Since PD kind of left damage out of the game that they said it would be, a big feature I would love is being able to modify a car's engine to the point that they do irl. I mean You can get a stock ford gt and twin turbo it with its stock supercharger still on and push out to 1k hp. I'm not power crazy, but I would really love to drive the GT1500. Trying to keep that thing on the track and seeing what lap times it would put up would be bad***. Also to top that off is the ability to actually blow an engine. I mean real driving simulator? no engines can ride a redline so much. Lets see some engines blowing up!

GT shouldn't copy FM, but why does it need to lack so many features that other race sims have had for years? It's obvious that the "damage" was modeled into every individual car, do we need this? It doesn't even look realistic, no crumple zones, no deformation, just loose panels, and missing doors, lame. Build generic deformation into the game engine that works for all cars, with crumple effects similar to SHIFT 2, then build each car model in stages, start off with the body without bumpers, bonnets, doors, wheels etc, then leave it to the game engine to decide, based on the impact what panels to remove. Then there you have it, real time, realistic damage. I myself would love to see crashes that take you out of the action.

And why no livery editor? Heck even just throw in an image editor, and give us skin templates to draw our own. That'd be amazing, it'd put FM, and SHIFT 2 to shame, and PD wouldn't have to code an entire in depth interface, and the amount of detail you can make is great. I've made skins for LFS, and a livery editor from SHIFT 2, is not any faster, or more detailed, infact, I spend more time screwing with crappy controls, and switching layers, then I do actually placing vinyls. Heck even remove the in game image editor, we can do it on the PC, just give us the ability to import skins, DONE!

About more kits, maybe 1 or two more than now, but it's not really needed IMO, a simple lip kit is all you need to start, then maybe adding true aerodynamic kits with front splitters, rear diffusers, canards would be a good higher level modification. But other than that more race mods, and if you don't want livery editors cause you don't want retards to make nazi, or penis cars, give us 5 or so different RM livery's, but please just make all cars RM-able, I so want a WRC Mini Cooper, and a JGTC or Time Attack FC RX-7.

TL;DR.

Seriously, how could PD possibly implement that much into the game for all 1050 cars though? Discs can only hold so much space, and the game itself is already 8GB as it is...basically to fit all of what we want into the game we'd need about...4 256GB Slims. :indiff:

*Enormous list of requests*

Okay, there's no way the vast majority of those suggestions are gonna be implemented and for the most part there's also no need for it in my opinion.
Let's concentrate on the bare essentials (for as far customization can be considered essential) instead and what's realistically feasible.
First, forget the standard cars, any further development of those is like performing plastic surgery on a corpse.

What we really 'need' is that every wheel option becomes available for each premium car (where it applies), there may be technical/development issues preventing this possibility now but I think it's not impossible to fix in an update (more wheels would be nice but having the existing selection available for each car would already be enough for now).
Similarly in some regards is that when repainting a car available with multiple interior colours the interior changes to a default colour, would be appreciated if the chosen interior colour remained after painting.
More bodykits/spoiler options for more (again premium) cars would be nice, especially when they turn out better looking than most we have now and when adding a front spoiler it would be appreciated if you can adjust the downforce in the same way a rear spoiler does.

Some sort of livery editor function would be welcomed by me, although since that's probably a complicated new feature to implement I don't see it happen anytime soon.

This isn't a Need for Speed game, this is Gran Turismo....
underglow and LED's????? come on...

more RM'able cars would be sweet.
and...
Its been said 100 times already in these forums, making more cars premium cars would be best.

I'd be happy with four additions.

  • Livery editor.
  • Optional Hard tops for soft top convertibles.
  • Visible roll cage.
  • All/more wheels for all cars.

I only want a 2 things,
1. Engines swaps where available, like Forza motorsports.
2. More rim selections for more cars.

Other than that lets keep this Gran Turismo and not turn it into a Need for Speed game (which I have all of)

Make rims available for all cars and make RM versions of the sportscars, simple. As for liveries, even if a livery editor isn't added there should be 3-4 different designs with all elements able to be coloured along with a solid colour version with just sponsor logos and numbers.

LOL @ all the decorations. You people like to play dolly dress up with your cars.

All I want is a livery editor, more rim choice (plus ability to change standard car rims) and old tracks back like seatle and apricot hill ect, ooh more rm upgrades would be nice too

LOL @ all the decorations. You people like to play dolly dress up with your cars.

Take your beige elsewhere :dopey:

It's called personalization, it's obvious you need a personality to actually understand what it is...

Criticizing others because they like to make their cars more to their liking is just pure insanity, good thing you're not a president/prime minister...it'd be like North Korea...

Alright people I understand that this is NOT NFS or FM and that this is Gran Turismo but I mean seriously? For years they've left this stuff out and other games have had them so it's about time we got some new stuff in there.

Besides I'm not buying an Xbox.

I was under the impression that GT5 was a "real driving simulator." Most of what people seem to be calling for is visual changes or the ability to do so. It may not be wrong to ask for the ability to change cotter pins, look at your engine, or add diamond plate to a car (?!?!?) but it would be wrong to get it because as stated, GT5 is a driving simulator, not some auto-centric testosterone filled gathering where we use our rides as paper dolls and play dress-up. I know Polyphony has left some of the features off for years and probably with several reasons for it, like giving focus to the experience of driving (or some disgraceful LEDs on side skirts) and not the event of showing off pretty colors and textures. None of that **** makes a car go faster, handle better, or sound authentic. If you want an event where you can prettify your car and not worry about the tech aspects of driving... Microsoft and EA have NFS and Forza.

As for "standard" cars vs. "premium" I'm guessing not many of you have really sat and tried to model a vehicle interior. That takes a lot of time, not to mention I suspect Poly phony would have to get the accurate details and measurements licensed by the car manufacturer. It's the first title in the series with authentic interior... and auto manufacturers arent different than any other business... they're going to ask for more money to reproduce their car. I mean, how long did it take for auto manufacturers to allow their vehicles to show damage? A long time. Does it suck that there were a lot of PS2 model ports? yeah... but does that make the car less fun to drive? no.

It's a racing game, right? How many racecars competing in races do you see with under body neons, spinners and purple HID's?

Half that crap I really don't want to see make into into GT5 but there are road cars in this game that people take out such things on.

Personally, being a racing fan I just want a livery editor and more RM's w/ or w/o pre set liverys, save the bling for those who feel the need...
