Genesis, your GMR-001 can't come to the game soon enough. This just dropped and my goodness...

Another one that livery designers will no doubt be working on, likely on the Genesis VGT Gr.1, but also the actual Hypercars for competition use (Porsche 963 perhaps?).
With the GMR-001 being so new, making its debut this year, it'll be a long time until it shows up in Gran Turismo... if it shows up in Gran Turismo.

There are several examples of such „cross sponsorship”
Nissan GTR in Assetto Corsa Competizione has Gran Turismo livery
There is also iracing banner on Tsukuba in GT7

I think if genesis would like to have this car in GT7 they could easily do this.

If I recall correctly, these decals in the preset decal library were added at one point, and weren't in the game at launch. But I don't remember when, and I might be mistaken.

Perhaps there's more of a connection that we'll find out about?

I think this kind of background is just how Opera announce anything they ever do, I wouldn't read into this one at all.

It came up a couple of weeks ago as well and it was just a post updating people on one of their builds or something similar.

So with nothing Gran Turismo being featured at the State of Play in the end, I suppose the next date we can expect to have some news would be Wednesday 10th June, the day before the update drops, which should be when the final trailer is shown and we get more update details on the GT website.
Though perhaps silhouettes could be shown a few days before too, even if we know all the cars already.
Unless that Opera Performance post is at all GT-related.

These events always remind me just how unique Gran Turismo is in the world of gaming.
