Pretty sure high framerate mode does not have RTThat's because you can't disable ray tracing on the Pro like you can on a standard PS5.

Not really, because RT is what is causing the remaining instability. Seeing reports that it is very crispy in 120 hz modeI guess, but you would be sacrificing even more image clarity. Not to mention that 120Hz might be only in-game so garage, GT auto ect would still have RT issues. Gonna see for myself soon.
A PS5 Pro system update launched today (or very late yesterday for the US) which enables you to force games that have PSSR implemented to use the latest upgraded version. It is an official implementation, though PD and other devs may later issue their own tailored updates with more changes. Are you impliying that the new PSSR which has not been officially implemented into GT7 is doing some changes to image clarity? I highly doubt it is doing anything whatsover. Can you share some pictures?
GT7 on the Pro doesn’t really just have quality and performance modes. PSSR can be enabled whether prioritizing graphics/raytracing or framerate, and with or without enabling 120 Hz output.
It does work in other games with both modes as well. It’s most effective in performance modes.
It is still very much there, just try and see with the Impreza 2004.As for the shimmering on alloys wheels I used to see in the autoshop garage main menu gt7, this has considerably been reduced for me.
Pretty sure TDU SC doesn’t support any version of PSSRI see, thanks. I tried tdu sc and there is a difference in performance mode but quality seems untouched as its still laggy.

Yeah, on my PS5P I see the shimmering on wheels and I still see the tearing on the bottom of cars during a race. However, I was racing in low light in my room and there wasn’t any skipping. Game play was smooth and the rendering looked sharp. I then watched a couple replays after races and they looked more sharp than I’ve ever noticed before. It is still very much there, just try and see with the Impreza 2004.
Hmm, that's a quiet tricky one, eeeeh, you tryna grab my ... Broooo, chill lol.Is this improvement bigger than the improvement you saw a few days ago when the game update came out?![]()
On Samsung S90C I still see absolutely no difference between
4k, VRR, 120hz, performance mode, PSSR off
4k, VRR, 120hz, ray tracing mode, PSSR on
Except the usual things that got worse with ray tracing mode:
-in garage/GT auto/photomode: flickering and blurry rims, carbon fiber, emblems etc
-in-race: very low quality ghost
Please help me understand what looks better. Where and when, and exactly how to get that graphical improvement.
Are there comparisons videos yet? Digital Foundry soon?
Until then, I'll stick to the first option above. Which is already pretty good.
P.S. Why hasn't PD fixed the problem with ray tracing yet?
Yes, since the console update was todayDid you turn it on via the PS5 screen settings? (not GT7)
It's off by default after the update, so there will be some people who get the update and think nothing more to do.Yes, since the console update was today

Not related to PSSR nor any specific Upscale Algorithm.Weird. Because I'm still getting those ugly blurry and flickering rims, emblems, carbon surfaces, shift knobs etc...
Excellent summary which perfectly aligns with everything I observed too...Just tried Kyoto (again, one of the worst tracks with PSSR in my opinion), flipped between PSSR on and off, and the image as a whole is definitely sharper. What bothered me the most before were the white lines, but those seem to be on par with PSSR off now. One, maybe an unwanted effect of the sharper image, is that the barriers and fences still shimmer quite a bit, and it sticks out a bit more.
@Butzke
Not sure if it has been the case before, but with framerate mode on and PSSR off, the cutscenes (garage, GT auto ect) are indeed without RT. 120Hz is noticeably less sharp, and if you turn PSSR on, you get the shimmer back.
Man, seeing how clean the game looks without RT on is pretty wild.
EDIT
Basically:
1. In-game, Quality with PSSR is now a bit better.
2. Cutscenes in Performance mode with PSSR off do not have RT (may have been the case before on Pro)
3. 120Hz with PSSR is surprisingly good.
This exact combination is what makes this PSSR2 Update really flex .Frame rate still lives in the 95-105 range. Ill stick with 120hz and Priority RT. Looks amazing and delivers a mostly locked in 119fps. Even at this weeks Kyoto Porsche challenge it only drops to 117-115 a few times.

Just rewatched the digital foundry article on GT7 on PS5 pro and they state as soon as 120hz is selected ray tracing is disabled entirely.
Lighting should be the same since there's no ray tracing in gameplay in the 120hz mode, but you do get a higher resolution I believe at 120hz mode with favour ray tracing and resolution mode.I use that setting for the improved graphics and lighting. FPS does take a small hit in some situations but not that often.

It's PD's crappy denoiser that they haven't improved since launch. Nothing to do with PSSR. And RT stays on in the garage when you leave PSSR on, actually, regardless of the actual RT setting.Even after PSSR 2.0 (not officially implemented by Polyphony) the fizzing on the wheels and reflective surfaces is pretty much the same and looks awful with or without PSSR. I hope that if they ever patch the game that these get fixed. I do now know why it looks so crisp without RT though (it also looks bad with RT OFF but PSSR ON).
