What is shuffle racing btw? Not a gran turismo 5 player.
It was essentially PD’s first go at an online matchmaking system, but it was only a game mode in the Lobby area. Basically you set a performance window and a track and the game would pick a selection of stock cars from GT5’s massive roster that would be randomly assigned to everyone in the lobby, and could reset or reassign on the next race.
The fantastic bit about it was the customizability - you could shrink or widen the performance range for a closer or wider spread of speeds, and set the selection based on the previous race’s finishing order, which quickly cycles slower cars to more skilled players, and faster cars to newbies, and you could basically tune it to the skill level of the lobby. Then you could go so far as to let it randomize the track selection, and auto start on a timer, so you’re given a random car, a few minutes of practice time, and then dive in and see if you could figure out your car better than the others. I have vivid memories of people being deathly afraid of getting assigned the Shelby Cobra, which was one of the hardest cars to control back then.
Due to its simplicity it was super quick to just open a lobby and go, and adjust its parameters based on how people were feeling. Nothing like now where we have to wait a week for the 3 sport mode combos to cycle, you can just pick from the full track list on the fly, or just let it randomize.
Ok but december has 21 days of Autumn and we don't know the day the update will come.
And are we asking the update to come the exact day the leaves will look like that? C'mon.
If we get Autumn Ring in the final week of December I’ll be pissed. In fact, if we get Winter Ring in April, Spring Ring in July, and Summer Ring next October I’m gonna riot.
