I think 'Special Stage City' would be quite realistic with some added roads and highways and maybe even a coastline. It would be amazing to have a 'Day' mode as well for it! :)

Also 1000th post!!! Only took 3 years to make it to this milestone! :D :sly: :dopey:

only been here 4 months and already over 500 posts :L

They better make it an option to drive to different locations. Not everyone wants to spend time driving to shops, their garage, or wherever else. I would drive from place to place a few times, but the novelty would quickly wear off for me.

The only driving I want to do is during races.

or just make a bounce optoin

I think a free roam would be good in gt6. if they put a free roam ill be able to cruise with my friends, and in lobbies play cops

👍 YES!

👍 YES!

people on the forums dont like it when you double post

and i would enjoy free roam if they allowed you to make tracks and hillclimb circuits out of them as well

oh yeah and welcome to GTPlanet:gtpflag:

I totally wouldn't mind waiting until PS4 for GT6 if it gets free roam and all premium cars.

Or use dodgy grammar, i.e. Capitals & Full Stops ;) Great idea though! :)

Yes it would be nice but pd should worry about gt5 before focusing on 6.

Open World Freeroam? Fix the countless issues of GT5, add new cars and cut the standards first.

Instead of an open free roam mode, there should be more tracks. Tracks meaning hill climbs, touge events, point to point races (Mille miglia?), etc. That could add fun.

Maybe we could make a highway map like in Tokyo Extreme Racer Games
They put something like that in the GT games and manufacturers would yank licences so fast that we wouldn't even know what happened. That's the reason the Tokyo Xtreme Racer titles lost Honda cars as soon as Genki started getting actual licences for cars in their games.

As a fan of the Genki series, I can agree, though I really would like to see their colour creator. Seriously, the cars in Import Tuner Challenge were just awesome!

With Genki having most of the Shutoku highway system mapped out, PD should just buy it off them. Would be cool if online, people can form teams and race, or lone wolfs act as "Wanderers".

I disagree, respectfully. I enjoy Genki's games for the exact opposite reasons that make me like GT5, and vice-versa.

I like GT5 for its real racing. I like GT5 for photomode, and the quality appearance/visuals in the game. I like GT5 for online racing leagues, etc.

I liked the Genki games for the music, and the cars; that's it.

There's a big difference in the reasons why I enjoy Genki games, and the reason why I like GT5/Polyphony Digital games.

The games should be kept separate, though I don't entirely hate the idea of having Shutoku modeled into GT6. I just don't want to spend 20 hours doing the same, repetitive races (line up behind, flash lights, race, win, lather and repeat) in GT5. No thanks. GT6 should be any other GT game, with rally, city, drifting, time attack, autocross, and racing (generally.) They've never tried to make an open-world street racing game, and they likely never will, nor should they. (They'd get it horribly wrong.)

The reason I keep coming back to Gran Turismo games is the racing. I don't care for becoming the most decorated street racer; I play the Genki games because the music's good, and the cars are nicely customizable.

^ Well put. But, for this topic, I mean if something is free-roam and online, how do you stop people from drag racing, racing, etc? That's what I meant. If we have this highway element, online, and "open-world", we can do such things if people wanted to.

This has no impact on the traditional GT stuff.

In that case, that's acceptable. I thought you wanted the "let's make a game with nothing but driving around on city streets, like Genki." which isn't what you meant. Sorry for the misunderstanding. I think everyone just wants to see "more," in general.

Good idea for free roam like Forza Horizon is gonna have, but that's gonna either be a spin-off game for fun or a separate game. But still, drop the standards and livery editor in-game is a big yes for me.

Hill climbs would be awesome indeed!

I definitely wouldn't want free-roam like Forza Horizon has it. It's nothing but highways in the middle of no where.

I'd want it to have a city feeling at least. The mountain stuff can be an offset.

Both dirt roads and asphalt, please. And uphill and downhill. At night. With rain. Ok gentlemen, who still rather have an open free roam? No one? Good. :)

Agree. I played Need for Speed Hot Pursuit free roam for a few hours today and after some driving I asked myself if this is what Horizon will be; drive around roads in the middle of nowhere using physics that allow nice fast racing for fun but also enable cruising (well, HP partly does that, despite the lack of a manual transmission ), paired with a great selection of supercars that actually have proper sounds.

I think a Extention Of SS7 and SS7 free roam should have more opening and have a Open world racing like Test drive Unlimited and TDU 2. simewhat like import tuner challege. you have a set course or open track you can drive where ever. On GT5 cops and crooks seems to be popular on GT5 I in my opinion would like to see a crown vic cop car or the GT pacewith lights working and siren would be alot of fun. However the problem i see are the servers and room sizes. But im sure it can be done. Not only would there be tracks but courses to be explored and driven and a whole lot of people love Drifting and would be good for Drifters, Racers, Drag racers, and formula drivers. well i think so anyway. This is just my opinion so agree or disagree i respect your opinion.

i still think open world is a little too unnecessary if its done wrong. im not downing anbody's ideas but remember this is a racing/motosports game and it is getting more "sim" every year

i think This would also please rally Drivers to. i see how this could be a problem but sometimes people dont want limits on where they go or what they can do.

this would be great for rally drivers and all drivers cause we could make a sort of targa florio. but if this is something like open world in horizon or tdu then it wont be too good of an idea
