Question, Should Polyphony Digital make a Gt pro game for people who aren't beginners? ( very very smart and fast AI )

1. yes

2. no

I think they should concentrate on making a wellbalanced game, so I'm forced to improve from the start to the end. Don't like the idea, that I should buy a sequel after I beat GT4. I think GT4 would suffer under such a marketing strategy. If they can do it, why not put the option in the the GT4?

there already is a Professional mode in the arcade section of GT3...

i would rather see realism in the game rather than unrealistic difficulty levels..

I think we will all be in for a surprise on how hard GT4 really will be.

I hope to god your right, GT4 should be solid as a rock. At least after the halfway point anyway, keep the opening events easy for beginners and people who can't play the game properly, and make everything else hard, harder and nigh on impossible.

I think that the game should come with settings. For the simple AI, leave it as it is in GT3. Have an additional setting in the options for a harder level.

*click* move to correct forum.

Hit it right on the head, enough said.

I think the difficulty level could be boosted a bit in the Simulation/GT mode. The Arcade AI are pretty much a joke, even at the Professional level.

It would be really interesting to see a large group of character AI with good personality and such. Much like SSX has done with the characters. Though I wouldn't want to choose a pre-defined character for myself and I would want lots more characters in Gran Turismo ... like 50. They wouldn't have to be quite as detailed as they are in SSX, but a few values that they mix and match and set levels for would be cool. Like aggressiveness, or tendancy to spin out ... such as that. And let you know who you're racing with, with a bit of commentary before and after the races.

The AI is eay because they don't go Wide Open Trottle when they race. There should be a setting that enables them to step on the pedal so that we'd have tougher competition.

We should be able to adjust sliders to acomidate for our skill level.

Yes. And I think the best way to do it would be to not award extra cars for the ACE level and keep it out of the 100% section so that noone is frustrated for not being able to run that mode, and really only the die-hards will play it.

Well... professional mode is still to easy though, I haven’t found a single race where there’s a tight race until the end using the same cars as the AI, the AI never drives the correct racing line, and always hits a wall or two at every lap.

The only races I’ve found that are somewhat close at the end are in the Polyphony digital cup using a cheap heavy car w/ little horsepower. In those races they sometimes throw in the 350z as an opponent, and that’s the only challenge you can find if you yourself are using an inferior car... oh well.

My suggestion is to make the professional mode where the AI races with license test gold times. That should give you a hard to beat race since you’d have to race absolutely perfect to your limits to gain an advantage over opponents.

Another thing I find that sucks about the AI in ANY race mode is that they just suck. They don’t give you room when you're passing, they ram you from behind... you know the deal. But that’s a different story for a different thread.

i think that AI do ned to be tougher and better drivers...

I'd also like it to be harder to get prize money so you have to work hard to get cash

why work when you can have it for free?! ;)

I think it can be easy to make cr at times in GT3, but you only really rake it in on the longer races in the Professional league. If they kept the prize cr similar to GT3 but have this thing where parts will waer over time and you have to pay to replace them it would balance it out.

As for RRRRRUL's comment, it kind of takes the point away when you get enough Cr early on to buy a car that will pretty much win the game for you. I can remember reading a guide for GT2 a while back, it started off ok up to when you get your third or foourth car, then it said win this race over and over and keep selling the car and you'll have enough cr to walk it the rest of the way, whats the point in that.

i think that GT4 should have dificulty levels not only in arcade mode, but also in Sim mode.........

no need fo a whole dif game.

Well the AI in every other GT game is definitely broken, so they need to fix it.

Oh god yes. The AI is terrible, and the auto balancing is just the most awful thing (its also in papyrus sims, and i hate it sooo much.. but can turn it off in them :p).

The AI needs overhauling, but at least the online play should produce close, proper races (and big wrecker races..). We can only hope there is a way to filter out the moronic drivers (ala sierra/papyrus rankings).

there is a free online game where if someone is going around crashing into everyone and racing un-sportingly they can be 'evicted' by the other races and the race is restarted. The only problem is if you are most the way through an endurance and the person goes manic, you have got a problem.

I don't mean to be rude, but that's the stupidest idea, I've ever heard. Pro for the pros! Common, let's see you take out a stock Calsconic Skyline against the JGTC Pro competition. That's pro'ness.

The idea of making a seperate game is a litle daft, but to have some selectable difficulty levels before yopu start a sim game would be nice, and racing a stock JGTC car in the pro JGTC cup is harder cos the cars in that cup are tuned, to make races hard in GT3 you have to use a far inferior car to the AI, that needs sorting out for GT4.

Well today, I took out a fully modded S2000 against the Arcade Mode>Race>Easy> and I was easily able to beat race cars like the GT40 Race Car.

i took out my drift modified ae86 into arcade race hard, and i got owned. lol

i suggest HP limits to each of the race series!
