The one time I do not watch the State Of Play...and there's Gran Turismo news...

Looks like they solved the problem to the lack of new Driving Missions. Now it looks as if they're going to be Weekly Challenges, a nice breath of fresh air! Probably the best thing about this update to me!

It'll be like the GT5/GT6 days in keeping track and archiving all the seasonal challenges that came out every week. The nostalgiaaaa

I wonder what engine swaps will drop in Spec III? I know they probably won't add the Speed 12 so maybe they can give the Tuscan a V-12 swap? One can always hope

Really hyped for CGV. I’m expecting all those rendered scraps on the Wall of Champions. Plus, slowing down from high( speeds to navigate each corner. Pure love.

YMC is going to look awesome during replays at all times of day. A nice long lap in some touring cars and slow road cars. Entering and exiting the pits will be a bit sad if we can’t experience it from behind the cockpit. Gonna be a long three months.

Complete speculation on my end, and someone might've already mentioned it, but with 2 tracks used in F1 and it being a December update (likely after the F1 season is over), I have a feeling one of the remaining 4 will be one of the current F1 cars.
That would be awesome. For what it’s worth I heard Kaz say Formula 1 when he was talking about the tracks in the update trailer, which wasn’t in the subtitles, maybe for licensing reasons?

It’s likely he was just saying that the tracks are raced in F1, but maybe part of an F1 themed update!

My jaw literally dropped. Wow. Two incredible real life tracks that wlll be making their GT debut, FINALLY we've got a replacement for the 458, some other super cool cars and for me personally, the official return of the Mine's brand makes me so incredibly happy.
I can't wait to find out what those tracks are. Maybe one of them will be at Apricot Hill Raceway. I was not a fan of Cote D Azur. That track drove me crazy in the last exam in the Super License test back when I had the ps2.

I step away from the internet for a bit to enjoy the latest update, and this drops. Really looking forward to the new features, more than anything else. Although, having another classic F1 car is certainly pretty exciting on it's own. I hope it is a classic Benetton style V8 F1 car. I can't wait to hear it.

I can't wait to find out what those tracks are.
We already know what they are. It's Yas Marina and Circuit de Gilles Villeneuve.

Read back a dozen of so posts the tracks are listed...

Curious what these mean:

Improvements to online races
- Return of shuffle races? Probably not, but would be cool 😄
I’m hoping (and I think it’s likely) that’ll it’ll be a lot of backend stuff and adjustments for lobbies. GT7 hasn’t had host migration and it’s kneecapped the active community aspect of the game. Maybe some new modes too? But its really just the stability and ease of use that’s needed the overhaul, last time I tried to use it it genuinely felt like i was back in 2011 trying to play GT5 on my mom’s portable WiFi router trying to get signal between the branches of the trees surrounding our house, not knowing if the lobby crash was me, the game, or the host every 30-40 minutes or so.

I am hyped for this new F1 car in particular. Seems like this one will be a homage to the 1994 season of F1, as the F3500-A was a homage to 1991/1992, and from the trailer this sounds like it has a V8 engine to go with its Benetton B194-like appearance.

Makes me wonder what parts from other 1994 F1 cars will appear as customization options?
And, if this also has exhaust upgrades (like the F3500-A), I wonder what they'll do with the sound? Will it be variations of a V8 note, or will they push it further and have V10/V12 sounds too?

Maybe the name would be F3500-B, could be F3000-A. Could be either, or something entirely different!

This is so fun to speculate..

And further about this car, I may have found some more details. To the best of my detective ability lol

And I posted the pictures into the article pinned to the front of the site as well, along with some elaborations on what layouts there may be.
I mean, I don't think that this is too subtle:

Ok, thanks. I'm so busy now that I can't keep up with all this. I need a calendar to document any important events and updates coming up in Gran Turismo news. That would help me be more organized.

Great looking update! Can't wait to see Circuit Gilles Villeneuve presented in beautiful Gran Turismo style. Went to the Montreal GP 4 times in the early 2000's (M. Schumacher won all 4, I don't think Jacques finished any of them) as it's just a 4 hour drive down the road from me, so really looking forward to waving at my general admission spot as I blast by in the game (I do that in F1 games too)

The cars look decent enough so far, any new Ferrari is good with me. And the various other things they've teased look great. Really interested in what the changes to sport mode will be. Can we hope for a better penalty system?

Anyway, it's nice to see such a substantial update this far into the game's life. Bring on December.

*gratuitous pic of yours truly, really drunk, during the track walk after the 2002 GP

Just been gobsmacked

I honestly saw this and immediately thought what a load of s**te, then i clicked on link and my phone fell out of my hand as I saw it was legit....
Talk about dreams coming true....View attachment 1481547what is this car?
That would be the early-mid 90s F1 spec that replaced the Newey-designed Williams spec we got a few updates back.
Basically, we'll be able to make accurate versions of Schumacher's Benettons and other F1 cars of the era.
