Maybe Jack Thompson would be better writing to the mothers who let their underage kids play the game, rather than telling the rest of the adult world that we can't. Now, where's my sniper rifle...
 
I just watching the trailer, and the music seemed very familiar. Until the guy started singing, then I realized it was a Russian song I used to have.


It's kind of a cool feeling when you realized you've known about something way before it got big and the rest of the world knew about it.

Reading that just got me more exited about getting my copy monday night/tuesday morning:cheers:
 
I got a call today from EBGames, I can pay for the game the day before (Monday) so when I arrive at 12.01am Tuesday I can just walk up and grab it, show that I've paid and walk straight back out.

So hopefully that means I'll get it first on GTP :sly:, unless some pesky NZ member beats me to it, or Dion loses his job but becomes a god.

Something I have been fearing, also a answer as to why the NZ version is the same as the AU version (assuming this news is reliable).

I can also confirm that the reason we are releasing the same edited version in New Zealand is because the online component will be region locked to ensure a lag-free experience for Australian & New Zealand gamers.

Maybe it's also to prevent people from importing US and UK versions too. So we can't play against US/UK users online either? This is pretty sucky. I'm seriously considering buying a US version down the track.

Don't know, there are different theorys as to what it means. We'll find out.
 
Whoah! Hold your proverbial horses. What the **** is this about not being able to play online with anyone outside your region?! This game isn't going to be that popular in Asia and I'm buggered if I'm buying this only to not be able to play online!
 
I've not heard a peep about this reigion locking. And I'm sure there would be some serious pitch fork shakeing if it where the case. 10/10.....WITH reigon locking? Nope don't think so! I would take it that this is not locked....the quote in the earlier thread said the Australian version WAS locked for reasons of lag........fair enough if it was a big issue....in fact no thats not ok for newzeland and australia nor for anyone outside of that area with friends there who want to play online together! Interesting development I'm sure the US and europeans will be able to shoot each other but theres the Asian teritories as well Lets hope private games are not locked. I think Sony needs to stop Beta testing Home and get it wheeled out now! there needs to be continuity in online games on the PS3, not this reigon locking idiocy, it's bad enough with GT5p but understandable to a degree, now GTA IV seems to be doing the same to a lesser extent. Has anyone else heard anything else regarding this info?

Will asia and Hong Kong have its own version? or will it just be US imports, if so then you should be able to play with US peeps...
