Even if Kaz and PD *were* inclined to create a game like this (and I suspect they're not,) logistically, I don't see how they could.

Not that I'm privvy to all of the details involved with the various international licensing rights, but I can't imagine the various real-course owners being too keen on the idea of their tracks being mashed together with other tracks in a giant pseudo-city.

Some brand owners are VERY conscientious about how their brand is marketed and displayed. (For example, why you're not able to put Dirt tires on any of the Ferraris.)

Good idea. Great plains seperating Eiger and Nordshleife, interstates connecting SSR5 and SSR7...

Oh boy, here I go drooling over possibilities again..

Well, you don't have to name city track as original, although environment, buildings and other things can be intact.

Off-city tracks don't need to be merged of course. It's enough to be connected by intercity-like routes.

NFS Most Wanted has many cars of most brands despite it's in fantasy city with strange upgrades and even nitros.
Although there are some picky brands, i think variety of cars can compensate absence of couple brands. NFS MW has many interesting cars absent in GT5 (and I'm not talking about Porsche for obvious reason).

IMHO, Racing simulator should have look like NFS MW. This virtual reality will add big experience to GT. Even running away from cops wouldn't be against GT concept. GT5 has a lot of road cars, but you can use them only on tracks which limits experience a lot!
If PDI wants to keep their gamers to play, then they have to make GT world. Having just set of separate tracks is kind outdated today. PS4 will have great RAM boost to make possible for virtual world.
Although, having just set of tracks is interesting at beginning, it getting boring after some time. It's kind of rail shooter after some time because tracks are very limited to track itself. You cannot go out from road and have some off-road jumps, crashes and other experience. It's even hard to make something new when you cannot go out from track.

I'm not talking about physics, car upgrades or behavior, so don't get me wrong here. But after playing NFS MW i've realized how real racing simulator should look like.

The name "GT World" would be good :)

I understand that most likely PDI won't make such game and it's a pity...

Same though i have had for years about Gran Tursimo.
Would be cool to cruise around in Tokyo, with a lot of other players (mayeb ut to 100 or sth) *Drool*

*Cough*Yet another wish-list*Cough*

But Seriously, there's already multiple threads for this. :)

Recently i'm playing NFS Most Wanted much more than GT5.
And what i really like is easy drive mode where you can freely drive around the city without boundaries.

But yeah, it would be awesome to be able to drive freely.

Freeroaming isn't just street racing. I would love to cruise around italy and look at the scenery.

No, it's a "Real Racing Simulator". That includes track, street, rally, you name it. If you're competing against another car, that's racing in my book.

Street shenanigans is not a form of racing. Not even close.

To add to the subject. I would prefer that they do something similar to how T10 approached it. keep one for pure motosports, and have a spin-off that people can hoon around in. I would prefer to keep the two away from each other.

Uh, guys, it's "The Real Driving Simulator". Not that it means anything.

Still loving the "open world" = "street racing" assumptions, though. Never mind the fact that people can very well "street race" in GT5 if they wanted to...

I'm not sure whether an open world freeroam would be a good idea for GT to be honest.
I would love to see one if it was done perfectly, but I would want a pretty extensive world for it not to quickly become stale, and with the number of premium cars being made, tracks etc, would Polyphony have the time to do the job as well as it can be done in, for example, Forza Horizon?

If it could be done extensively, and originally, then yes I would support it, but I do have my doubts...

Maybe a motor speedway that has a giant parking lot (think forza) that has a drag strip next to it where you can challenge people. Nothing big or special, just a simple flat level with walls, should be easy to make.

I still remember about that White city that sometimes appear in GT5's main menu. Was that one suppose to be the open world of GT5 Kaz had talked about but was unfinished? Hopefully its that city and its complete in GT6. The best part is, we'll be able to come out of our cars and explore on foot, no open world racing game hasn't done that before. None at all Period.

GT can still be about racing. It's just in my view, the open world can be GT6's new GT Life mode, just like in the old GTs from GT1 to GT4, how you see there were roads in the map with places enter, that's what I want in GT6. :)

I never really got to much into TDU, but werent you able to get out of your car on that game? Also, wasnt one of the old Driver games like that? or am I mixing up my thoughts.

Well in Driver you were able to come in and out of your car, but that one wasn't a full fledged racing. In TDU you were able to come out from your car out on the road? I've only played the first TDU but not the second sadly. :p

Oh okay, so TDU2 had that one but not out the road. Alright then. PD should have that, and make one where we can come out of our cars and explore on foot, but a wall will appear blocking your path the farther you walk from your car.

See I wanted that on tdu2 there were alot of places I wanted to stop and look around.

If theres a sequel in the works, maybe you'll be able to walk about and check out the scenery. Hopefully if PD makes GT6's GT Life mode an open world city, I hope we'll be able to walk about, especially if theres a coast area. That will rock. :D

That would rock.

Even though peopke think it will take away from the racing I think it would be a good new feature.

Haha, indeed. Just imagine how so much fun it will be, after dealing with a difficult or frustrating event and wanted a break from racing. You message your friends to come hang out with you at a public parking area using your avatars, having your cars parked near each other under green or blossom trees. :)👍

When I drive in RL I do tend to stop at places like that.

Haha, just to relax for a bit you know? :) Even relaxing from dealing with those annoying or frustrating events PD sometimes makes, like the chase the rabbit races (hopefully doesn't continue in the next title) that you just don't want to bother competing in.
