GT Academy Edition Challenge Online Qualifying TT

I own the Academy Edition and have an unused code. It's the European version though. Don't know what the code could be worth?

LOL thanks man, your doing pretty well for yourself. I'll be sure to be following your progress closely. :)

Wouldnt it be nice to have GTA: AUS/NZ and have a chance with racing with the Kelly racing in their new V8 nissan... dreams are free. :D

Long way to go haha. It would be awesome if the full blown GT Academy does come back here...which is why I've been petitioning for it to come back!

Weeew! GT Academy NZ/AU online petition is full steam ahead on my end.

Let's do this guys! If you're from New Zealand or Australia please get in touch with Nissan and PlayStation to bring the competition back to this part of the world.

Read the facebook photo that you are a filipino? Am i correct?

I was able to reach my goal of 47's in my second session with 1'47.969, good for 126 at the moment. I know I can pick pick up more time based on best sectors but it will be a matter of putting it together. Getting the correct entry and exit line is so critical with so many corners bunched close together. It seems one bad corner and the lap is just shot.

te?

Yep. But been in New Zealand for the good part of 12 years. Now let's keep the discussion about the time trial or GT Academy shall we ;)

Ok, since I can't care less about this event, I'm going to give away my GT academy code for the EU version to the first one who sends me a PM.

I don't know if the GT-R N24 Academy car is available to people who don't have the academy edition though, or if the car will be available for this event only....

The car is part of the TT. You don't need to own it, but it is available as a single DLC item

IMMORTALPILOT's current first place run is a work of art. Beautiful driving IP.

Interesting to see how different driving styles still produced more or less the same lap time between IP and Ti-tech.

Tidgney's been kind enough to post a video of his first run for us to view on youtube if you're at work and wanted to do a bit of study :P

...

Enjoy the video =)

Attempted for first time properly today. Took a while to learn track and get used to car but feel i can know off bit more time with few adjustments to line and gear selections. Immortal Pilot awesome time don't know how you do it! Hope a kiwi makes it through sitting in 128th, I will be happy with 1.46. 1.45 is asking a bit much but theres still a long way to go yet...

Good stuff Mitzy. That's a good time for a first day of TT'ing (unless you're one of the aliens).

I set a 7 minute lap in a spare PSN account and currently there's about 4000 people who've set a time in the regions eligible for a prize. Jumped up by 3 more users in the space of 5 minutes but I'm not sure if that's actually the number of people competing or if it's just one PS3 being used to farm the challenge for credits.

I have done few seasonal event tt's, end up doing ok in most just don't have the time or patience to grind away for days. Your doing bloody well! If someone from NZ was to make it in top 6 do you know if they would have to pay for trip to Silverstone? I'm guessing we do..

Quick beg - how to get a code ASAP - local distributor is out of stock! No stock until towards end of January!

If someone in the UK / elsewhere could buy me a copy and email me the competition code - we could sort out money and shipping later, I would sort the money for that brother out, no question...

Desperate Kiwi.

Hey Mike.

Were you looking to buy at Mighty Ape? The only other place where you may be able to get the code earlier is Fish Pond - http://www.fishpond.co.nz/Games/Gran-Turismo-5-Playstation-3/0711719263937

Says that they ship within 24 hours from the UK supplier but I don't know how long it will take to actually get the game here in NZ.

If I were you I would buy one on ebay, and ask them to send you the code ASAP via PM

How on earth are Europeans doing sub 45's?

Had a quick look at the data logger and compared IP's best time to one of mine and the main difference is how much speed the top guys can carry into the corners from sectors 1 and 2 without compromising the next corner or going off.

If only this TT involved X2010's...

No one is doing sub 45's (yet).
IP is on 1:45.199 as we speak = sub 46's.

I agree with your data analysis though. Turn 1 is a mother :). I'm 82 places behind your 1:46.720 on 1:47.514. I'm running consistent low-1:48's now, but only a few days ago I was in the 1:50's. I'm sure I can get into the consistent 1:47's and maybe post a lucky 1:46. Top 100 would make me happy.
Good luck Luis :)

Hey thanks Luis, well I checked out trusty nzgameshop.com which I should have looked at anyways... always cheapest, normally quick delivery from the UK. I bought off there, so lets see what happens... still looking for a quicker way though! Looked at eBay, hmmm... should look again...

Just noticed that Amo_Racing87 is on 1:45.166. 1 thousandth of a second behind IMMORTALPILOT, but Italian, so non-competitive. That must feel sooo frustrating.

That's a Belgian flag next to his name, or am I missing something obvious?

hi guys, i am never going to have a shot at winning this thing but would like to get to the point of achieving gold at least for the cash if nothing else. I saw the comments about watching the top guys replays and getting tips on gear changes etc. Just wondering if you could help me out with settings for ABS, traction control etc. Do you guys just leave them at there standard settings or is there something better to get quicker lap times?

Thanks for your time and any help

Just managed a 1.46.673 tied for 61st. My first sector times are not consistent enough to break into 1.45 will give it another shot tomorrow.. Time to call it a night.

Oops sorry that sub shouldn't have been there . Good luck to you and to everyone else competing also

Good stuff. Got some natural GT talent there dude 👍. I must've spent 4 hours today trying to go a tenth faster than the 1,46'720 I did but just couldn't put a lap together. I'm about 0.150 seconds off my best sectors so my theoretical PB at the moment is a 1,46'2xx. Hopefully I can hook a good one up after class tomorrow.

Cheers man, a good 1.2 seconds out of top 6 which is a lot of time still to make up. Going to be some sleepless nights coming up... Hopefully top 6 don't get too much faster!
