* LMHs/LMDhs having lower styles numbers than expected (all of them have more scapes photos than styles, except for 963) seems to be "same liveries are enough" issue (also affecting the Delta HF WRC and MP4/4). 963 and 499P top two in shared styles among LMH/LMDhs explainable by alternate WEC/IMSA variations and the Modificata respectively, though.
I'd imagine the price tags of 3 million credits each will have an effect on some numbers too. The cheaper a car is, the easier it is to access for more players, and vice versa.
The high prices may also have lead to a lot of players choosing to only buy 1 of the 4, rather than all of them, let alone buying duplicates for different liveries.
There's been some great opportunities to test drive each car in Sport Mode for free, before committing to which one a player wants to buy.

Average score for all cars this year so far:
  • 47 pages of styles
  • 44 pages of scapes
  • 31 pages of race photos
  • 18 pages of replays
  • 35 pages of all content type per car
Points of note:
  • 992 GT3 R maxes out all shared content types already
  • Efini FD RX-7 '91 popularity is no surprise since it's a JDM and GT classic
  • Twingo beat all other race cars (Elantra N TC and the LMH/LMDhs) proving its memetic popularity, but somehow lost the overall podium to Camaro Race-Mod
  • 963 and Elantra N TC averages seems to be carried by replays (daily race qualifying laps? 963 was qualifying meta at Le Mans LMH-only daily)
  • LMHs/LMDhs having lower styles numbers than expected (all of them have more scapes photos than styles, except for 963) seems to be "same liveries are enough" issue (also affecting the Delta HF WRC and MP4/4). 963 and 499P top two in shared styles among LMH/LMDhs explainable by alternate WEC/IMSA variations and the Modificata respectively, though.
Well... It ends up I was right about the Twingo VS the new Hypercars.

Gonna have a bit of fun with some speculation.

So you know how La Sarthe for the longest time was a weird absence from the Gr.1 Prototype Series career events, as it was held back until it could be added alongside the new Hypercars?

Well, I was just browsing the Event Directory and found another strange absence. Fuji Speedway, arguably the most famous Super GT circuit, currently doesn't feature in World Touring Car 900 (Gr.2). So perhaps that's being held back like La Sarthe was for Gr.1, for the eventual inclusion of more current GT500 machinery.

Another popular idea was that newer GT500's could be released alongside new track Motegi, which is believed to have been scanned & in development.
Well, when the new Hypercars were added, they added 3 new race events for them instead of just 1, so if we get a set of 3 new GT500's, we might also see 3 new races added for them:
  • Motegi
  • Fuji
  • Some random 3rd location already in-game

There's always the cult potential of the Twingo, but you'd be amazed at how many players simply don't have the three million to spare to buy even one hypercar. Which always baffles me as the game basically throws money at you as long as you race even a bit, let alone do the weekly challenges.

It does throw money at you to an extent but if you are unable to bag a gold or silver online time trial (and even then you have to wait around 2 weeks to claim your prize) you're left with 250k. Even adding the Weekly Challenges, that adds up to around 1.5 million max with clean racing bonuses. So, from scratch, it would take around 2 weeks to earn one LM hypercar if you don't participate anywhere else.
So, around 6-8 weeks to earn em all. Quite long if you think about it 🤷‍♂️

1.5 million for what amounts to about 40-60 minutes of work a week is a pretty generous payout, all things considered. On top of that, if all you're doing are Weekly Challenges and online Time Trials, then of course it'll take a long time to save up enough money: you're only playing a fraction of what the game has to offer.

Even if you only have 30 minutes a day to play, that's enough to do 1 grind race at Sardegna and to get the Daily Marathon ticket. That's 725k credits a day, 5 days a week (let's say it takes you two days total to finish all the weekly challenges), leading to over 5 million credits a week for someone who plays the game casually.

This is pretty much my strategy, and I've had no trouble saving money for the expensive stuff. I don't do any circuit experiences or missions, I don't race online, and I solidly post Bronze times on the online time trials.

Interesting theory. I've been doing some speculating myself, mainly the Red Bull X2014 Fan Car, after randomly appearing in the updated Apex Magazine, (Automotive Engineering, Sect. 4-2), and several GT sponsored cars, like the Ford Performance Mustang Mach E that ran at Goodwood last week. Just an idea, I probably will feature these in an update prediction next month

Fuji not only has a connection to the current Super GT cars as well as the 2016 and 2008 cars already present (and technically the Audi RS5 Turbo courtesy of the Dream Race) but it also has abit of an, admittedly unfortunate, connection to The Toyota GT-One.

I honestly could see that 3rd location either being Laguna Seca or the Red Bull Ring (More likely Red Bull Ring given its another track with changing weather). When you look at the WTC 900 events, many of them tie-in to the cars in the category in one way or another:

  • Autopolis (Super GT)
  • Nurburgring (DTM, FIA GT)
  • Suzuka (FIA GT, Super GT)
  • Circuit De La Sarthe (24 Hour Of Le Mans)
  • Spa (FIA GT)

And if you're familiar with the calendar for the 1997 and 1998 FIA GT Championship, both circuits featured on them. So it we apply said connections:

  • Motegi (Super GT)
  • Fuji (Le Mans Fuji 1000 KM, Super GT)
  • Laguna Seca (FIA GT) or Red Bull Ring (FIA GT)

Just something to think about

True looking at it that way, it appears quite generous. However, I'm not a fan of grinding the same races over and over. Sure, you could even do the Spa 800PP endurance race for an hour a day and get 1.6 million.
But then, I like to do other things with my time, not just invest it into GT7.
I know you will have players who focus solely on GT7 so to them, perhaps it isn't much.

I personally think they could bring the prices of some cars down. Twenty million credits for a Shelby Daytona or a Ferrari 250 GTO is beyond ridiculous IMO. It's a game at the end of the day- these cars aren't even models you put on your shelf. They're digital vapeware.

Am I the only one crazy enough to suggest that credits earning potential is, and rightfully should be, tied to skill level?

When people say they can't gold the circuit experiences, or online time trials, and then complain about not enough variety of events to earn good credits, is it taboo to say "git gud"?

Even then. Put the game in easy mode (no shame in that, certainly if you don't have a lot of time on your hands) and do LeMans grind.
Straight forward, easy track, easy CRB, lot's of cars to choose from.
There is always enough money to be made...

Clean race bonus guaranteed no matter how dirty the race is, provided you don't ignore yellow flags, should they ever happen.

Even as a relatively new GT player/simracer, I have to agree with this. I know some people are time poor (like me), but the somewhat quick learning curve I went through with a steering wheel meant I could still easily grind for expansive cars, but not without a lot of practice actually driving beforehand and some progression in the GT's career mode (when it came to offline). So yes, I guess we're both crazy

What they could do, is up the prize level for us "crap" players. Let's say, 1 million credits for bronze, 2 million for silver and 4 million for gold. Or alternatively, simply readjust the in-game pricing for halo cars to something more akin to 8 or 10 million rather than 20.
Not everyone has the time or inclination to "git gud"
Forza doesn't seem to have this issue and if grinding is the only way to accumulate credits quicker, is that really a good or fun system? For one thing, custom races have stupidly low payouts. There's another area that could be quite easily fixed.

Some car prices are absurd and GT7 does need a little payout increase, but even if you are a "bad" player the worst thing you can do is complain about the prices PD isn't going to fix. I'm not saying you should "git gud" as much, more "get patient." I respect your point though, not trying to talk down on you as I am in the same situation myself, as I mentioned earlier

the issue is that credit payouts are all over the place
you can get peanuts for some long and hard events and a lot more credits for a handful of events that are much easier

the result is that many players grind those events ad nauseam in order to get credits, contrarily to what Kaz told he wanted players to do

and even with those few low hanging fruits, you need to do an absurd amount of hours grinding if you want to buy all cars

I've invested over 500 hours in GT7 over 4 years so patience is something I'm used to.
Some players are just naturally excellent at racing games and all credit to them. I still maintain that the payout for most events is way too low compared to car prices.

On the other hand there is like 0 fun in collecting cars in Forza as you get one every 5 minutes. Today collected my last missing car in gt7 and took me 1140h on main account without grinding high paid races over and over again. Mostly getting money from golding weekly time trials (and of course finishing whole single player content). Thats probably too long but wouldn't change that, enjoyed the game.

I am a bit surprised it took you 1140 hours.
In my experience you can get all cars in about 400 hours of racing, without grinding.

Realy ? I guess money just slips through my fingers ;d But seriously I just spend decent time on time trials not only to gold it but push myself. Also after few times didn't bother with weekly races that are quite fast to get you decent money.

I speak for myself, but the Forza system isn't fun either when you are constantly awarded cars left and right. It takes away the "value" of each car (so to speak), and I don't think it would work well in a Gran Turismo.

That said, GT7 certainly has a problem with the race payouts, since there's only a handful of races that are actually worth doing for getting credits.
So after completing all other events (CEs, Licences, Missions...) getting credits in GT7 basically boils down to Time Trials, Weekly Challenges, and grinding the "best" events, which can get boring after some time. And for people that are limited on time, isn't enough to get every car.

This is patently untrue and I wish people would stop rolling the line out.

Grinding is only necessary if you want all the cars as fast as possible. "Organically" playing the game will get you the credits you need but it takes longer.

The issue is self-perpetuating. People want the best things yesterday, but should they take the time required to do such things in a non rushed manner, would actually see the natural skill improvement whilst they're doing it.

It's like wanting to have a university-level knowledge on a subject without going to the lectures.

I get what you're saying with Forza but ultimately, all the cars are digital and so can you really categorise them based on any "real" value? When I finally obtained a 20 million car in GT7, I wasn't particularly ecstatic. I was highly relieved, as if I'd been walking for hours in the scorching heat and found a 1l bottle of ice cold water to drink.

That one is because it was recycled from the GT6 edition of Beyond the Apex:
1784207575761.webp

This also explains why there is a DeltaWing in chapter 1-1 - it was also there in its GT6 counterpart chapter.

Personally I feel like a better solution for the car unobtainium issue would be to expand the roster available in Arcade Mode significantly, to include every car in the game, which is something that even GT4 didn't do entirely but is probably the closest that the franchise has done.
Oh and uh, to make Arcade Mode acccessible not just when disconnected from the servers...

On a tangent point, the Le Mans Prototypes back on GT4 cost 4.5 million credits, and none of them were available in Arcade Mode until you bought them in Career Mode.
