I think that’s similar to how they have an AI car that’s over the PP in some of the races. When the E36 was added, one or a couple races have it as an A.I. car amongst cars that have a standard PP lower than the E36. Maybe PD have just said, “Chew on that for trying to beat the Regular AI with over powered cars, for the past 28 years.”.
Me, series veteran: "Aight bet" Proceeds to destroy the AI in a car with 1200 less Horsepower

I like these new races, think there’s loads of enjoyment in trying different car combos for them.

China bans pop out door handles because of the Xiaomi SU7.
Tesla has introduced so much stupid stuff to the car world..... glad to see we're getting rid of it all step by step.

AC controls and physical buttons are coming back in a big way for example. These door handles never should have been allowed in the first place.

Some brain dead nonsense only a computer company could come up with.

Can't believe there are still cars that only let you open the glove compartment through the menu.

The Xiaomi is mad. It understeers, oversteers and has truly rubbish brakes. It's faster than my favoured 911 track car. It can also do 231 mph on the old Le mans straight. I don't like the new 911. It's too pointy at the front for me but the TCR is magic. I did a 30 minute one make race at Dragon Trail seaside and loved every second of it.

I've read quite a few comments about the Xiaomi's brakes here. I don't think the brakes are bad. I rather feel like they are pretty good, given the weight they have to handle.
So I did a quick test. A brake test from 300km/h at SSX. The Xiaomi vs the Porsche 911 Turbo S.
Braking at the 1000m line. Both cars in stock condition, except that I gave the Porsche SS tires to be on par with the Xiaomi.
As I said, just a quick test, so I won't claim that I hit the exact same brake point for both cars, but I think the result is still interesting.
I think that many people just don't realize how f-in' fast this car is and therefore think that the brakes are not good.

I applied 3 stages of weight reduction and cut the power to about 1,000 hp and braking was not an issue in the weekly challenge race.

Another thing people don't realize is how stupidly long braking distances really are from those speeds. Quoting myself from almost eight years ago, this was regarding braking to the first chicane at Monza with a stock LaFerrari but everything in its still holds true.
In reality, 200 metres sounds like a very short distance. Braking distance is proportional to speed squared so if we assume that the car does 100 to 0 km/h in 30 metres (which is quite spot on, actually) it'll need 120 metres for 200 to 0 and (3x3 x 30) 270 metres for 300 to 0 km/h. Leaving the last 100 km/h out of the calculation, meaning that you'd turn into the corner at 100 km/h which you definitely won't do at Monza, would still mean a braking distance of 240 metres when braking from 300 km/h. Now, I haven't tried how much speed the car can gather on the front straight but I'd assume that it's more than 300 km/h - from 330 km/h, for example, the braking distance would already be nearly 300 metres and you'd still be doing 100 km/h at the apex.

Physics. Bloody physics.

Absolutely love the new Porsche, but PD dropped the ball when it comes to the livery editor. You should be able to place decals under or on top of the illuminated number plate, so that you don't end up inadvertedly blocking it lighting up your numbers.

Yeah, with regards to the SU7 braking performance, like with the Veyron and Chiron, you're approaching a corner in a heavy car that's carrying more speed than conventional cars, and also in the case of the EV, near silence. Add that to a game that doesn't convey speed well, it takes some redrawing of the braking zone.

I think it's quite fun, in an unruly yet excitable way.

The brakes on the SU7 are perfectly acceptable for a 2.3 tonne sedan with 1500 HP.
Might be one of the most powerful brakes installed on a production car thus far considering that thing accelerates with explosive force, yet the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is a two-and-a-half ton brick, to the point where you can consider it to be made out of actual bricks.

I finally had some fun driving the Xiaomi yesterday. Fully race-modded with race soft tires, full aero and a suspension setup that works for me. My earlier impressions still apply: brake early, coast through bends, then feed the power in carefully. But the car has become much more controllable and predictable now. You still have to nail corner entry speeds, but driving the car cleanly will yield a manageable driving experience and good lap times. Only when you push the car out of balance, e.g., touching an opponent or a barrier or plowing across curbs, it will quickly bite you.

I have to report this bug. It doesn't affect gameplay but it is annoying and confusing when race results are posted at end of race and you find that the timing is in error as you can see

I did come in first place but the next two cars finished by timing ahead of me?
This is in the new WTC600 Race at Nordschleife.
Please explain how this can be possible...

Yesterday i had something similiar in a Power Pack race. I won it and P3 had a smaller gap to me than P2.
Maybe the AI learned how to timetravel? ...

Probably just a "display bug", gt7 keeps a lot of data (like many games/game engines) and here it showed a part of the total calculation :D

Did you overtake those two cars on the last lap?

In fact I think it’s a bug specific to two lap races (like this one). I expect you crossed the finish before 2nd & 3rd had completed their sectors - so the game is loading their lap 1 deltas to you.

The xiaomi is awesome. Best ev car in the game. I recreated the prototype version with the help of the community for livreery and chatgpt for the settings and set up and is a joy to drive.

Pd is getting better in making ev cars.
