Everything is new for GT7. They are certainly new in any update as that's the first time of that update.

PD does that. Even cars in earlier GT games, they are new for the first time ever in GT7.

So PlayStation just uploaded the Hypercar reveal trailer to their own channel. It's exactly the same as the one we've seen, but I just wanted to post it here because the thumbnail art is pretty cool.

Love the thumbail, you can already imagine the allure of the Hypercar class - roaring engines and bright, vibrant colors.

After watching the trailer on slo-mo, it looks as if the warning lights on that SC could maybe be turned off while driving.

Hopefully that is the case. But I doubt it'll have other lightbar colours, besides amber, available.

Maybe the next trailer, if there is one, gives us a better look.

The video's title is "5 New Cars in June Update", which may dash hopes some had of additional cars being revealed during State of Play. But hey, there's still the possibility of other cool stuff, right?
I personally doubt it will be Spec IV, but I also do feel that there is something more. Maybe track? Maybe Sophy update? One thing that came to my mind is another DLC similar to Power Pack? We have plenty more race classes to make decent races like GT500 (modern one) or open wheel cars both F3500 and Super Formula or the newest hypercars

Yeah, the message sounds like besides the LMH there is more than has not been revealed yet. Not Spec 4 but sinilar to the eiger update.

Definitely feels like we have a big update coming🤔 (Fingers crossed Motegi is in 🤞🏻)

Motegi would be an odd choice to pair with WEC Hypercars of all things. One would think Motegi is more likely to be paired with Super GT car content if anything race car related. But even if odd, it's not impossible.

I am a big fan of Motegi as some of my previous posts over the month have shown. Really want the oval to be preserved/restored digitally by Polyphony, since it's being turned into a grass spectator area in real life now.
When I first started my online racing league back on GT6, I had the Motegi Road Course as the 2nd round of the championship. We did LMP & GT multiclass, and it worked pretty well at the track.

I think the cars are pretty much locked in. Everything else about the update, we don't know yet, but there could be surprises.

I would hope if there is a track in this update it would be something like Sebring or an updated LeMans track. TBH I will be happy with any new track

The update seems really promising, but I wonder if a bigger update in June could mean no updates during all the summer season, until September. In that case it would be comparable to have 2/3 smaller updates delivered together.

Is possible, that happened with the Eiger update:

June: No update
July: Eiger update
August: No update
September: Small update (Evo VIII, Hiace and R35 T-Spec)

Now could be:

May: No update
June: Hypercars update
July: No update??
August: Small update??

Trying to spot patterns in things that happened once is a pointless endeavour.

One of the many wonderful aspects of GT is that anything can happen at any time without warning - that means dreaming is always on.

And as long as that doesn’t become expectation, that’s perfectly healthy.

Just remember to leave your pitchforks at home when PD “skips” an update or two - we are not entitled to monthly updates.

I'm hoping the Power Pack gets more races added to it soon, it definitely added major replayability with us being able to use our own cars now, but I would love to see the event roster get expanded over time.

I agree with you, but I’m already foreseeing that someone would open such a thread “update July 26” moaning for the monthly update 😅

Now that they are doing a thematic update with the hypercars, I think it’s plausible that Motegi will be in the game by the end of the year with the three current Super GT cars in one single update.

Exactly. PD do surprises well.™️ They surely got us(except probably Jordan and Famine ;) ) with this one.

When the Power Pack was announced, we were given all the features on the website. Then, a month later it released.

The Hypercar “Pack” was previewed at the World Tour. It could just be that. Same when the Mazda RX-V was previewed. That update added new events.
Hey, I’m always dreaming, but if it are just the cars, I’m totally fine with this.

The way you justify lack of roadmap...sad.

We have so many safety cars without any use... Maybe it's time to use them in a 'role' playing custom race???
We will see.....
Thinking Think GIF

You could use it as the rabbit in races with slower cars

The best thing we could get with those hypercars is to have them Sophy compatible right away so I can do another 2.4 hours of LeMans custom race....
Are any of the recently added cars Sophy compatible? As in, ever since they made Sophy available in custom races?

I'm not sure if anyone keeps track of that. Maybe there's a thread somewhere in the depths of this website though.
I discovered yesterday that the Peugeot 908 isn't Sophy-compatible, which sucks. Guessing it's the lack of a shark fin for stability that it has trouble with, compared to the Audi R18 Non-Hybrid.

@J24681357 put a lot of work into this thread collating Sophy compatibility data:

Im kind of lucky that life is so busy for me that I barely can make time to play this from month to month...its been 2 months since I last played . But I gotta tell you how nice it is everytime I load this game I get updates ....and there's another one coming too...oh joy

I've played once in the last 2 months. Given I have moved apartments, was sick for a couple weeks, and then went on vacation for a week. But it's mostly due to disinterest.
