All of this stuff and yet not one thing. NOTHING!!! About curbing and dealing with the real problem in the game. Dirty drivers. I have literally been run off of the game. Cannot play in any servers due to a team full of bullies who chase me down every server I go to To wreck me out literally make it to where I can't even complete a full lap and wind up the entire race of laps behind when the race is over. And these people get a kick out of it. I have left the game and have been gone for over a month. Moved on to PC gaming and miss dearly. My Gran Turismo racing but even though I've moved into PC, these people still come to my channel just to cause me troubles and I'm not even in their game. And yet Playstation polyphony digital and Gran Turismo do absolutely nothing about this kind of people in game. These idiots literally run the entire us server if they feel like you have done them wrong in any way, you're a Target and you remain one and then they blast you all over YouTube on their channel. Making fun of you making an example of you having their entire team attack. You has literally gone as far as them somehow getting a hold of my IP address hacking my Facebook pulling a picture of my wife in her bathing suit in our kitchen. Posting it on their YouTube page and asking if their members are enjoying. If you understand what I'm saying the picture, I'll let your imagination go with that one, but they asked a certain question I've been doxed and had envelopes of creepy stuff with no return address sent to me in my personal home mail. I'm talking one envelope with burnt ashes. Another envelope with a lock of hair of God knows whose hair or what it was. And yet they give us this stuff and don't address the real problem. Congratulations polyphony digital and Playstation! And Kaz, you're going to allow people like this to kill and destroy your awesome legacy. I have been with Gran Turismo since gt1 It's painful to have to leave it
97% of this is not a gran turismo problem

Is there a high resolution version of that image with the GT-R and Supra around anywhere? I know it's the JP cover of the original game, I'm just wondering if PD have published a high res version of it recently.

And for Gran Turismo PS6 is a distant dream, as they are still draging the weight of PS4 with them..🙄
I am sure Sony is happy to "drag" many PS4 owners who pay PS+ subscriptions though ;)

Contrarily to @Lightpilgrim 😜 I am quite excited with the update I did not see coming.

Not playing much GT7 lately but shuffle racing has me very interested, curious to see how they'll implement it. I hope it will be in sport mode and available in lobbies too, and that it won't be too limited in terms of available cars, but the idea in general is great !

Happy to see the little 2CV too 😍

2 new tracks ? Including a classic one making a comeback ! Man I already have my Christmas presents in sight !

Very curious to see all the changes those updates will bring overall.

Nice to see PD still cooking, game is far from dead. I like this trend with studios pushing good content for free on "old" titles (looking at you CD Project, HelloGames, among others), it is a refreshing change from micro-transaction hell we've witnessed on the recent years (looking at you Ubisoft and other money hungry studios). Customer happiness should be the main focus of a gaming studio (and many businesses in fact), not shareholders' next yacht/villa/hypercar.

I must say that I'm surprised with this announcement.

I don't know Sugo, but Autumn Ring is very welcome!

Hope so they will raise driver cap much more then last time, so there is place to fill afterwards...

I know they won't fix bugs like overtake button not working when racing from cocpit without HUD.

The amount of support this title gets beyond release is honestly mind baffling. Compare GT7 1.0 to GT7 after Spec IV, it is almost like a sequel.

Value for money, anyone?
Absolutely.

Polyphony Digital deserve enormous credit and respect for this - alot of people could use taking a leaf out of their book.

Gran Turismo is not just a premier racing game, but a flagship gaming franchise that sets a standard by which others could and should follow, and long may PD continue to be able to do that!

It's like, as you put it, GT7 has sort of become "GT8", without the need for another game.

Makes you think that this game is built to last, and that it is modern, yet timeless.

Gotta admit I've never even heard of SUGO circuit. Looks good. And the aerial shows a kart track. Wonder if that will turn into something.

This - I dont see why anyone waits for GT8, when they add new stuff to GT7. Dropping the PS4 drag would be the only meaningful thing, but I dont think that would be good for the player base now that we still have these eye watering prices for PS5..

It's so weird to look back when the game was new. When I finished the main cafe menus back then, I thought it was alright. Just need something a little more, but nothing to dire before that infamous update came that sent the game into a 'lockdown'.

But looking back now? The launch version seriously looks unfinished compared to now.

I think people sometimes forget that "not excited" isn't the same as "this is bad" or a criticism. Excitement, or the lack of it, is just a personal reaction to what you see — and GT7 has such a wide range of players that everyone lights up at something different. I was excited as a kid when the hypercar update dropped, even though I know plenty of people don't care much for hypercars. Same with Yas Marina and Circuit de Villeneuve — I'm into F1, so those got me hyped, even though I know a lot of people aren't fans of Villeneuve. And I know plenty of you are big into road cars, which honestly isn't really my thing in this game.

But regardless of what specifically clicks for each of us, I can absolutely appreciate that this game, this deep into its life cycle, keeps getting better and better. There's so much being tested and pushed out, and I really give credit to Polyphony Digital for not just phoning in minor patches but delivering genuinely significant updates that keep the whole ecosystem alive.

So yeah, I get where you're coming from completely — for me it's just not the specific cars in this batch. But there are still six more reveals to go, and who knows, maybe a Group 3 car or two shows up among them.

Lots of the tracks have kart tracks, Spa, Interlagos, Le Mans, Brands Hatch, Nurburgring (Indoor), Suzuka, Yas Marina, Willow Springs.

Plus some temporary ones at the Red Bull Ring and Daytona.

They definitely could add more kart tracks, but… probably not worth the development effort.

So i’m guessing no updates this month or November? I hope we don’t have to wait long to find out what the other six cars will be
Maybe a patch this month.
The ghost in online time trials is all over the place. I normally set it 0,1s ahead and reset every sector.
Sometimes it's ok, sometimes it resets in the sector but 1-3s behind... Very frustrating for me as I use them to improve my personal lap times...
Some people are asking for a 'fix' in the physics but that won't happen imo. It's more realistic, maybe some cars are more difficult to drive but that's the nature of those cars..

So I believe we'll most likely gonna get to know all the 12 cars during the GTWS @singapore, before the release of the 2nd part of the SPEC IV update on December.
(Unlike the SPEC III release when we had to wait 2/3 months to know what cars were the other 4 outta of 8)

Why? Because Yamauchi-san said so. 🗿

More seriously because we're getting the new SPEC IV intro this October.

Capture d'écran 2026-09-04 103815.webp

That goes without saying, the new intro will show the new cars, all 12 of them, with the new tracks added.

In short, the GTWS event is held on October the 3rd, the first part of SPEC IV update will prolly drop the next thursday on October 8th..

PS : Also! I got another theory but this one is a spicy one and only pure fantasy from my part... Take it as pure fiction.

What if Yamauchi-san decided to split the cars shown during the SoP in two, 3 of them for October and the other 3 for December)

The next Super GT race (Not @F4H Super GT Steve 😅 ) will be held in 2 weeks from now, you guessed it... At SUGO!
I can imagine Polyphony deciding to give a special trailer for the 3 remaining cars in their natural habitat, during the event with the 3 newest Super GT cars; Toyota Supra GT500 '20, Nissan GT500 '22 and the Honda Prelude GT500 '25 (or Civic GT500?).

Kaz saw, at Milan, how hyped the crowd was for the WEC update trailer during the event, maybe he liked it and wants to renew something like this again with a "Super GT" trailer for the show! 😜

Can't wait to give the shuffle races a try. Never played GT5 but have seen them on YouTube and they look great fun (especially as most lobbies are 90% the same car on sport mode.)

Also, I was very interested in the wording regarding Autumn Ring:

'You can race Autumn Ring with it's original layout and scenery faithfully recreated. We've also expanded the track into a larger scale racing circuit. So you can race it the way you always have, or experience it as a much larger circuit that offers a variety of new ways to drive. These are the two course layouts available.'

Seems like it'll be Autumn Ring Mini + Autumn Ring OR There'll be two locations like Sardegna Road circuit and Sardegna Windmills (rally). That's my take on it anyway. Really curious to see what he means by 'new ways to drive.'
He clearly means a rally cross version as Barcelona is so popular ;)
Why lead with the first Gran Turismo cover?

That's jumping the gun a bit before the 40th anniversary.
A bit?! More like ten years ;)

A Spec IV update was most unexpected!

Autumn Ring!! LFG!
Sugo! Like many, it's a track that I've seen in a lot of vids growing up, but not a track that I know much about in terms of layout. Really looking forward to learning it!
E50 M5! Yas!
Stepwgn! Whoop!

 Kaz San!

With these updates, GT7 will reach 43 locations and approximately 125 track layouts (depending on whether Autumn Ring retains the standard and mini versions and also receives a new version). It already held this distinction since Spec III, but now it reaffirms itself as the game in the series with the largest number of circuits and layouts.
However, in my personal opinion, the absence of street circuits makes the selection less varied than that of GT6 or even GT4-5.

Indeed. I don't really understand the desire for GT8 at the moment. GT7 still looks great, still plays great, has an active player base, and active support from PD. I'd rather they continue building on what they have than start again.

Just so we can enjoy and discover a true and new career mode. That's not a minor deal, and without detracting in any way from the quality of their recent work, the structure of GT7 as it stands will never allow for that.

I gladly accept whatever they are willing to offer us, but I remain waiting for a fresh start.
