NopeI was checking my email and I got a request to take a survey about GT7. Just curious to know if anybody else got one in the last few days?
From who?I was checking my email and I got a request to take a survey about GT7. Just curious to know if anybody else got one in the last few days?
Well that's a shame because his videos are really good.I've never watched a Ben Collins anything, and after a trope and a factual error in basically the same breath the first minute of actual speaking, I don't think I will again.
TVR didn't middle-finger the "EU's rules" in not having electronic assists and airbags, as it had low-volume manufacturer exemption the same as virtually any other brand making cars in sheds in random places. Most KTM X-BOWs don't have airbags even now, and that's made in the heart of the EU. As for "Trevor from Blackpool" being "not exactly the same as Enzo Ferrari from Modena", it's Italian for "Henry Smith from Midland"*.
I have no particular love for TVR - I mean, you can't hate the Cerbera Speed 12, and I'd definitely do a lot of obscene things for a five-litre Griffith, but the Tuscan was a boss-eyed mess and most of the stuff after that was way too fussy - but this is crap.
*Flipping it about is hard, as Trevor is of Welsh origin and doesn't lend to direct translation well, but I can make up an excuse to call him Paese di Guardianelli of Portonero. Sound cooler now, Benito?
At least they’re asking for the right kind of feedback. Despite my semi-worries, the Power Pack and this makes me think PD still have the ability to put together a great single player.
Questions were mainly about the power pack and a small mention of a Spec 4...At least they’re asking for the right kind of feedback. Despite my semi-worries, the Power Pack and this makes me think PD still have the ability to put together a great single player.
I’d say if they’re asking about this stuff regarding the power pack, sales didn't go as planned. It was of no interest to me. Besides casual league racing the actual game is almost dead to me, I forget to even do the weeklies and found I have a bunch new races i haven't completed.Questions were mainly about the power pack and a small mention of a Spec 4...
Oh, that's interesting regarding Spec 4! I know surveys don't really mean much in terms of what's coming, but still interesting that they entertain the possibility. Though maybe this is exactly the kind of place you'd entertain remote possibilities just to gauge interest.Questions were mainly about the power pack and a small mention of a Spec 4...
I almost exclusively do custom races with Sophy AI. Unfortunately not all tracks are compatible, and Sophy isn't great at all tracks. The power pack would have been great if you could just use your own cars...I’d say if they’re asking about this stuff regarding the power pack, sales didn't go as planned. Hopefully people give some feedback regarding Tuning Parts and the ability to actually sell them if we ever get a Spec 4.Questions were mainly about the power pack and a small mention of a Spec 4...
i don't really care about being able to use my own car for the PP races. what annoys me is that they don't let you use the Power Pack's inbuilt categories for custom races. I just want to be able to quickly and easily set up a '90s-'00s JGTC race or a classic DTM race without having to buy 4-5 duplicates of each car.I almost exclusively do custom races with Sophy AI. This is a great idea, using any race in the game/Power Pack once unlocked (and maybe completed once) as presets you can run in custom race, same cars, liveries, and you can change AI names.i don't really care about being able to use my own car for the PP races. what annoys me is that they don't let you use the Power Pack's inbuilt categories for custom races. I'd like to see a saved replay of this because I'm interested to see evidence of rubberbanding in the Power Pack. For me when it's down to the Power Pack the three minuses I can think of is the rubberbanding
Sure wish I’d receive the survey then. Darn.I just did the survey again here some screenshots
Edit: I didn't purchase the Power Pack
Weird, they already have all the data they need without the necessity of a survey.I just did the survey again here some screenshots

Spec 4 you sayI just did the survey again here some screenshots

Bit of a shame there isn't an option on that first screenshot forI just did the survey again here some screenshots

I'd thought they would collect statistics about thatWhat gives me pause about that survey going to PD (and not just PlayStation) is the car collection question.
200 is a bafflingly low maximum car count to ask about.
Same for 400 hours play time😄200 is a bafflingly low maximum car count to ask about.
Very good point. I haven’t hardly touched sport mode. My PS5 shows I have 2500+ hours into the game.Bit of a shame there isn't an option on that first screenshot for
"Online Racing (User Lobbies)"
The way that the online racing option is specifically stating "Sport Mode" in brackets could be indicating they don't see or care about online racing outside of it.
I for example don't play Sport Mode (besides getting the PSN Trophy), but I do use the online lobby feature for things such as league racing & casual play.
Would I tick the box, or does that send an inaccurate signal to Polyphony, given Sport Mode is specifically stated? Would they assume I'm a Sport Mode player, when I'm not?
If they hadn't specified and just said "Online Racing" then although less precise, it would cover both User Lobbies & Sport Mode instead of just the latter.
I have approximately the same play time as you....but around 1200 cars in my garage.I got approx 2400 hours of gameplay since March 22 2022 but I tend to restart my collection sometimes just for fun when new stuff comes in.
I have currently 160-170 cars in my in-game garage, my top being 350'ish.
August 27, 2021It’s crazy because Kaz admitted data showed older players play “offline” for hours and younger players play Sport mode for a couple races and turn the system off.
I have to requote this one from Kaz via gtplanet:Let’s read what Kaz says about GTS(gtp news article from Option):
Interestingly, Yamauchi acknowledges that fans may not always follow how Gran Turismo games change from generation to generation. That particularly applies to Gran Turismo Sport, and its shift into esport. “It may have seemed quite outlandish for some people!” he remarked, and notes that support for the game grew in a different way to previous titles, gaining more momentum later in its life.
Sport Mode then, as we’ve seen in the Gran Turismo 7 trailer last July, still has a major role to play, but GT7 will be nostalgic for those who played the previous games. “While inheriting elements such as the [FIA] championship realized in Sport, Gran Turismo 7 will return to the royal purpose of full volumes like [Gran Turismo] 1-4, and provide the best Gran Turismo experience at present,” says Yamauchi.
Of course we’ve previously heard that GT7 would be a combination of the “past, present, and future” of Gran Turismo, so this reinforcement comes as music to the ears of those fans of classic GT games.
“When you look at the distribution of the age groups playing Gran Turismo,” he explains, “it becomes apparent that those in the higher age groups prefer playing offline and the younger generation actually like playing online against others”.
That’s not the whole story either, as not only does player preference differ by generation, player behavior does too.
“The traditional Gran Turismo players, they play offline and they spend hours and hours in the game,” says Yamauchi. “The new generation of users will log in online, play maybe one or two races, and then log off. So the playing style is quite different between the two”.
For GT7 some of us higher age groups indeed have to play for hours to afford all the daggone multiples of cars and parts to customise each of them.
If Sport Mode was set up like World Circuit Mode(offline), where Sport Mode combined the Lobby & Paddock, Daily Races, TT events, Manufacturer & Nations events, plus rotation of Weekly races from offline, PD might see younger players spending more time online.
Treat both modes like the old discs. Separately. Make the title screen ask World Circuit Mode or Sport Mode.
Make the Sport Mode Map have all the circuit maps on screen, rather than looking like a resort. Simplify it for PS4 and make it more detailed for PS5/PS5P.
