Bloody hell. After four consecutive podiums in Formula C, I was feeling pretty confident in my abilities ... and then I got to Mont-Tremblant. The AI is taking the first corner over the hill 20-30km/h faster than me. Although there was one point where I was trying to reclaim fourth place from Sofie Müller and we ended up going side-by-side into the first corner, with about six drivers behind us, ready and waiting to pounce on a mistake. I don't know how I did it, but I went into the corner on the outside and in fifth place, and came out of the corner in one piece and in fourth.

I'm not game enough to try it again.

Hint: it's flat out
Not when you've still got more traction than you'd like. I still can't find the perfect balance, and as a result, any abrupt changes in direction at speed tend to pitch me into a spin.

It doesn't matter, though. I still finished with a fourth and a fifth placing, and I'm third overall.

You take a late apex, straighten the wheel as you go over the crest, and turn back in as you're landing.

I guess it's not common for those who don't live in one of the most hilly regions, but it should be somewhat simple to visualize for next time.

But, congratulations.

I love Mont Tremblant. It's so much more dependent on line than most tracks, and you can really slip one up the inside of the AI in a few places if you know what you're doing. Great for passing, and great for just hooning around. It's one of my favourite tracks for just lapping because you can get into such a great flow, so much of the track is flat out or near as dammit.

I did the Formula C there last night, and I managed to win both races but it was bloody close. It took me until the last couple of laps both times to get into first, and I had only started fourth.

My problem is that it was my first time on the full circuit. I've literally done hundreds of laps of the south circuit in touring cars, so I know that part really well. But it's the first corner over the hill, the blind left up under the bridge and the blind hairpin where I lose a bundle of time. I just couldn't get the line right in practice, and while I put in a decent time in qualifying, it wasn't until the end of the second race that I was comfortable enough to lap consistently. And it didn't help that the AI was putting a ton of pressure on me - I was the Trulli Train. Whatever gains I picked up in the south loop, I would lose at the north end.

If I had a GT Endurance car that I could fine-tune, it would be a lot more fun.

Speaking of track changes, I hope they vary the tracks in online playlists. I've done a lot of touring car races, and its always the same 2 or 3 tracks for each car.

Oh, you'll come to love it eventually. I've had probably hundreds of laps on it in Ferrari Challenge, so I know it well. And to be fair, the north end has the trickiest parts so you did well just not stuffing it in a wall for the whole race. :)

Got my white driver rating earlier. Didn't take as long as it did in GRID 2. Now to see if I can keep it!
I was lucky enough to end up in a clean room last night and moved up from yellow to white and put in several perfectly clean races to solidify the white rating for a while. It really does make a difference when you're in a room with many white rated drivers, they really try and stay clean.

Last night when the lobby went to the track a message popped up. "Are you ready?". And then I was driving solo on the track. I thought it was a glitch at first, but then realized it was a 3 lap Time Attack!!! I think that's a great idea, gives you a little break from the constant races and allows you to relax a bit and just attack the course without having to watch for others, but still racing against the clock. Well done CM:tup:

The rating is great! I am between white and green because occasionally I mess up on the street tracks or Okuyama and there my white rating disappeared quite easily while hitting a few walls. :boggled: The aim here is also to have a white rating.

The other night I got into a room and just got torpedoed every corner in a couple of races and my rating went yellow. Went to another room and the same thing, guys would go flying through the entire grid in the first corner. My next night on, last night, I was extra cautious, easy through the first few corners, and hyper aware of who was behind me and how close, all the time. It took a few clean races to get back to white and then even though I should have left because it was late, I stayed on to get some more white in the bank:idea:

I think now, when I join a room, I'm going to look at who is there and their ratings. If they guys with the most points, that are starting on the pole are white, I'll stick around. If not I'll move on to greener pastures because it really makes a difference. I had some truly epic racing with a couple of other white rated drivers and it's well worth it to search them out. If there was a way to incorporate this into making an open lobby it would solve a lot of problems.

Washington Hill Circuit in Cat. C Touring cars is superb.

Someone literally blocked me during Time Attack... Totaled my car. In time attack. The guy was all "I'm too cool to lose" until I explained the premise of time attack. Codies could've at least explained that TA isn't a race.

I'm white and I only do Touring Car races..... granted.... it is more difficult to find a room of greens/whites when selecting Touring only
I've had no problems... Join a game, move over on the first straight, let everyone by...

Then run through the entire field easily, like a knife through butter

Oh Andrew you're so fast!! I just hope I am lucky enough to run in a lobby with you sometime so some of your greatness can rub off on me:lol:

You've been in a lobby with me. Several times.

You wouldn't know because I said "Hey, JP! :) How's it going?" Like 20 times...
