I tried the concierge feature to see what happened if I ordered a Giallo Ferrari F355, and it turns out I have to wait 4 days and pay about 30% over the normal used car price tag. Pfff, for me it's just overmanaging more phony digital "scarcity" and I won't be using the feature. Also, is it just me or do we need another world map layout? It feels really cramped and stale these days.

I love that we can do this

Please PD add engine swaps to the other people carriers that have wild wings!

Wonderful to see a proper new track that's not a chicane fest, really love the addition, Bravo.

I do feel it is not a track suitable for bigger cars, ideally you'd run the Caterham or Radical or the older little japanese touring cars, maybe Group 4 at most IMHO.

The main strait has been modified with a longer configuration (a new one) and a "shorter" one which look like to lead towards the original hairpin, elevated now it seems.

It's hard to tell if that elevated section is the extended route re-joining the older layout or if the older layout has been modified. If you look on the inside of the elevated hairpin, it looks like there's a grandstand that more closer matches where the original hairpin would run. It'll be interesting to see, I hope they haven't messed with the original layout much like they did with Deep Forest, Grand Valley and Trial Mountain.

That's what it looks like to me. I was watching some old GT6 videos trying to figure out where the extension would combine with it, thinking either after the initial hairpin or onto the Mini home straight.

Concierge is neat, already hit the level cap. Like c'mon PD you already know how many of your players will cap when you release the update, make the cap somewhere in the hundreds already.

Haven't driven any of the new cars and probably won't unless it's the Ferrari. Still hate SUGO only now I can hate it in higher definition and with prettier colors. I am dreading the first time this track shows for a Daily. It will be carnage.

I'm sure there's lots of people happy. I'm not unhappy I'm just waiting until Pt 2 drops. That's where my happiness is.

That’s actually hard to tell their is nothing that proves they are holding back cars or not. But they need to start think about next gt. And if they want some new cars for the next title, some content has to be hold back if it’s going to release let’s say 2 years they can’t bring all the cars they have if they want to have a good increase of new cars for their next title, I remember reading kaz saying they make around 60 cars a year which is more than we been getting. But maybe that has changed.

I would not blame them if they decide to hold back cars. We have got a lot of cars and even tracks for free. And getting 2 major updates for an 4,5 years old game can’t be taken for granted. I think the support has been pretty good for the most part.
The issue of holding back cars or not is irrelevant compared to the issue of holding back single player career/campaign mode options & fun with custom choices or event style rules like the Power Pack. Which should be expanded even that we can do most of it in custom events. Which still isn't good enough but much better that before Spec III.

GT7 still have a substantial improvement potential. We can choose to focus on that or be glad that things have improved. Or else I would not play GT7 much compared to playing GTS&GT4&GT5&GT6&GT3 again.

I own an electric Volvo but while I might have adjacent brand loyalty the Polestar experience was really lacking.

Did you get anything special by golding them all?

Remember back in GT Sport when completing a Circuit Experience would give you a decal of the track you did the trials in?

Why can't they do the same for Experience with some extra brand-specific decals, or even a unique livery from the brand itself? It would have been a good use to implement that Polestar collab livery into the game!

With the concierge, maybe I can finally buy an NA Miata. A car completely unavoidable in past GT games, yet somehow I have never powered on GT7 during one of its turns in the used car rotation.

Gran Turismo 7 Update 1.72: Experience

This feature is also part of the Brand Central changes, bringing events to manufacturers within their home dealership — similar to the one-make races in Gran Turismo 2, but as missions rather than races.

With Spec IV Part 1 these are limited to four manufacturers: Hyundai, Polestar, Xiaomi, and Yangwang. It doesn’t take a great deal of knowledge to spot that these are three battery EV-exclusive brands (until and unless we get the Polestar 1) and one with a heavy EV focus among recent additions.

Each line-up comprises four short sectional time attacks at various courses, offering 4,000cr apiece for hitting the gold times, and completing each at bronze or better unlocks the fifth and final “exam” test with the same reward.

There’s no particular additional rewards for doing any of this — a small price reduction at that brand, or even a roulette ticket would be nice — so this one’s for the completionists.

Okay, I was excited to look at Vintage and Car Concierge. So, I looked at those before even viewing the intro. Although I did notice the intro didn't spoil any new content except for maybe Autumn Ring. Makes sense I guess, though it's gonna be weird if they update it again, meaning GT7 will have had 5 different intros.

Anyway, back on the modes.

So, I'm happy I can just view all of the colors for once on used and legends cars without needing GT Auto. It'll give me an idea on what colors to look out for with some cars including in the future.

Even better is that I can order that specific color in the Car Concierge. So, I would say 4 slots is fine as I imagine the average player won't probably be ordering cars like crazy. I for one filled it, because there were certain colors I wanted for 3 Porsche 911s. I also ordered a Corvette C1, happy to finally be able to buy this car in another color than red. I swear that is the only color that shows up in the legends dealership for some reason.

This feature definitely beats the fomo like gameplay with legends dealership. I still have to wait a set amount of days for each car, but at least I know when they're coming. Now is this and legends better than the old days imo where it was just in game days of car list refreshing? Well no, it never really was. Except for the picking whatever color you want thing, but at least I can pick cars I want to wait for.

The new car viewer is nice for having a close look at my cars. A little disappointed that I can't look at the interior though.

That you can see the color options (including the names) on the car collection page was a nice addition. With checkmarks for the ones you’ve collected.

No need for the save a style and check in showcase-workaround anymore.

the ballast change is bad news for the Beat AFK Daytona grind :grumpy:.
Really? I've been using it this morning remotely from my workplace, to grind some more credits, right after updating the game to 1.72, and everything was working fine. Will check my car settings later, though, when I access the game at home.

Update: I've checked my settings and indeed the Low ballast settings have been modified.... But that has no effect in the grinding, as the Low tuning PP is not vastly modified (still under 300PP) and the High/Max tuning (the one used for the actual racing) has no ballast.

I did some putzing this morning before work - no racing so can't comment on Sugo, or how the Ferrari drives, etc. Mainly just checking out the new features and cars.

- I love the features showing off the different car colors (the Vintage dealership view and the Car Collection redesign). Simple feature and maybe not appreciated by those who don't collect multiple colors or aimlessly admire cars. It's a much cleaner and easier way to figure out which color BMW CSLs I need to complete my collection (or which color truly looks "best" on the Nismo 400R)!

- The Vintage dealership will be nice for checking PP values whenever the next massive physics change happens.

- The Concierge feature is well known by now, so no surprises there. It seems reasonably well designed and is a good feature for those hunting for low mileage examples or specific colors. Or the custom race crowd that wants to build a specific grid but doesn't want to wait 90 days for the missing car to come around again.

- Still no rewards for accelerating to collector level 90? At least I have my daily marathon 4* 10,000cr tickets to look forward to?

- The F355 has some nice aero options though sadly missing the open headlight option like on the JGTC car, or the 348-style doors. I'll still build one for my GT300 collection anyway.

- The V12 and Maverick swaps for the Step WGN are hysterical. I don't build many of the ridiculous engine swaps, but I have a spare V12 engine currently collecting dust!

- When will we get more racing engine swaps? The Diablo and 911 GT1 (among others) need them!

First thoughts after 20–30 mins:
  • The new cars sound fantastic:
    • The 2CV sounds raw (I wish they would go back and update the VW Beetle sound).
    • The idle sound of the Civic, plus the pops when shifting up.
    • The F355 has a great, unique sound.
  • Sugo seems like an interesting track, even for slower cars. I like it so far.
  • Concierge, Vintage and Car Viewer are useful features. Hope they will add more backgrounds in future. First thing i did was to order a silver 959.

A teeeeny tiny bit disappointed the new Car Viewer feature doesn't have a full photomode but it's still an awesome feature and surely a step in the right direction towards bringing back 3D photomode locations
And you still can take some nice shots

Well my collector level jumped to 89 but getting to the top is apparently going to require another 20k points.

Guess I'm not as crazed a collector as I thought.

That car viewer gives some amazing images. They could pass for the real thing.

The concierge is a big addition. I think it's MUCH better than the dealerships alone. Especially if you're trying to make a custom race and need some of the older cars. Now, instead of needed to seize the opportunity, you can just order up what you need. So much better.

I'm a little disappointed that the PS5 didn't get specific updates this time around. We'll have to wait for the next one.

Ha, I wonder if GT8 will just be a spec upgrade :D

I run the Honda Beat and, at least for me, the low PP tune cannot go under 300 PP with the new ballast, so the payout drops quite a bit.

These are my 'Low' settings (ballast increased due to 1.72 but still under 300PP).
