I haven't been playing Racing Games since GT3 was all new and never used a wheel before February this year. Before I never put much effort into it so I'm pretty satisfied with my poor 1.22 but it's a bad feeling to kind of having hit a wall. I can see it crumbling with more practise though, but the top times truly amaze me and I doubt I will ever get to such a level of driving skill :(

Well I'll keep up the traing and upgrade to a G25 sooner or later (DFP right now) and see where I'll end up :)

All french drivers under 1.21 are Clutch 👍

I hate that but I had do deal with it in order to get my time too... without the clutch.
Even if there's only 3 main gearchange with the clutch, it's worth 0.3 but I would say that the car handle better too when using it...

Also use the ATR for changing brakes and abs :sly:

Hi all I've whittled down to a 1.21.5(currently 25th) but I can only challenge when I'm half drunk ! Hope the G25 helps though when it arrives !


EDIT:
Make that 15th on a 1.21.3 :) does anyone know what kind of racing will be going on in the finals ? Obviously the 350Z but perhaps racing around Fuji or something ??
 
Not any idea at the moment.... even don't know when event should take place (For France I mean) 👍

Our #1&2 are just insanely fast! Especially the T1 of POPO__Plus shocked me (33.790) and he was 0.1 faster throughout the lap than the current #1 but lost a little in the last corner, otherwise he might have done a low 1'20.1xx or even a 1'20.0xx :drool:

I myself am getting faster too, but still nowhere near the Top 20. My current record is still with the DFP, two days ago I got myself a G25 though :cool:
Shifting with the clutch & stick is giving me a lot of trouble and still costs me a lot of time especially since I have still no idea how to heel & toe, which gives me trouble while downshifting + breaking. But it doesn't matter since it's actually a lot of fun and I'm already down to a 1'21.824 with the new wheel and I can see a lot of room for improvement. The G25 feels so much better than the DFP!
 
Those are incredible fast times indeed. In Holland the fastest time is around 1'20.3xx. My best time so far is a 1'21.9xx (no. 19 yesterday) and I'm struggling to improve that one...
 
Holy cow!!! 1'21 I think it's pretty darn fast....boy oh boy I guess I was wrong. That's insane...do they even blink? lol

Im currently 5th on uk academy with a time of 1'20.994 using a DFP and i honestly think that my time is on the limit of what is possible with a DFP as it took me over an hour of lapping 1'21.100 to 1'21.300 's before i managed my current time!. But never fear as my G25 arrives on monday and with the upshift advantages that you get with the 25 im hoping to shave some tenth's off that !!
 
I'm at the moment 11th french with 1.20.904 which would be 4th in UK... I'm playing with G25 and it's now time to work on it :sly:

Don't worry, you will improve your time greatly with the G25 but have to practice lot on gear changing as it will completely change your way of driving.
I am too using the clutch for the first time in hot lapping and can tell, you will need couple of hours training before you can be faster than the DFP ;)

I think 1'20.600 is DFP maxed out.. :scared: so we both have still room to improve 👍 :) I'm with DFP too.
 
I agree 1'20.600 would probably be possible but would take all day to get it!!, Those german times are just jaw dropping! They must have the reflexes of a "jedi knight" lol :crazy: ive just got my shipping confirmation email for my G25 it will be here monday, ive been scrubbing up on my heel toe techniques in my "real" car in preperation all week and my missus does not appriciate it as i scream into roundabouts bliping the throttle as i change ha :scared:

I decided some days ago not to go back to this until I drop out of the top 20. I just can't see the point in spending hours on this if 1st place is no different than 20th place. :confused:

Same here. Seems a waste of time regularly getting "in the zone" for an attempt on 1:20.6 if there's no need. Top laps seem to be holding up ok at the moment though. The evening of July 18th is going to be fun! Power cuts anyone?:scared::scared::scared::D

Same here, the Finnish boys with g25 can't get their flow going..lol (just kidding!!) ..give me some competition (=motivation)...!! :) I'll give it another go when I drop from the 1st place.. lol :D

I'm about to have another crack at this just now, I haven't had much time lately but I was really struggling with my T1 time - I couldn't get it lower than 34.6 so I was losing over half a second on most of the top times.

I'm just assuming that the national final (stage 2) is in Hellsinki, as it is most obvious choice. The academy page has now FAQ, where everything is told another time, for those who didn't read the agreement, or what is it called.. :)

But basically more time trials and medical / physical tests ---> you get points for all of these and the 1-3 best candidats will be sent to UK.. (so maybe not even the fastest in tt's)

13 people below 1'21 by now and I suppose by next weekend the top 20 cutoff will be 1'21.000. Hopefully I'll keep improving like I did so far, then it looks like I might break the 1'21 barrier. I'm still having trouble downshifting and my T1 sucks really bad. On my fastest lap I lost 0.7 on our #2 player in sector 1 (34.5xx:crazy:) and only 0.3 on the rest of the track. So I know where to look for half a second, if I happen to find that my time wouldn't look that bad :cool:
