Most of it to be honest.

I'd like a more balanced economy (which is unlikely to happen even in GT8, but I can hope)
The single race format replaced with more championships of varying lengths
Re-winnable prize cars for winning race series and championships
Ditch the GT cafe
Re-work the invitations to buy cars into a manufacturer relationship system where buying and/or racing cars of that brand increase the relationship to the point they'll sell you their special invitation only cars
All races to be standing or rolling grid starts, only use stretched out chase the rabbit races for special challenges/scenarios
Custom championships
The UCD and LCD to be tied to in game days, not real time days, so the lineups rotate as you play, not as you wait

There's more. We're probably opposites in how we play, I don't touch online.

FTAOD I don't hate GT7, it's just not as good as I'd hoped it would be, for me. I can't criticise the support the game has received since launch.
95% of the hard work are in 3 areas: physics, car & track models, graphics engine.

We have a fantastic base, and it only needs to be iterated upon. These things do not need to be redone. So, 95% of the game is actually really good and fine as is

The 5% window dressing, packaging, gamification is what you're asking for. They're great ideas, and I don't disagree. But 5% game logic shouldn't be a full MSRP title on brand new hardware plus now digital native plus whatever en****tification ideas they'll add. We'd be repurchasing 95% of the content and removing access from a lot of the player base.

We should continue to want these things as updates to GranTurismo the title, and lose these ideas of new versions which obsolete the player base.

There is big chance GT8 won’t have psvr support since well it wasn’t big success. But in GT7 it is great, and having regular updates for it is incredible

I expect something like a 3.1 Sophy for the Power Pack which could have a better comprehension of tyre and fuel management. Nothing new for Custom and Quick races as that would mean it would need to be teached to drive every car again from scratch. And they have just taught Sophy (sometimes approximately) how to use the new cars, so...

The last Spec update came with 3.0 - also they don’t need to teach each version to the cars again (as my understanding). It’s just a new branch of modelling added in. 3.0 introduced tyre wear (and fuel?). I know they have weather in the Power Pack, but I don’t actually think Sophy is assessing that (other than traction) as they make very poor tyre strategy decisions

He, I, and others I won't be able to count, form another "We" that evidently does not share the same vision of things as yours.

By the way, dropping the numbered GTs is something to take carefully, that didn't end out very well for its rival...

Very unexpected for me, and i am not complaining. Looks to be some major stuff coming. The cars I could suspect be for the first part and other 6 for December update.

Looking forward to see m5 e60. The only proplem i see for part 2 is that releasing after gta 6 so might not get time to check it out when it arrives.

Space is going to be my issue… knew I should’ve bought a new driver a few years ago. Or a PS5 Pro

Curious to know what the final 6 cars would be for Spec IV, but I'm very interested in the RX evo and Xiaomi VGT

Looking forward to the Spec IV update, but am I the only one who wants to see more tracks added to the “Paddock” section?

I enjoy playing cat and mouse or just watching other players race from the side of the racetrack in VR mode.

That said I can only wish they add more features for VR players in Spec IV, such as viewing replays from the stands or letting us manually choose the camera views that they already provide.

Indeed, I think there is reason for a new GT8 title release. Not to go into this whole debacle again, but they i.e. PD or Sony-- however their financial system works, need to generate revenue from somewhere. Years of updates (except for the Power Pack) and thus the work to do it has been free for us and cost them money. Are micro transactions paying for all of that? Is Sony just giving them a sunk cost annual budget?

But really, as others have pointed out, there are core, and thus probably complicated to implement, reasons to set a hard date or version on something. Sophy AI throughout single player is the big obvious one. If they continue this whole certain-content-only-on-PS5 messaging while also supporting PS4.. it just gets messy for marketing and support.

Sure, I'd love for them to just rework the entirety of GT7 single player for free. But it doesn't seem realistically possible IMO. I don't hate GT7s single player, but it would be nice if it were refreshed and changed a bit. Also, a proverbial GT8 doesn't mean ditching all this existing content. It would surely just roll into the next title (assuming they can license it.) This isn't (or I don't believe it to be) a situation like the old days where a new console means rebuilding everything from the ground up and starting the car count over etc.

I also don't touch online anymore. Though I might try these shuffle races out of curiosity. Never did them in GT5 I don't think. I only remember the randomly generated events you could do in GT2 or GT4.. I can't remember which but you unlocked them at some point I thought.

As for not wanting to pay for a new title.. That I don't know about. That seems silly to me. New games come out for sale. Existing games get sequels for sale. Not everything is a live service title.. Those often suck. I've played over a thousand hours of GT7 so I got my monies worth a long time ago. They could announce a new $70 GT8 tomorrow and I'd be happy to buy it. I was also happy to buy the Power Pack. But I do recall a lot of people complaining about having to pay for anything 🤷‍♂️

More on topic: I'm surprised to see so many people say they've never heard of Sugo before but I guess not everyone watched Best Motoring.

I am also suspicious about the whole Autumn Ring layout situation. According to Kaz and the subtitles in the State of Play, there are two layouts: The "original", whether that is mini or the old full circuit, we don't know. And then a "new", bigger layout. I remember Mini being great for slower to medium speed cars so I hope it's in there. I don't remember much about the old Full circuit except maybe it was kinda meh? It had that big, long loop turn?

The "dressing" as you put it makes up for a huge portion of the game experience. If you think there's any chance that PD will strip the existing single player career, replace it with a wholly new and different career and reset everyone back to starting over you are pretty wide of the mark.

Even if they don't reset progress, which they should because otherwise why bother providing a new single player experience if everyone at this point is already endgame level, you'll have plenty of people upset that they've fundamentally changed a game that they own and enjoy as it is.

While I appreciate most of it is possible on a technical level, it's impossibly improbable. I understand the sentiment of wanting updates, but this is not an update that will ever happen to GT7. As I'm not all that keen on GT7 as a single player experience, I therefore want GT8. This isn't rocket science, it's not hard to understand the myriad of reasons this will not happen.

Personally, I think GAAS has been a plague on gaming. I miss the days you bought a game and it was complete, wasn't always online, didn't make use of FOMO mechanics based on real world timing, and you played it and completed it.

As for GT8 just being GT7 being repacked into a new game and being 95% the same, it won't be. We know PD aren't releasing car and track assets as fast as they are producing them. They will be holding content back for something, likely the next title in the series, which they will be working on.

As for GT8, I only hope it will be what I want it to be, it still might not be that.

That's enough of GT8 talk though, there's plenty still to come for GT7 clearly and that's not a bad thing either.

I think GT7 is a magnificent sandbox, and a pretty average game. Annoys me a little because once upon a time we had a great game and an average sandbox… PD should really go study their old games and what made them so engaging to play through.

When you say it is not big success... Where do you get that data from ?

You mean to say VR in general or GT7 VR mode ? Or both.
Because GT7 has consistently been in the top 3 spots in the VR2 PS store for best selling.... Trading place between NMS, MS-FS, and Hitman...

Maybe the order is also based on general sales, but then I don't see how MS-FS could be a best seller in general...

I sure hope you are wrong.

If GT8 doesn't have VR support,
I think I am pretty much done with buying the PS6

Aint got time to play in 2D anymore.
Thats just me.

Nice to see Autumn Ring return.. maybe time to set up my wheel again :D

Midfield, Swiss Alps and Citta next after this please Kaz and you will have balanced the sim racing timelines nicely :bowdown:

Unfortunately, you might be right. I also wouldn’t be surprised if PD decided not to bother with VR in GT8. Sony hasn’t mentioned any new VR games in quite a few State of Plays now.

I really really hope that Sophy's next iteration allows Her rapidfire emoji's to be disabled. It's sooo distracting for unconfident autists like me.

Whilst GT7 is a great game, I can't help but wonder what an open-ended career mode would be like. Only a new game could provide such a thing, which does annoy me a little as it seems we're quite a long way off that.

The amount of support this title gets beyond release is honestly mind baffling. Compare GT7 1.0 to GT7 after Spec IV, it is almost like a sequel.

Value for money, anyone?
A few months or a year or two or so before Spec III I told Kaz directly on twitter/X that GT7 had the best potential of all GT games but the worst finish. If PD interpreted that statement as face value & actually started changing & implementing many of the suggestions from GT7 players made here & elsewhere on the Internet, this last GT development might be the result of those many inputs&opinions from the GT1->GT7 fan base. Better late than never. The last few years GT7 have improved much more than all of the previous years for sure!

This can be disabled right now by turning off the drivers names above their heads in one of the settings menus (probably the in-race one but I can’t remember). So much less annoying.

Unfortunately it still appears in the drivers list until I turn off the top part of the HUD.

I wonder if the GT4 and GTPSP vibes, like the features below, will bring back practice and qualifying that is in the Power Pack.

With the RX-V GT3 EVO livery, I’ll say again the Gr.4 Mazda 3 is getting a livery update.
Honestly, when I saw Ikuo Maeda, I said to myself, “Self, I knew it. :)”, but I was thinking he was going to announce the updated MSR 3 livery or the Mazda Spirit Racing Mazda3 turbo road car.

Clearly that's a matter for the police – not for Polyphony Digital.
oh i have taken it to them but i get this ok what is their names? where are they from? answer the ps name id and from? i dont know answer back from them well what can we do? we dont know who they are or where they live and no court is gonna give us a warrant for pushing playstation to gives us the info so yeah Police is no help

Well yes - pretty much the only thing that potentially helps saving you from this is to have fast quali time so you start from top 5.

But that said. I think GT7 badly needs iRacing type of contact penalty point system, that hits your DR - HARD. At the moment DR doesnt really do much as anyone can be DR S. I actually find racing in DR A cleaner, as only people like me who get occasional penalties by accident or bump drafting are DR A. DR S is full of people who are willing to - and know how to, exploit and go around the penalty system.
yeah this trash is sadly A+ and A drivers but they get that way by bullying everyone on the track in the USA servers like i said they are a team and rule the game with a iron fist you do anything they feel is wrong in anyway and you got 8 or more attacking you and they do it live on their streams its funny to them and then they play the victim after ill admit im no saint and ive said and done some stuff but this garbage has carried on for 3 full years and even tho im no longer in game they still come to hide out in my streams and pic on me i am Neurodivergent i suffer from Tourettes Syndrome and O.D.D Oppositional Defiance disorder and Autsim and this has made me a target as such and now my wife this game needs to have a way to full report this trash with sending video clips to them and having the punishment be full bans only way they and others like them will learn

The big issue I see is them still currently supporting the PS4 version of the game, but even then I don't think it's as big of a deal as it may seem; PD can just continue creating PS5-exclusive features like they have with PSVR and Sophy.

Now, how much of that can they control if they're beholden to Sony? Sony is slowly dropping support for the PS4--is it a smart move to begin treating the PS4-version as an afterthought and pour all resources towards the PS5?

Because, from what I can tell, the PS4 version basically just lacks the graphical fidelity and processing power needed for those amazing graphics and whatever Sophy/PSVR2 needs, but is that it (or at least, the obvious parts)?
PS4 is not dead 👍 😁💪

Yeah, the M5 !! , and maybe the possibility to making this 😁 🤞

And if the police can't help, what makes you think that an update of Gran Turismo 7 would solve the problem? I mean, you say you're not even playing it anymore and you're still getting harassed.

I have no idea if this is even remotely true, but I am choosing to believe that Shuffle Races being here is because people overwhelmingly mentioned it in that survey, and PD ended up like "okay, fine, we don't know why you guys all like this so much but I guess we'll bring it back".

I’ve wondered about this as well. Wish they’d say now (I know PD won’t), because if GT8 won’t support VR I’ll be done with the series. I’d sell all my Fanatec gear right now and switch to Simucube if I knew I was soon going to be done with racing on PS.
