Gran Turismo Spec IV Thread: Autumn Ring, Sugo Circuit, and More

Thinking of it - back in the day shuffle racing was very similar to real life historic or "road sport" races, that I have missed in simulators. Those goodwood style Mini vs Camaro battles. Cars that have wildly different strenghts and weaknesses, but have very similar lap times. I hope they make a historic shuffle pool at some point. Would be a perfect match. 😁

All of this stuff and yet not one thing. NOTHING!!! About curbing and dealing with the real problem in the game. Dirty drivers. I have literally been run off of the game. Cannot play in any servers due to a team full of bullies who chase me down every server I go to To wreck me out literally make it to where I can't even complete a full lap and wind up the entire race of laps behind when the race is over. And these people get a kick out of it. I have left the game and have been gone for over a month. Moved on to PC gaming and miss dearly. My Gran Turismo racing but even though I've moved into PC, these people still come to my channel just to cause me troubles and I'm not even in their game. And yet Playstation polyphony digital and Gran Turismo do absolutely nothing about this kind of people in game. These idiots literally run the entire us server if they feel like you have done them wrong in any way, you're a Target and you remain one and then they blast you all over YouTube on their channel. Making fun of you making an example of you having their entire team attack. You has literally gone as far as them somehow getting a hold of my IP address hacking my Facebook pulling a picture of my wife in her bathing suit in our kitchen. Posting it on their YouTube page and asking if their members are enjoying. If you understand what I'm saying the picture, I'll let your imagination go with that one, but they asked a certain question I've been doxed and had envelopes of creepy stuff with no return address sent to me in my personal home mail. I'm talking one envelope with burnt ashes. Another envelope with a lock of hair of God knows whose hair or what it was. And yet they give us this stuff and don't address the real problem. Congratulations polyphony digital and Playstation! And Kaz, you're going to allow people like this to kill and destroy your awesome legacy. Well yes - pretty much the only thing that potentially helps saving you from this is to have fast quali time so you start from top 5.

But that said. I think GT7 badly needs iRacing type of contact penalty point system, that hits your DR - HARD. At the moment DR doesnt really do much as anyone can be DR S. I actually find racing in DR A cleaner, as only people like me who get occasional penalties by accident or bump drafting are DR A. DR S is full of people who are willing to - and know how to, exploit and go around the penalty system.

Spec 4 update oh my word!!! :eek:😂😎

Not one, but two big updates. I like how they used cover art inspired by the older games. Funny I posted this not to long ago regarding GT's 30th anniversary:

I'm interested to see what GT will do for their 30th anniversary at the end of 2027. I thought they might do an online event that will allow you to win the cars on the cover art (Porsche and Mazda VGTs) in special liveries, or maybe a big update, but the latter would be somewhat redundant with GT8 potentially being released not long after. I know this seems rather early to talk about, but I'm still wondering because I missed out on that special 25th anniversary livery for the X2019 Competition and the 15th anni DLC all the way back in GT6...

Autumn Ring in October would make more sense because Fall season... Then Sugo for end of year Christmas Holidays....

Unless we get both Autumn Ring And SuGo in October, then two more tracks in December along with the next set of 6 cars which have yet to be revealed ;)

So when you sell your cSrs, the total amount spent is accumulated, not deducted right ?

You may not have that many cars in the garage still, nor the current total worth, but the overall cumulative numbers are tracked, is what I gather from you....


I am currently at about 398,666,367 credit worth of cars in the garage for 1006 since day one, I have never sold one.
 
Wow I didn’t expect such great and exciting news!
I started enjoying GT7 last year after Spec III thinking that it probably would have been the last big but significant update. Very good to see how much great content has been released so far!

Btw, I’m wondering about which may be the other 6 cars… I believe some classic GT1/GT2 cars may appear, like the Ruf CTR Yellowbird or the Honda CRX del Sol.

Yes, just what I've spent. Nothing what I've sold.
I don't do the automated grinding so I'm probably on the low end with 4.25bn credits acquired since the game debuted.
 
I'm very excited and really looking forward to this update, especially the M5 E60. But I feel like the hype is not building up fast. If you look at the numbers, we have about 360 comments on this news almost a day after announcement. Shouldn't this be much more compared to the other spec's? Where are you guys? Come on, jump on the train :)

It is just a theory, but I think so big and regular updates point point out to GT8 not coming soon because PS6 is not coming soon, so PD is keeping the engagement with GT7 high and that is a good thing.

And for Gran Turismo PS6 is a distant dream, as they are still draging the weight of PS4 with them..🙄
 
The E60 M5 and Sugo in the same update?? Someone at PD must have been rewatching Best Motoring because now this amazing moment can be recreated.

I’m really interested in the Car Viewer mode because GT7 doesn’t really have a way to freely look around the cars. You need VR just to access the VR showroom. For those of us who don’t have VR, this addition is really great!

I really really hope they include photomode in the Car Viewer. Having a good easy way to take studio photos would be amazing. I've managed to do it in GT6 through modding, but no game has included a studio location yet...

"Car Viewer" glimpse looked like 360 degree scapes..🤔
 
1. Sugo - YES! Can't wait. Drove on it in Ride4 and it just flows so nice, elavation, long corners, technical 1st sector. Will be good for GT500, GR3, etc.

2. Autumn Ring - YESYESYES! This is very nostalgic. Probably one of the first tracks I've ever driven on GT2 when I was like 9 or 10.
Mini will be 🔥 with Kei cars, main lay-out seems perfect for track toys (KTM, BAC, Caterham, Radical)
Curious about the new 'extended' lay-out... Hope they hit home with it!

3. 12 (!) new cars - HOLY .... YES! :lol:
E60 M5 is always a win.
Mazda Gr.3 EVO - newer Gr.3 always welcome (despite it not existing in real life)
Citroen 2CV just another perfect meme car.
Honda Civic race car - probably will be put in Gr.4?
Honda Stepwagon - new Kei car, ok, good
New VGT - meh, let's see... just please not another 2000bhp electric car that feels slower than a 500bhp BMW...
6 others - ok this could be good, hopefully some more Gr.3, probably a SUV (although it seems they stopped this since the Captur in march), maybe a Pebble beach winner? Also the Big Mike Honda Prelude (SEMA winner) is confirmed to come in an update sooooo...

4. Family play - Think i'll like this with the kids, bring them in the GT world :lol:

5. Car Concierge - I have all the cars, but a nice addition to make it seem more 'real'. Go to a specialised garage and go 'I have cash to burn and I want that car, find it!' 🤣

6. New driving challenges (expercience) - GOOD! Seems to be license-like, will probably take some time to complete + cash rewards?

7. Car viewer - YES, put on some music and just admire the cars in all details. 🔥

8. Collector cap increase - What will the rewards be? We've already got the unlimited invites, engine swaps,...

9. Shuffle race - never played GT5 so no experience with it but seems a nice addition. People will use more random cars it seems.
All cars in the garage will be put to use :lol:

10. online drift - don't know if I'll want to burn my fingers on this. The drift trials in the missions were hard enough lol.

11. Sophy - I'm on PS4 so sadly not for me.
12. Power paci - see above 🤣

TLDR; YES, can't wait, bring on Spec IV 🔥:gtpflag:

Not really a theory, I think it is safe to assume that. Still feel something like a Spec V next year is not a long shot right now. I did not expect this update at all.
And as we all know, PD likes to take it slow enough to only consider a 2029 release or something. But I am pretty sure next year we will see a GT8 tease (30th anniversary)

Main concern is the lack of a button to take a picture or go into a photomode in the UI on the preview image
But it can be an early version or maybe there will be a different way to access those locations in photomode
Fingers crossed for the studio location and just 3D locations in general

It's too slow for Gr. 4, given it has 221hp. That's even 74hp less than the least powerful Gr. 4, the Alfa Romeo 4C Gr. 4.

Man iam really hyped for the spec 4 Update. I think that there will be also a second dlc imcoming. Maybe they also fix some core mecanics like a rain model for every track and Externding the grid to 24-28 Cars.
