The "GT7 is dying" comments have already started, I saw them on the HSG video...
"Funny" to hear this... We might get a track or nice events to go with. The "GT7 is dying" comments have already started, I saw them on the HSG video...
More likely LeMons.I thought we might see one of the following Toyota GT-One (TS020), Porsche 963, Nissan R390 etc considering it's the hundredth Le Mans 24 Hours in a few weeks time.
I reckon even Grand Theft Auto might do something for Le Mans.
I mean, GT7 has been dying since launch. All the things we've really gotten are:The "GT7 is dying" comments have already started, I saw them on the HSG video...
I'm holding out for the ability to buy S Parts and engine swaps. I remain doubtful, though. Frankly we have plenty of cars, the issue is not having any single player events in which to use the majority of them.
On an unrelated note, I've got the 1st gen DSM Eclipse 1.8 base version sitting in a barn. The Eclipse wasn't made in Japan and even if there was some that were imported I imagine it would be hard to track down there.
I've been racing in the "Old, Weird & Slow" lobby & the only way to get fairly close races is to limit hp & weight. Bop & PP restrictions just don't cut it.What I’m waiting for in one of these updates is a way to class cars together competitively. I know we can match up cars, but it takes time. My friends and I did up some trans am camaro’s. They’re fun to drive. I tried tuning the 69 vette the same way, it blows the Camaro away. So I’m slowly de-tuning it so they’re competitive. But it’s tricky. The best racing is from just all driving the same car with exact tunes. I know there’s BoP and tuning prohibited but that doesn’t work.
I would like to see some kind of equalizer or even if they did some tuning for us, we could apply the tunes to the cars and race em. Like the challenger, Camaro, mustang, corvette and GTO would be cool to be able to load those up, apply the “PD-muscle car tunes” to each car, get out on the track and have close racing with different cars.
With all that being said, I hope we get a new track or two with this update and some different layouts and better payouts for those of us that hardly play single player at all.
I mean, GT7 has been dying since launch. All the things we've really gotten are:
Cars, tracks, Menu books & Scapes
Car selling
Physics updates
Beyond that, nothing significant. The game still functions the same, with merely the events number has increased, but we still don't have new championships, any career building at all, and no use for higher than A license.
Okay, anything else I missed then?Na you’re right. It’s not like they implemented full VR compatibility or anything like that
So stop playing and stop paying attention. I'm sure if a "major update" by your definition comes out, there will be press about it.I mean, GT7 has been dying since launch. All the things we've really gotten are:

While doing the Lap Time Challenges counts as playing, I don't consider myself playing GT7 properly. So stop playing
Yes, yes, they implemented VR, but other than that, what have the Romans ever done for us?Na you’re right. It’s not like they implemented full VR compatibility or anything like that
You’re never going to hear an argument from me that there’s a lack of proper events.Okay, anything else I missed then?
But it's not like everyone has VR, especially PS4 users. And while VR compatibility provides a much better immersion, it still means the game functions the same: a sandbox game where you create your own activities.
Since when has stopping and not paying attention been a solution? This will only make you regret the purchase even more. So I’d recommend sticking around and keep on voicing the complaints. So stop playing and stop paying attention. I'm sure if a "major update" by your definition comes out, there will be press about it.
Well get this, the corvette is 366hp and like 2970lbs the Camaro is 367hp and 2800lbs. The corvette walks away. I noticed the corvette is 411 ft/lbs of torque and the Camaro is around 330 ft/lbs of torque. Which explains a lot so I may try to balance the vette yet again. Also the Camaro has better hp to weight ration, technically it should be walking away from the vette according to the tune numbers but it isn’t. The vette is lower PP too by about 8pp. So some of this stuff isn’t a good representation of lap times etc.I've been racing in the "Old, Weird & Slow" lobby & the only way to get fairly close races is to limit hp & weight. I was thinking perhaps Apples or Oranges but Lemons works well enough….More likely LeMons.
Well, people being stuck with older generation hardware (PS4 in this case), may not be on them. You know, as money does not grow on trees, not everyone has 500$/€ laying around to spend on a console. People forget that the price of a PS5, may be pretty much the same between the USA and other countries where the minimum wage is 1/4 of the US's (or even worse). You’re never going to hear an argument from me that there’s a lack of proper events.
But to be fair, VR basically reinvents the GT7 sandbox into an entirely different game. I don’t even grind anymore (not that I ever did). Rather, I just hotlap, do custom races, or my own time attack shootouts consisting of different eras of cars.
But even long before VR on GTS, I took it upon myself to change the experience and drive completely in cockpit view. The tools to make your own fun are definitely there. It’s just up to you to make a 7 course meal from a buffet, rather than having it curated for you. And I understand that this probably doesn’t appeal to the vast majority of the younger gaming generation.
As far as PS4 users being denied of things like VR and Sophy..
As bad as I feel for saying this (and with full understanding that a PS5/PSVR2 combo is going to run about $1100). Anyone who is currently choosing to stick with the previous generation hardware, it’s on them. This game was always supposed to be a PS5 exclusive. Covid changed that. Covid is now over, and supply chain issues in regards to PS5’s are no longer an issue. Polyphony making the smart business decision of supporting PS4 was a gift. Now, people who are choosing to white-knuckle their PS4, are only selling themselves short.
Just like GTS was a necessary step for Console racing games to fully embrace E-sports. GT7 is a necessary step to fully incorporate VR into a racing game for the masses. That alone, wether it currently benefits the individual or not, is worth the accolades. GT7 has literally become the GTAIII of racing games in one year.
I believe they still scan it from scratch even if it is 99% the same car.Sometimes it almost comes across as laziness to me. Like we need something to fill in this DLC, so let's just do a variation of a car that's already in game. Least if they we're going to give us another variation of a GT-R they could of give us the Nismo 400r, I'd of been delighted with that
That said, the Guilia Sprint is a very welcome addition. Not really bothered about the Ford Maverick, why couldn't they of give us that awesome Civic that won the award the previous year.
The Impul car has been in plenty of games. I’d love it if they put in the actual Godzilla cars of Gibson Motorsport.I wouldn't mind (in fact I would've been pleased) if it was the R32 Calsonic #12 (the Godzilla). But it looks like yet another road going R32... A SEMA awards car that only a minority care about. The Alfa is a good addition.
As far as cars go, and that's the only thing we can talk about for now, not really something that brings interest back into the game.
Then again, not hopeful of any decent events being added either. It seems like every race above 1hr is a waste of time for PD, fixing the custom races rubberbanding AI, alongside it's payouts, isn't of much interest for them either.
Well, the year still has some months left, so if they rack up updates with 6+ cars, they can balance it out. But I'm not holding my breath for that. And more importantly than the quantity, it's the "quality" of cars, where about half of them so far have been a huge hit or miss (VGT's, near duplicates, etc).
