Had this happening with GT5 frequently also, was stupid enough to do a forced reset on my PS3 after the game didn't react anymore and there went my first year playing down the drain...

I think my fault was that i kept pressing the on/off button like you would do on a pc, but if you press it just once and just wait it out after the beep, the PS3 will switch off without corrupting itself.

Just backup your saves frequently on your USB and that's that.

Absolutely, that's a must. When I played GT6 I backed it up to USB after every session
You must also back that USB up to a PC or other device and rename it so it isn't overwritten. If you continuously back up to USB you constantly overwrite your existing save, so if your latest save turns out to be corrupt, then your game crashes, you're out of luck. Happened to me on GT5 and only thing that saved me was the PC backup.

If you insert the USB stick into the PC, rename the save on the USB, copy and paste to PC. That way when you save again on USB it creates a new, unique save and you have duplicate copies of all old saves on USB and PC. I rename mine from PS3 to PS3, [current date]. Of course to use that save as a reboot, you must rename it to it's original "PS3"

This a thousand times over. Even as someone who now has the cloud thanks to Playstation plus, I still manually back up my saves on the USB.

Just picked this game up today from Gamestop, Limited Black Edition. Looking forward to a change of pace from GT6. Thanks to @Johnnypenso and everyone else's reviews, really made it an easy decision for me to get the game. Now to get on with the fun.
I took a day of work tomorrow just so i could race tonight, that's how good this game is :D

Cool. 👍 And yea, just for the record to everyone that's knows me, I'm not giving up on GT and my goals there. ;) Also not worried about how it stacks up against GT and Forza....just needed something on a less serious basis to relax and have fun with as opposed to my daily more serious game play and grind with GT. :) Looking forward to just having fun and not worrying about anything else.

Don't know if anybody else is getting this in the X360 version, but the color banding in the sky (both day and night) is pretty noticeable. Makes it look like the graphics for the sky were copied and pasted from the PS2 era or something.

Eveyrthing else is visually top notch, expect for liveries looking a bit blocky up close.

I haven't noticed anything weird to be honest, graphics and circuit atmosphere look top notch for PS3. But if i can keep my eye of the track i'll try and pay attention to the sky and report back to you ;)

If i'm not mistaken others also mentioned this before.

They have eh? Must have missed that.

It's noticeable on all tracks where clouds are scarce and there isn't direct glare from the sun.

At night... ekhh, horrible! Check out Brands Hatch and Hockenheim. You'll see what I mean.

As luck has it i just finished my first endurance race at night and placed 5th 👍

I watched the sky and i think i know what you mean; if you really pay attention to it you can see the layers of light that form the sky in shades so to speak.

Thing is i only noticed it after you mentioned it @Speedster911 , and i've been playing for over a week now, so it's not like it's obstructing your vision or it's disturbing (at least it isn't on PS3). Could have been done a bit better yes.

Are there any threads in the section you haven't posted this in? I think you should put it in some of the Grid 2 threads, just in case. You know, warn people that buy the old game that the new one has blocky sky.

Not that it's not a good thing to mention, but I swear you've managed to work it into every discussion you've taken part of in this section.

Honestly, I've never noticed it. If I have "my eyes on the horizon, like a real racing driver", it's because there's a car in front of me and I'm looking for a few extra tenths to catch him up.

At this point, I think you're just looking for "problems" in the game. I haven't heard you say anything positive about it.

It should fit the bill then. I've mainly raced Touring Cars and some street cars and dabbled in Open Wheel and find the TC car races really challenging on Very Hard without ABS. It's the racing that makes this game for sure, and I find it tremendous fun.

Hmm, okie dokie. Maybe it's more visible on the X360 version. What kinda TV you got mate?

Yezzirr, yes aa'have! I was gettin' no response, so I thought.. mehh what the heck?!

While were on the subject, GRID II had great looking skies. Visually, I would say they both stand fairly at the same level, although car detail seems to have been improved. And some tracks look really sharp.

Pity about the sky. Seems to stand out a bit with such brilliant-looking track and car textures. I sit far away from the screen with the backlight down to zero and playing in a completely dark room. That's how I'm making it less noticeable.

I bet it's not even visible in the PC version; dem' guys even got a texture pack.

Wrong... I've said plenty of positive things about it. Get a pair of reading glasses Uncle Bob! :D

Why so quick to judge?

I wouldn't read too much into that. The game was only released in Europe on Friday.

We're sitting 2nd in PS3 sales charts, 2nd in Xbox sales charts and 4th in PC sales charts.

7th in overall retail charts, when we only released 3 days ago isn't bad at all.

2nd Week Gas has dropped out of the top 10 charts completely and that's after a full week of sales, Down to 16th from 7th. Making that call not to put the game on PS4 & XO has been disastrous. Many of us called this would happen when the game got announced so it's odd that you guys missed it considering the decline of last gen software sales in the past year or two.

Shame because it finally looks as if Codies might be finally heading in the right direction again after years and years of odd decisions and poorish games.

And that "many of you" have consistently failed to recognise that GRID AUTOSPORT was intended as a last-gen send-off for racing games. You seem intent on proving that slow sales equals an all-around bad game.

I'm very grateful GAS was released on PS3; I originally bought the console for GT5 but now, only in the fall of it's life it has encountered the racing game that was meant for it

Thanks for the info but as a consumer I enjoy the game that's all I care about at this point. I enjoy it enough that when the next version releases on PS4/PC it'll be an instant buy for me.

I don't think the upgrades in this game impact the cars or performance the way they do in Forza or GT. Just let it go man, enjoy the racing!

I'll be sticking to my 360 for at least another year, maybe more. Good games will continue to come out. I'm overall happy to have purchased GAS, and will be looking forward to the new gen purchase.

GAS2 ought to have more sim elements. Somewhat of an overhaul of physics and sounds exclusively for new gen would be a huge plus.

Yup thanks to this game i'm in no rush to go out and open my wallet for a next gen console. It will take care of my racing fix for more than a year, whilst i got lot's of other games for current gen that i hardly even touched (also own a 360).

Regarding Devs continuing to focus on these formats; i doubt they will. Consider this year to be the last and from 2015 onwards all focus will be on next gen for new games.

I must say the online for grid Autosports is a lot better than gt6 it keeps me more entertained. I guess it's because its more arcade style. Also the levelling up system is good will take me a while to level up a certain discipline.
