Well, people being stuck with older generation hardware (PS4 in this case), may not be on them. You know, as money does not grow on trees, not everyone has 500$/€ laying around to spend on a console. People forget that the price of a PS5, may be pretty much the same between the USA and other countries where the minimum wage is 1/4 of the US's (or even worse).

As for the way you play, well, that's on you. Expecting everyone else to play a GT game exactly like you, is just way too arrogant. The matter of the fact is, that this game, lacks in a lot of things (a campaign for instance). Which gets a lot worse, when grinding is a requirement for a huge portion of the play styles people may have in a game like this. If to access the base content of the game, people need to play the game as if it's a full time job, then there's a problem. People act like this is a F2P game, and not a fully priced one.

The reality of this game is, if you, as a player, have some sort of project that forces you to buy a lot of cars, and in some cases multiples of the same car, then you are screwed.

I'm in no way advocating that money grows on trees, or that people should play the game the way I choose to do so. I've done a complete 180 from how I played GTS; which consisted of me doing 95% sport mode - to which I loved every second of. All I'm eluding to, is that there are ways to play the game other than needlessly grinding for cars. Buuuuuuuuut, if you're the sort of person that needs to have all the cars right now, then yes.... you're going to have to grind, unfortunately. However, if you don't require the instant gratification of your dream garage right now, then yes.... there are many different creative ways to play the game, and more than a few "clubs" on the forum that will show you how.

As far as people being tied to a PS4 seemingly due to financial reasons, I get it. But on the other side of that same token, I have a hard time believing that had Covid not become what it did - and GT7 was released as a PS5 exclusive as planned, very few fans of the franchise would have allowed themselves to be left in the dust. They would have figured out a way to be able to afford a PS5 (assuming they are of working age). Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember the outcry of GT6 on PS3, being the exact opposite in that the fans were wondering why it hadn't been released on the new generation hardware. And just like then as it was 18 months ago, it was a smart business decision by Sony at the time. However, now that supply chain issues are no longer an issue, it will be a smart business decision by Sony to start making "PS5 Exclusive" updates for all of their first party titles, forcing people into new consoles. Not to mention, that there's another completely relevant side that's seldom talked about in regards to PS5 owners and Cross-Get titles...

.... That those PS5 owners deserve to have a game that fully takes advantage of the new-get console that they spent their hard-earned money on. Especially when taking into account how long games take to develop these days. They may never get to play their favorite franchise that was optimized for their current hardware. Although to counter my own aforementioned point; I think Sony will delay PS6 by at least a year or two, because the demand for a new generation system would have been staved off for an additional 2 years because of previous supply-chain issues.

Regardless, I think it would be safe to assume that PD/Sony will start opening up the content drip as Forza's release draws nearer. They'd be dumb not too. And this is good for everyone

I don't see the point of an update that doesn't add anything to Sport Mode, the main tool and current focus of the franchise. I really like these cars, of course, the problem is that for the current gamedesign of GT7 they are useless, they only serve as a decoration jar.

I'm saying that PD should create events both online and in campaign mode so that these cars are used more frequently, as well as an update program always launching some racing cars, especially Gr.2 and Gr.1, categories extremely outdated or obsolete.

Oh yes the obligatory "gT7 iS dOoMeD" ... until next time
Every time I read a “the sky is falling, someone do something!” Comment, I’m often reminded of this clip….

warning! Expletives present!!*

And it’s perfect, because I get to poke fun at myself as an everlasting PD-lover and defender. And it also perfectly captures the essence of the small group of people whom interpret every GT7 update as a deliberate, personal attack against them

Leave Kaz Alooooooooooone!!! 🤣

I'm highly curious about that R32. I bet it's some sort of Nismo model, like we've seen in previous games. But I'm especially happy we're getting more Alfa Romeo models, as they have a history that goes back over a century. We probably wouldn't have Ferrari (and by extension, Lamborghini nor Pagani) if we didn't have Alfa Romeo.

Personally, I still think we need a lot more Alfa Romeo models, like the Tipo 33 Stradale, the original TZ, the return of the TZ3 among others, and the SE 048 SP for a potential Gr.1 car. But I digress - I'll take almost any model at this point. Even the Stelvio Quadrifoglio.

EDIT: The SEMA winner is also neat, but if we can't see the return of the older SEMA winners, then I'd really like to see more tuners in general, such as SARD, Mine's, HKS, and/or Tommykaira.
I would love to see the return of all the previous SEMA winners. Maybe locate them all under the ‘SEMA’ brand, but seeing them all updated and maintained (like what they do with the VGTs) would be really appreciated

I hope they do, but I've always got the impression that Kaz and PD pay very little attention to Forza. Didn't Kaz once say something similar in an interview, too? Lately it's almost as his vision is the only thing that steers the direction this game takes, and feedback doesn't seem to come into it very much, except in really extreme cases like the payout nerf last year.

I'm 40 years old, make $90k a year, and live alone with plenty of disposable income. I'm not buying a $500 console for one game no matter what it is.

I don't understand the selection of cars in this game. Why not add the normal version?

Because the point of the SEMA award is for the tuner to get their car into GT, not to get the base model in. The value is as much in having "Greening Auto" show up in Brand Central so people learn about the winning tuner as it is the actual car.

one thing called License
Ah, the catch all excuse everyone's so eager to make on behalf of the developers for anything and everything when it comes to GT and racing games in general.

Geely, the Chinese car company owns Lotus and Volvo

For whatever reason they were not able to come to an agreement with PD prior to GT Sport , Lotus was in the beta and there's been no word since on these two brands

So i assume similar thing with Vauxhall / Opel / Holden

I would have liked to have those cars , especially Lotus but it is what it is , same thing with Silverstone and their high license fees

Licensing is one of many important steps in getting cars into games, and it's the trickiest one as it requires the values of both marque and developer to not be misaligned.

It's a reason - not an excuse - for the absence of a lot of cars and tracks from a lot of games, not just [whatever car/track it is this time] and GT.

The SEMA vehicles, and VGTs for that matter, might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but these are things that you cannot get anywhere else. Adds more value to the brands, tuners, and Gran Turismo itself.

It doesn’t help that the campaign mode doesn’t entice players to use these cars, but they do add a unique aspect

Woohoo, i for one am happy to see another Skyline/GT-R. :)

I hope they add many more to the game, especially the non GT-R models.

I'll be sure to get team right on that.
Wow a tasteless joke. Literally the only game that can add such cars, so be sure to joke more

VGT worst thing ever happened to Gran Turismo, literally no one likes it. They just help tie-in their (PD) manufacter relationship

There are plenty of games that can add such cars. GT is not special in this regard.

Which ones? Tell me AAA games in racing genre that can literally fly to Japan itself and make these cars into their game

His so called vision is scam people out of their hopes

Lotus licences Lotus though, most likely they wanted to be paid a reasonable amount, but Kazunori with it's vision sees only VGT cars looking like a toaster

It's interesting that between this GT-R, and the RS500, and I think there's another car I'm forgetting, PD seem to be liking adding Group A homologation road models. Obviously predicting future cars from this is a fool's errand but it's an interesting trend.

It was a specific response to another poster who said that adults could easily afford a PS5 should just go buy one.

I don't know what your definition of "AAA" is for games (I have to imagine its pretty restrictive), but: Forza, Need for Speed, DriveClub, The Crew, or ACC. Trips to Japan are not some exotic luxury for those that aren't from countries that are engaged in "special military operations" in other sovereign nations. I can fly to Tokyo for $1,200 from the east coast of the US next week, if I so chose.

Ahh, my bad then.

Yet, which of them can add specific GT500 current top class cars from Super GT series? Only Gran Turismo can add these cars, reasoning for this is that GT was known as one of the games that had such racing class of cars throughout it's history also PD resides in Japan itself which makes things for them even better than any other AAA racing developer. All we have now is literally old ass 2016 cars, that's absurdly pathetic.

@RobertHammer ? are you happy with current state of GT7? When even their pathetic Sport Mode has connection issues since launch? Oh yeah, don't get me started on career mode, the worst of all GT series
