest more down to Earth wishes potentially for the next game. I personally don't see Spec IV ever happening. Spec III barely introduced anything new outside of content already.

splitting up the current groups into historically accurate categories like this would be my ideal spec IV update. they would probably need to add a few more cars for some of the smaller categories like Group 5 (which only has the skyline rn) or the '97-'98 era GT1s. but if PMR can get the rights for the cars from those groups then surely PD could as well.

I at least believe in adding two major racing groups: “Gr.1V” for classic sports prototypes like the Porsche 917 and Ferrari 330 P4, and “Gr.3V” for classic GT racers like the Shelby Daytona Coupe and the Ferrari 250 GTO. And maybe even a third group for the mid-1950s Le Mans racers like the Aston Martin DB3S.

I hope the ability to use a non-tilted camera on a banked corner or sector could possibly be added. It throws me off and it gives me somewhat of a vertigo problem.

Yeah.
That's the irreparable damages from GT Sport.
Dividing the game community like this.

After the astonishing number of 500 players in the infamous open setup in tsukoba, it will happen for sure lmao

Maybe if you and your ilk wouldn't immediately jump to calling it a "trash old car" when N2 is one of the most iconic series in Japanese racing history, people would be more inclined to give it a try. Your pathetic trolling is the primary reason for the downfall of the GT franchise. Must feel real good to be a Sport tourist with zero connection to the franchise and be completely catered to by the devs.

"HRC Rolls", huh.
Who'd have guessed you'd have that take.

Weird, they already have all the data they need without the necessity of a survey.
No, they don't. They have metrics and telemetry, they know how long did you play it, if you faced a system crash, if you dropped and never got back to it. That sort of thing.

The survey asks for your impressions and opinions, how did you evaluate the content, what did you like or didn't, how a hyothetical future expansion could be improved and so on. You don't get that stuff from player metrics.

Car sales as well. Plus, credits earned, tuning, liveries, etc. Those come into play with the information PD gather. I’m sure they can see how players tune cars, as all that is online. I’m sure they can see how players save races and what are in them, as that’s all stored online.

For sure, PD would need the survey for them to have specific answers from players, but it looks like they’ve been seeing how players play. Couldn’t be coincidence to get (somewhat)N2 races-Toyota GR GT Cup events, Group A DTM races, Group C races before the Power Pack and then having those same races in the Power Pack.

I mean, I’d like to know officially what led them to make those type races in GT7, but they do have a wealth of information how players play.

You're definitely in my good books with this viewpoint.

Ok maybe not.

FWIW all of that information is on GTP as well. It's just so sporadic that it isn't feeding the metrics they care about that gives the game longevity.

Talking about those things in a thread certain helps and gets either extreme answers of the questions, so I'm sure they'll pass through the thread to get any other outstanding ideas or thoughts.

All of these are metrics. Percentage of players who played this or that. What tracks players spend more time on. Which liveries people like the most, which cars from an update make more success (tip, going by the Showcase, the racing cars, and it's not even close).

Even stuff they can extrapolate from savegames are not that deep. Like, going this superficial, they could very well conclude the favorite events and tracks are Sardegna, Le Mans and Daytona due to the endless grind.

Metrics are cold numbers. The survey asks your opinions, impressions, what you like or don't, subjective stuff that cannot be extrapolated from saves.

I would love to see the demographics from the survey overlayed with all the metrics they have from the game 🤔

I was wondering why I didn't get the survey but then I remembered that I usually untick all boxes concerning emails and promotions when I sign up for any service.
Well, whatever. I'm sure PD can still recognize that I let every single ticket expire that gives me a part😄

Edit: I just realized there are only 6 questions in this survey and I agree with others that this is kinda strange because they already have the answers for the first 4 questions🤔

It didn't help that ABS was disabled for that. PD were probably trying to provide the most faithful emulation of the N2 series as possible, but that just killed the participation numbers. The Eiger race a couple of weeks later had over twice the number of people at least setting a quali lap (32910 vs 15301).

I'm surprised that there is a very real possibility of Spec IV after all.
Well it's not like PD has ever been one to tell us what they're up to (for the most part :P). No road map, no release date for the PS6 or GT8, I'd say this is no surprise, though the mention this soon after Spec III does make me curious what's going on at PD behind the scenes.

Didn’t receive any email and i played gt7 more then 1300 hours 😅
Did you check yes on receiving various promos and other things? That seems to do the trick.

just last week i received one for spring discounts on ps store, once for the 30th anniversary of res series and a weekly recap but nothing about GT7. Weird
