I wouldnt mind a little open world. Maybe a scanned city or 2 to drive around. nes from different countries that people might never see and drive how you want, where want. I would love to drift round London or drag through new york or race round tokyo. No traffic etc, just a room of 64+ people driving around and not cruising round a track.

I could go for this but not the Forza Horizon type open world.

I think it could be a grand addition. It's been said many times before but please don't make it a major part of the game.

Very true. I was thinking it could be a new GT Life type of World, just in a small city to have fun in with windy roads and other stuff outside the city for us to enjoy when not racing on track. :)

Agreed. There can be traffic offline, but none online. Got this idea from Burnout Paradise. :)

Yeah would love to tandem drift around New York

I don't get why people vote against it, its not like you HAVE to drive on it, it would basically just be like a really large skid pad, and I highly doubt it will be the games main focus.

I think a free roam would be nice. Think about a city where you can drive to a tuning shop, fuel stations, your garage, your home etc...

Really, I just want it as a photo shoot location, and proving ground, plus it would make online better, but I'd love to see traffic made up of the drive able cars within the game.

If this has been said before, sorry!

Why not just have a free roam where you can drive to the races in GT6? That way it will allow Kaz even more time to develop a proper Free Roam world for GT7.

If the world was as diverse as TDU2's islands - with perhaps even more islands/areas, as well as all cars premium with improved physics - then yes I would like to see free roam.

However I don't think a PS3 could handle it.

+1 👍 this is always how I've wanted the GT series. Drop the GT Life Menu, let us drive to everything on the menu! That would be awesome :D

They better make it an option to drive to different locations. Not everyone wants to spend time driving to shops, their garage, or wherever else. I would drive from place to place a few times, but the novelty would quickly wear off for me.

The only driving I want to do is during races.

Good call. Still need some work on how it's not just another map on the game but I like the layout.

And now for the speed-freaks such as everybody in GT! I hope you like my map idea that I made like a year or so ago...

Having experienced the Nurburgring in person - and the surrounding area, I would love to see perhaps the Nurburg area as a free roam region. Some of the roads around there are amazing, and not to mention, garages and the like are all there IRL (use as GT Tuning shop's e.t.c)

the real nurburgring simulator

btw about a month ago I tried the forza horizon trial, though with the wireless wheel without pedals thing and not a proper wired set, and it's quite disappointing.

It is great to see someone who has been at Nurburg! I've always wanted to go there at least once in my life. Well its lucky I have many more years ahead of me.

But I love your Idea! I think it would be great like that! Or maybe many places could be open world too like the Highways of Japan & the mountain runs. Could even make your own team grounds and make garages!

Wish I could go to Nurburg.

good lool! at least GT6 will be able to show off its capabilities!

Haven't read through the whole thread, but: I don't know how you'd successfully implement a "free roam" feature into GT6. I mean, the real-life courses are laid out all over the world, let alone trying to mesh the imaginary courses in to that.

I don't think a "free roam" feature is appropriate for this franchise, or more to the point, I don't see how they could introduce such a mode without it feeling hokey. Voted no.

To be honest I dont know if i'd like it or not.

GT is meant to be a Racing Sim.

Thinking on it a bit, it wouldn't be the same as a "free roam" mode, but: I did like the home screen "map" layout of GT4.

For GT6, it could be a globe, and when you select a track, an animated plane icon "flies" to your next track.

Now this is a good idea with the dealerships in their home country.

Yes! It is a great idea... but, (there's a 'but' in every good idea) it needs to be done 100%. None of the one-foot-on, one-foot-off charades that they tried with S and P cars in GT5 should be attempted with this.

Basically, do it fully or let it be forgotten. If they do this though, it NEEDS to be online applicable. I can't even go on with how mindless the AI have been in GT5. If it was to be done, here is what I think Kaz should try.

Start off with making an open world--a city with huge sub-urbs. Throw in hotspots. Stadiums (Drift), Dragstrip, a race track for wager races. Give the world a limit to the amount of player vehicles that can roam. For example make a 100 car world, that way it isn't a "flustercluck" around every corner. If it were to be done, the world would need to be massive, but not short on details. GT5 saw what happened the last time the left out detail with the Standard Cars.

If it's to be done... it has to be the best there ever was.

thats quite a lot to be asking for. 100 car online, huge city with gt5 premium quality and most people want it in a year or 2. i bet PD are like this:nervous: in their office
