Do you want more detailed and realistic physics on the next GT

People have to understand that at the end of the day GT is a GAME franchise made for mass appeal and retention. I still consider myself casual even tho I've clocked well over 2k hours in every GT game since GT3 and GT7 was the first game where I felt like I didn't enjoy wrestling with my joystick every time I wanted to drive anything with over 200HP. If it weren't for this update I would've eventually just delete the game. There's a reason why the "Driving is easy, racing is hard" philosophy they had for GT Sport worked.
Sure it's a game, but maybe it need adjustment for controllers players for sure, but the sad news is the experience is toned down for wheels players as well
Maybe ad a specific assistance that players can engage or not as GSA will be the answer

Has this thread suddenly plunged back to ****? Are people seriously saying that the game is too easy now? I suggest you race against skilled players with tyre wear, fuel consumption and dynamic weather, as the game is supposed to be played - then tell me it's easy.

So dumb.
Watch @AlexWilmot post on page 139 mate. 2 of the best players in the world saying there's too much grip with the new update. The problem is you and there is no need to insult, thanks.

And yes, it's easy after the 1.13 update ;)

Force feedback is still bad. I’m using the GT DD Pro and it’s so numb feeling. I can’t feel what the tyres are doing a lot of the time because there just isn’t enough detail in the FFB.
Same with G29.. Wish we could feel tyres more same as in Assetto Corsa.. I give it few more months, if they don't fix it i'm gonna finally buy PC. I get we still have sim racing games on PS5 like ACC but on peak time in EU there's about 50 players in total online while on PC about 2500,and 10,000 in AC😅

What the heck!? What have they done to this game? Now it is a pure arcade experience. The physics were absolutely incredible. I really enjoyed driving in this game. First they downgraded all the effects and then they did the same to the physics. What a shame. What an incompetent developer.

Two of the best Gran Turismo players. These are people who are fast because they are really good at driving within the physics model of this particular game. That in no way makes them qualified to judge whether or not the physics are closer or further away from real life (unless they are indeed real life racing drivers), it only makes them qualified to share their opinion on whether the physics are now better or worse than before.

I spend a lot of time racing on AMS2, AC and ACC on PC and honestly I couldn’t recommend a PC enough. FFB is incredibly well-detailed on those sims compared to GT7, which is probably why I’m not getting on well with GT7’s physics model.

Nah its simply individual. For example kie25 was project cars esport player and when playing only iracing has was close to 5k rating in this game but now he enjoy gt7 the most.

So you're telling us that the way the 458 GT3 is passing through the kerbs in Ascari is right and better than before the update where the car was unsettled and a loss of traction was expected?
There is no need to be "qualified" mate to see we are back to GTS physics with the cars able to "eat" the kerbs like it's nothing and RH tires stick to the ground like glue.

A huge part of the keynote they did before the release was about the new physics and how the suspension model was improved and they do this? I don't buy it.

Mate, I played for several hours yesterday night with the AMG GT3 (very much improved regarding its performances with the new BoP), the car was tricky for a Mercedes on corner exits, even on 3rd gear before the update. It's flat throttle now like it was on GTS and the car doesn't move. Don't tell me you need TC, it's a pure lie.
It has way too much grip on the rear end for a GT3 car. The V8 has a lot of torque, no way you can go that hard on the throttle IRL without TC. Sorry but it's back to GTS physics and I have a lot of miles on this game so I can tell I have a reference.

It wasn't that far off actually, I just think they added too much grip on the rear and forgot about the feelings in the wheel.
I should’ve clarified, I was responding to your point that we were back to GTS physics, I took that to mean as a whole but GT7’s physics are still the same, the only difference is rear-end grip.

I would add the feeling of the aspects of the road in the FFB and the kerbs. Cars are not unsettled anymore which is the same as GTS.
But I agree with you regarding rear-end grip.

Real ferrari gt3 driver David Perel:

They were wonderful to drive at speed but you really had to watch out for the rears. I didn’t find the McLaren too difficult to keep them from spinning up, you just had to be careful on the throttle, but due to the downforce you could get on the power much quicker than road cars. I suspect you couldn’t push them like in real life, though, because of the wheelspin.

It could be that I wasn’t having too many issues because I wasn’t pushing enough, taking longer to get to full throttle, and thus if I tried to reach full throttle as fast as a driver in real life, I would’ve had serious problems with wheelspin.

The Mustang I did have issues with, I was trying to squeeze every tenth I could out of it and the rears just lit up, you had to be really gentle with the throttle.

McLaren gt3 was nice to drive even before patch, was one of easiest mr cars.

Interesting from David Perel mate. It looks like he hasn't tried the game with the new update though.

Kie however is comparing ACC to GT7 which is quite funny because you don't race in ACC without TC (like IRL), it's actually very hard to stay on track without it. He plays GT7 all day long, he should know that as we don't use TC in GT because it makes you slower. It should be the opposite effect actually. So comparing feelings in ACC with TC ON vs GT7 with TC OFF is not relevant.

In the end, and it's in my very first message on this thread, my opinion is that they added too much grip on the rear-end, but it feels better on the front-end. I suppose it's no big deal as a lot of updates will be released :)

Yeah, that would indeed come under a physics change. But overall I personally feel it’s better than it was pre-patch. I have no reference but it’s more drivable than before, which was said to be unrealistically unforgiving past the limit of grip, and now people have said how it’s more true to life based on their experiences in the same car.

FFB is an odd one, 7 as a whole seems like a step back over Sport, and even moreso now after the update. Hopefully they can get it back to GTS levels soon and even better over time.

Oh sure he knows and complain often that tc is too agressive in gt

Just Tried GT3RS, 458 GT3 and Alfa 4c road car after the update.

It seems the update just took away some front end grip to "improve" the physic? I also found the 458 and 4c are now harder to drive as they seems to snap easier but less willing to point to apex upon entry, while the GT3 RS seems to have more "hang time" before it lost traction and snap

BTW before the update I would add driver's weight onto RR Porsche, and it seemed to claim the car down a bit. Maybe PD never thought car manufactures actually took that into account.

Yes, I felt the same, like there is more understeer now in FR cars. Before the update the E30 and E46 M3 had no such understeer.

All those people who said the physics were too difficult before 1.13, never considered to switch on TCS during a race instead of complaining?

Maybe they thought TCS was only for newbies inable to drive properly with the physics of GT7 and not for them ... ?

It has been suggested...

Look someone else completely missing the point people were making, good job, turning on TCS does not fix the issues with the physics and FFB.

It has been suggested...

It's been suggested and explained to those people multiple times how they don't understand what people are saying.

Exactly that is the point... again and again I read here in the forum: "Don't use TCS it makes you slower... I don't use TCS because it interferes too hard.....I don't use TCS because I have a I'm a good driver and don't need any help" The funny thing for me was that after what I could find out, many of them didn't really have a good time in the Nordschleifen CE, some of them weren't even able to make gold there (beware of the Patch !! )

Well, before the patch I drove a 6:32.xxx WITH TCS1 there and I felt that even with TCS even more would have been possible, but getting it in one lap is NOT easy, especially on the Nordschleife. BUT it was proof that you can be really fast even with TCS.

But these eternal prejudices and half-truths are just ridiculous.
ATTENTION ... YES without TCS the really good drivers are definitely faster, but many of those who reject TCS and/or ABS are further away from this group of drivers than they think.

ABS is mandatory to be fast and has nothing to do with your skills, otherwise real GT3 pilots should be called noobs.

Regarding rear-end grip, I think there is a misunderstanding with the TCS. I think it was normal to lose the rear grip without TC. Is it really relevant to be "heavy" on the throttle with the car sticking to the road like it does now? I'm not so sure.
So David Perel comparing with his real experience is interesting but is he taking into account the fact that the experienced simmers drive without TC in Gran Turismo, so the car would be oversteery on throttle?

Now if they could fix a car like an Evo VI losing grip in a straight line in the wet at less than 70mph, that would be great. Cars don't fall off the road that easily in standing water at that speed with modern tyres, let alone one with 4WD.

Have you driven a 4wd before? I got a full ride to Rutgers back in 04 my parents bought me an STI for my hard work… I remember one early morning we had conditioning and it was rainy I went to pick up my teammates and in the lot I had to be going no more than 15mph… went to make a turn and slid right into the dumpster.. I was shocked and devastated.

I've already "swimmed" several meters in my car at a much lower speed, and that on the freeway... it always depends on the road and the amount of water. The fact that there is no information in the game about how much water in cm or liters per m² is on the track is all just ... well a feeling.

At a speed of 110 you can float up with every imaginable car, whether FF/FR/AWD, the type of drive has nothing to do with the fact of the float.
It's all about the ability of the tires to displace water, the amount of water on the track and the speed being driven.

I also hit the wall badly in the manufacturers' cup with my M6 by swimming violently. The bad thing was, I had just switched from rain tires to IM and at the point where I crashed, I drove long with the rain tires without any problems.

Just wanted to say… Ouch.

I don't have problem with TSC at all, can't really drive without it if the car is pass 450 hp.

But don't know what to say to those who turn on both ASM and Counter steer, and claim the RR Porsche is very easy to drive...
