Not sure how safe it is, given many real world events have had to be cancelled in the region. Perhaps it's far enough away from the epicenter though.

2026 Iranian strikes on Jordan - Wikipedia

Wikipedia lists missile interceptions as recently as July, but things have quieted down. As always it's not entirely clear how many of these intercepted strikes were actually aimed at Israel, but the American troops there have also been a target. The American base that has been targeted repeatedly is about 100km from Amman.

It's a regional event - about half the countries that make up the MENA region are probably not much safer right now than Jordan. If this was a worldwide event I'm sure it wouldn't go forward.

And Amman is surrounded by palestinian / syrian refugee tents since something like forever. 100km west there is Jerusalem, 100km north there is Suwayda were dozen were recently murdered. They have a strange sense of timing.

Türkiye would have been a better pick.

The classes should be PP based if the developers are unwilling to make the groups accurate to reality. Think about the WTC events in career mode. Ideally, there should be free for all PP classes from 600 to 900PP alongside categories like GT4, GT3, Group C, Hypercar, TCR, GT500, LMP1-H, etc.

I had an idea: they could make more use of the tagging system - with tags for FIA GT3, Group C, and so on like you mention, and then feature certain events that limit players to certain cars that have those tags. Much like how we've had Sport Mode races that solely feature the Group C cars.

Are they allowed to use tags in specific scenarios? They call it the Elantra N TC '24 because they couldn't use the TCR name.

Of note: One of the classes is Japanese Le Mans racing cars. He almost certainly isn't picking one of those, before people get excited; it's not what the award is used for. Though I suppose it's possibly an opportunity to scan one should they be so inclined.

It's an interesting GT weekend coming up, for sure.

If you're a glass half full person: Interesting racing tomorrow, with a presentation of the next update likely, and then it's interesting to see what Kaz picks for Pebble Beach.

If you're a glass half empty person: Racing tomorrow which doesn't have a crowd behind it for atmosphere (and some people may or may not know the results in advance?), with a presentation of an update where we already know the cars in it, before Kaz picks a car that will end up in the series maybe in Gran Turismo 9.
 
Going back a smidge to the topic of circuit signage, this first image is most likely Circuit Gilles Villeneuve...

If it is, then it appears to have had "Emirates: Fly Better" advertising added to the walls, which is odd because when Polyphony changes sponsor billboards and advertising it's usually to brands that are in the game (such as in the default livery editor decal library), which Emirates is not.
If I had to guess where exactly it was if it is CGV, then the T5/6 area perhaps?
Unless it's a different circuit entirely, like the much-speculated Albert Park, though I'd be even less sure where on the track that would be, and if the foliage matches.

I don't see Gilles Villeneuve in that first image. The road is kind of shaped like T1-3 but the proportions are all wrong, and the big building in the foreground wouldn't make sense.

Am I missing something?

EDIT: After seeing it on the stream, yeah, it's CGV, I just didn't see it for some reason. Apologies.

I know there are many people who wish for more GT3 cars to be added into the game, but one name pops up way more often than any other: the M4 GT3. Anyone care to fill me in on why the car is so popular?

It just seems odd, especially considering that this exists...

It's a weird thing to bring up anyway - why would the one preclude the other - but when you consider that the estate/wagon/touring is not actually a GT3 car, it becomes a mite stranger.


I always find it amusing how people will plop their wish in random threads rather than the dedicated (and more organised) place PD asked us to set up for them to receive suggestions, and the M4 GT3 doesn't even have a thread in that forum because nobody's bothered.

Maybe because the Suggestions forum was set up 12 years ago, so what's the point of posting there when posts that have been up for longer will overshadow new posts for likes?
If a new one was set up at the start of each new game, then maybe it would be used more, but the current one dates back to the PS3 era.

What's the point of not posting there and just dumping your thoughts all over anywhere else? You can't get Likes for a car if it's not posted at all.

The forum is also date-sorted (descending) by default, not Like-sorted.

It's like for some people just giving their opinion is the point, and they don't actually have a goal of getting the car they supposedly want in the game.
