It's an active system. You have to click on it to collect and pay. Fail to do either and it sits in its slot, taking up space, until you do.
Thanks @Famine , that's actually really helpful of PD. We've come a long way since the timed invites to buy cars.

The first mistake I made was wearing the VR headset when starting the game. The second mistake was checking all the new features while wearing the headset. Car Viewer was lackluster. I then went into VR Showroom and there’s just no comparison when looking at cars. However, it’s nice we have choices to look at our garage cars.

Very weird the F355 is on CS when 964 RS is on SH.

Vintage and Car Concierge just need one more option: Test Drive. Make it a short one lap of Tsukuba or Autumn Ring Mini for players to get a feel before purchase.

Well, I was going to like Sugo and the Civic anyway. The Civic steering and handling are very go cart like. Made some sloppy liveries real quick to try my ‘87 JTCC grid. Reggie worked fine, but SOPHY is needed stat. Heavy rain conditions left many awesome standing water spots. Replay cameras and car reflections on the water are cool.

Had to. :D

Test drive would be great!

Okay wait, how is the stepwgn already have 3 engine swaps, and from 300pp to 700pp? That is so godamn fast

I keep reading that people wait for cars with some specific colors to buy. But, you can just buy several copies and paint them with real paint colors ?

Am i doing something wrong when i painted my F355 into rosso monza right away because i like it more on that color? Is it not "Real" rosso monza now?
As he said:
No, there's nothing wrong with doing it that way! The catch is when the car has a design on it - as soon as you paint it, you lose the design. Nismo 400R is one example.
That said, I really wanted a blue Nismo 400R, so I bought a yellow one and downloaded a blue livery from the Showcase.

The game also won't count that you "own" a F355 in Rosso Monza. I've long completed my car collection so chasing after fun and unusual colors gives me something else to do in the game.
And expanding on this:
I may be wrong but I believe I remember learning at some point that there was something "special" about the actual factory paint jobs too...something that gets lost when you just apply paint in the shop.
It's not that the actual factory paint is special it's just that there are some instances where the car has a factory part in another color or material (Chevy Chevelle with the vinyl top for example) which gets deleted and become painted when you use another paint color (like the design example mentioned by @Niko-H above). Also, there are still certain car paints not available to purchase (the Camaro '69 Hugger Orange and NISMO's MNPIII for example). And those parts and colors are hard to recreate by decals, especially when trying to replicate metallic shades.

In the end its all subjective though, if you're ok repainting them and don't mind those things, that's ok!! :gtpflag:

I thought we would be able to view the cars interior. Kinda disappointed we can't.
I agree, and I honestly don’t understand what they’re thinking. VR Showroom already lets us explore the car’s interior, so since they’ve already developed Car Viewer, why can’t they implement the same feature? It just doesn’t make sense to me.🤷‍♂️

If you’re doing the WTC800 for the first time at Sugo don’t enter the pits flat out!

I have to say they are bloody tough tires! 🤣🤣

For a short track I like Sugo. In VR you really appreciate the elevation change, but also in VR and on PS5Pro it really suffers from tree pop up - particularly as you climb the hill. It’s bad.

Sugo is a really nice track, it was decent on the Project CARS games too but Gran Turismo is on a different level, especially since they've taken the effort to do it properly and add the dynamic weather.

It actually feels like old school Gran Turismo, like the original circuits from the PS1 games in that it's a bit wild, I hope they've gone that way with the extended Autumn Ring but from the tiny bit we can see (half a straight and one corner) I suspect they've treated it like the other more recent originals and Tilke'fied it.

Yeah the pop up shouldn't be happening this late in the game.
True about the elevation change in VR. Previously playing it in Project Cars 2 didn't prepare me for the amount of camber in corners and the topography of the circuit.

To be fair, it was helpful in notifying when a ucd/lcd car was in stock, at least for me.
For sure. However, if someone missed a car they wanted to add to the wishlist, they'd have to wait or ask members when a car would possibly return and then be referred to a link.

Good point, didn't think about that.

It's incredible. I forgot how narrow that track is. Super technical, great elevation change and some great tradeoffs for better corner entries.

I'm enjoying Sugo a lot. It's my first experience with it, and I was also surprised by the tightness and elevation changes that don't come across from watching YouTube videos.

Really happy to have this track for lapping road cars as there are a lot of sustained 3rd gear corners which puts it right into the best part of a road car's powerband. And it being short and tight it's enjoyable in normally powered cars.

Man, it looks like PD are really having fun with the 2CV and Stepbro. Used to be this series was so straight laced and took itself so seriously. Nice to see all this GLORIOUSLY stupid stuff in a semi–realistic game!

For me, the highlights of this update were the new Mazda Scapes and Car Concierge. I've been to two of the locations IRL, and I can't put into words how surreal it feels to see a place you know in the game, and vice versa.

The CC resolves a LOT of FOMO for me. I'm a little bit OCD when it comes to UCD and LCD cars, feeling pressured to collect them in every colour they come in; some for the interior body colours, some for irreversible mods, or just plain wanting to know what car comes in what paint colours. Now that the CC allows us to not only see all the colours, they also allow us to buy the cars whenever, so I can finally free up garage space! I feel so much better now that I know I've only 32 of the 48 colours that the Dino comes in!

I am SUPER happy that the Car Viewer feature dinally made it into the game, because it's one of the features I wrote that I wish were in a future GT7 update. That said, the Car Viewer as we now have it feels completely underbaked and an afterthought. I was really disappointed that we couldn't move the car around the scene, and that the range of the camera's movement is tied to a fixed radius around the car. We can't even do a full top–down view! As others have already mentioned, the lack of interior viewing is a serious letdown. Hell, there isn't even an option to toggle active aero parts like in Scapes! What gives? I remember back in GT5, where the new car dealerships showed off cars in a studio–like environment, with large screens covering the walls that could switch between different scenes like a clear day, autumn leaves, or a nighttime city. I was really hoping the Car Viewer would have options like those. Ahh well. The inability to swap in cars from the garage also stinks; to take a photo of a car, I have to back out of the CV entirely and get into a car I want to shoot, then go back into the CV. Scapes allow us to hot swap in cars from our garage into the Scene directly; why can't the CV? It just feels like zero thought and consideration had been put into this feature. I don't think my expectations were too high, nor the effort to implement them too much trouble; they were all features in past GT games (you could glitch a Photo Mode camera into the car's interior in the PS3 games). It also runs like a slideshow high on drugs on a base PS5, presumably because it forces RTX on. I wonder if it's any smoother on a PS4?

The Brand Experience isn't that much better, either. At present, it consists of four brands each featuring one car that I really don't expect to be mildly popular in the playerbase. Some have speculated that the BE could be something akin to GT2's manufacturer one–make races, which I'd have been excessively happy about. I thought it might be a feature to take a car from a brand to test drive before buying, or even rent it for a few days. But all the BE ended up being is just 5 short licence tests with pittance for rewards. I know all this is free and optional stuff, but it really hurts to see all the potential (and admittedly self imposed hopes) going down the drain like that.

I'm yet to drive Sugo, but it's just one of those tracks that feel like it should've been in the series for 20 years by now. The option for wet weather is much–appreciated relief after the drought (:sly:) of dry weather only tracks added to the game since launch!

Looking forward to this greatly as I'm a a big fan of Sugo and those cars interest me greatly. The 355 is a welcome surprise. Its awesome to see the game being supported with updates like this so long after release.
It's because PDI/Sony could not make all the cars & tracks within a few years, say 2-3 years. And also because while GT8 on PS5 would be a good idea, it can be even better on PS6. Despite the diminishing returns on graphics & loading time.

The car viewer is a most welcome addition; the advantage over the VR showroom is obviously the photo capture thing, VR capture via the share option is so heavily distorted but that’s expected, VR side effects…

With the concierge, maybe I can finally buy an NA Miata. A car completely unavoidable in past GT games, yet somehow I have never powered on GT7 during one of its turns in the used car rotation.
A few hours I discovered the same issue but with one missing Toyota AE86, while one or two was easy to remember because of past GT games, I somehow strangely forgot to collect all 3 in GT7. At least on one or a few of my user accounts this happened but perhaps not on all 5 accounts.

Yeah, the viewer is a nice addition.

Also noticed. If you install the widest wheel option on the Step van, before the wide body, the wheels are wider than they would be, if you do the wheels after. I seen it, after doing the wide body, then checking to see if the wheels would get wider, but they actually went skinnier. I just backed out, and kept the wider wheels.

I wonder if we’ll ever get some of those great city circuits from previous GT’s. I’m late to the GT7 party but I was only disappointed with the lack of those classic GT tracks. Will be nice to have Autumn Ring back soon! One of my favorite quick laps (Autumn Ring Mini) to throw around a little car
Most GT7 players very much want Silverstone & Monaco, & few other very difficult to get tracks in GT7 or other games because political laws & rules.
