What's the point of not posting there and just dumping your thoughts all over anywhere else? You can't get Likes for a car if it's not posted at all.

The forum is also date-sorted (descending) by default, not Like-sorted.

It's like for some people just giving their opinion is the point, and they don't actually have a goal of getting the car they supposedly want in the game.

... then everyone who actually spent time and effort on creating their contributions would see it flushed.
Do Polyphony choose what cars they think people want purely by if it happens to be on page 1 when sorted by date? I'd have thought they'd pay way more attention to the number of likes a post gets. Or at least that would be a common user assumption.
The lack of an M4 GT3 page at all as you mentioned tells me there's an issue with the current system. You know how requested that car is in other places. Whether that's the age of the forum & legacy posts/votes putting some people off from trying to make new ones, or a lack of forum visibility/discoverability for there to be more engagement with the feature than there is, which leads to people posting here instead even though they shouldn't.

If a car or track is still wanted by someone 10 years later, they would just make a new post for it on an updated forum surely? Even if it's a copy/paste job.

Let's see your little forum when that comes out then... sick of it.

There is no reason to suppose that either is a factor, or that neither is.
The lack of an M4 GT3 page at all as you mentioned tells me there's an issue with the current system.
The issue being that people are more interested in slopping their whims everywhere (which is why you see it all over social media, where thought goes to die) than getting any actual tangible result, as they'd rather be angry about it not happening than it actually happening.

Forza basically (though not entirely) lifted the entire idea for their official site.

And once again, PD actually requested it. It's the only largely organised (I keep on going through cycles of sorting out the bad threads, but there's many, many pages and my time is literally what I sell) resource of its kind.

Oh and bear in mind we can see who, from where, is visiting what.

If you're putting all that information together and coming up with "hurr durr post wishlist in random news thread durr", I don't know what to tell you - but it probably wouldn't be much as it wouldn't go in.

Not that it's a discussion. The resource is there. Use it, or don't. If don't, additionally don't waste everyone's time with leaking fickleness anywhere but there or bitching about the fact the resource is there.

In slightly more interesting news, I spotted the back of the card Jules was holding during the live stream. Don't think there's anything of particular value on there, though why those cars in particular...

From what I see, those are only the VGT cars, can't see any new design.

I always find it amusing how people will plop their wish in random threads rather than the dedicated (and more organised) place PD asked us to set up for them to receive suggestions, and the M4 GT3 doesn't even have a thread in that forum because nobody's bothered.
I guess it's never too late to create one ... so there's a thread for the BMW M4 GT3 EVO (G82) now.

Maybe because the Suggestions forum was set up 12 years ago, so what's the point of posting there when posts that have been up for longer will overshadow new posts for likes?
If a new one was set up at the start of each new game, then maybe it would be used more, but the current one dates back to the PS3 era.
I must agree with this. The current suggestions forum deserves a makeover and probably a restart at the launch of a new GT game.

I'm sure they are capable of looking at both date and number of votes and deduce which recent additions seem to be highly requested.

I know there are many people who wish for more GT3 cars to be added into the game, but one name pops up way more often than any other: the M4 GT3. Anyone care to fill me in on why the car is so popular?
I think it mostly comes down to the drivers who drive them...

I get the impression the M4 GT3 wasn't spammed until Rossi drove it, just like they spammed the Ferrari 488 when he drove it at Dubai 12h back in 2019. It was the same story with the Ferrari 296 GT3 when Verstappen got behind the wheel. We also had weirdos asking for the AMG GT3 he drove without realizing it was already in the game.

Admittedly, there was already demand for these cars, just as there was for other GT3s, but not to the same extent.
The forums aren't overflowing with requests to see the Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3, the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R, or something like a Bentley Continental GT3 Evo to come to GT7.

It just seems odd, especially considering that this exists...

I just want it because the M6 feels absolutely ancient at this point.

To be honest I'm a little surprised by this, considering Mazda has spent a decade stuffing around with rotary concepts and haven't actually made a new production model, I thought GT would kind of forget about this car. But hey, don't think for one minute think I'm complaining, the upgrade looks sick as :D

I've also made a suggestion for the regular model as well.

Honestly I don't know where to go with my question and maybe it's even answered before.
There's been the GTWS event at Tokyo yesterday with the usual Viewers Campaign and two new winnable stealth cars.
Sadly I couldn't log in yesterday ( felt like a technical issue ) while today the respective on-screen buttons is gone.
Is there still a chance to receive the cars ?

Yes. You have until August 31st to, when it works again, click the two buttons.

There's a News article on the opening screen of the game, the campaign has been temporarily suspended for some technical problems. Seems to be the same as this.

Before the technical issues on the game's side, the Manufacturers' Cup on PS5 was one lap ahead of the Youtube stream.

Also to those who don't know or are unaware of the Viewer's Gift campaign, you only need to watch one second of the stream and you're good.

So...

The 20m credit cap for car valuation was first seen in Gran Turismo 5 in 2010. It was intended, sort of, to provide an "absolutely priceless" real-world context to some of the vehicles. The cap has persisted for 16 years now, by far the longest in the entire series, and continues to be the cap even in the Legends Dealer where cars are often adjusted to reflect real-life valuations per Hagerty.

Several 20m credit cars in the game are no longer anywhere near as inexpensive in the real world. An HDK-added McLaren F1 road car sold for $25m, the W196R sold for $55m, one 250 GTO sold at $62m, and Carroll Shelby's own Shelby Daytona - like the one we're currently time-trialling - just sold for $42m including fees.

We know* we've got an update coming this week which at least changes physics (due to the one-week time trial), normally suggesting that it's a more significant update.

Given the above, and the game's 100m (free) credit limit, what odds we'll see a change to the 20m car valuation cap - if not in this update but relatively soon/within GT7's lifetime?

*as much as we can ever

you only need to watch one second of the stream and you're good.
You don't even need to do that. Clicking the "Watch Stream (Entry Available)" button itself is enough. You can back out right away, at the Twitch/Youtube selection screen.

As long as they change it once I've got the last of the cars I need, just not this week please 😉

FH5 has a car for 143 million credits so as long as GT7 doesn't get that high we should be good. of course I mean the credit would have to raise aswell

At least FH games give you 1 free car voucher to spend as you like (you can purchase others for real money). There is an idea, GT7 should have car/engine vouchers as rewards.

Considering how the 20m cap has existed for so long, I don't really see them changing it in GT7's remaining lifetime. Maybe something they would consider in the next title instead, if they ever decide to do it.

But if they were to do it in GT7, it would probably be done in a major update, not a standard one. A good amount of people already complain about how "grindy" GT7 is, so I frankly don't see them removing the 20m credit cap for cars without overhauling the credits earned in races and other events, or without adding more ways to earn credits.

Well, I don’t really care – I’ve got all the cars and I’ve already had the 100 million. If I stop earning credits from the races, the game loses its appeal for me, even though I don’t know what to do with all that money. I’d almost prefer there to be other incentives to keep playing. I did the 10 million engine swap just to get rid of some money.

I've also made a suggestion for the regular model as well.
Does there really need to be a regular and evo suggested I mean all bmw did was change the headlights and brake lights other than that they're the same

externally yes plus some aero changes - The Evo features smaller aerodynamic side mirrors, larger air outlets/louvers on the front wheel arches, and revised rear wing adjustment ranges to optimize medium-speed aero and reduce drag

Decided to run some numbers on the Racing Cars added to GT7 since the games launch, and the distribution of said cars among the current group system.

Findings:

- Some people for a while bemoaned the lack of race cars, and with the data I collected I can see why they felt that way, particularly in 2025, which had a big drought of racing cars, going from the January update to December without any new additions.

- Only 2024 went by without a new real-world GT3 car, which combined with the 296 GT3 not coming until December of 2025 again explains some peoples frustration of the lack of "modern" race cars, even if other racing cars, particularly historic machines, were still interspersed within updates.

- Despite the frustration around a lack of modern race cars having some validity with this data, machines built from 2020 onwards still have the lions share of new race cars added post launch, with 90's cars and cars without a model year tying for second largest share of new vehicles.

- So far this year (2026) has seen the most new racing car additions since the games first year of post-launch content, mainly bolstered by the June update with the 4 Hypercars. This is not including the recently revealed RX-Vision Gr.3 Evo that will be coming to the game this year, nor the long rumored M3 GT3, which isn't included in the count since we have no idea if/when it will come to the game, nor does the count include any datamined cars.

- Group 3 has seen new additions every year, while Group 4 has only seen 2 new cars total, the Mazda3 Gr.4, and Hyundai Elantra Touring Car. Group B has been surprisingly consistent, only MIA during 2023 and so far in 2026, while Group 2 like Group 4 has only had 2 additions, the RS5 in 2023 and the GT-One in 2024.

- Outside of the Pikes Peak Escudo, every non-grouped race car added in GT7 has been some form of Formula racer.

- There have only been 3 "dream cars" released in GT7 so far, with a 4th on the way with the Evo-spec RX-Vision, not counting the F3500 brothers as they are their own thing.

- All but one of the race cars released in 2026 + the last update of 2025 (The exception being the F3500B) have been the aforementioned Modern Racing cars people have been clamoring for, which does make me wonder slightly if this is a measure to extend the interest in GT7 in it's twilight years, as even if GT8 gets announced by the end of 2026, I'd expect at least a year before any further major announcements, plus the usual customary delays we know PD for. And that's not touching on the PS6 and RAM chips.

Interesting analysis! Nonetheless whenever I hear cries for new Race Cars, all I actually hear is "we want a new meta".

What I'm getting at, is that I think PD could calm a lot of the criticism if even 50% of the cars available in Group 3 and Group 4 were competitive, for starters.

A favourite will always emerge over time, but it bores the hell out of me that on that rare occasion they do add another one, it's absolutely inevitable that it becomes the meta (or one of them).

Why not just shake up the current roster more frequently?
