@trk29: And if PD makes 50 at the same Time it would only take 8 years to convert all standards into premium. => 2019 is the release of GT6 xDDDD

B2T:
The ability to do a Carbon Trunk or Carbon Roof (M3 CSL style) besides the complete Carbonisation (like the Zonda R)

The Ability to have different front wheels than rear wheels (like the HKS hyper Genki Silvia) and to colour them independently.

The Ability to create a front window sunvisor (like seen during the Nürb24h Race, where every Car had the GT5 visor) with a custom writing (limited of course)

The ability to use the lights of the Gran Turismo Skyline Pace Car !!! Why did PD turn the lights off ??

The rest is already listed. (more variety off Body-kits, rims and exhausts etc)

The possibility to add a fragrant tree

and a foxtail

for further customization would be nice

more bodykits for GTR's like the zele R35 with the awesome looking spoiler not the high racing ones... or official body kits and more rims with deep dish and changeable width and size

OP updated.

I'll admit that very few if anything on this list gets implemented but as a developer myself it is hard to see things you missed such as bugs and whatnot when you release. Sometimes I get so so excited to release something I miss alot, therefore I sometimes do public testing. Maybe this will show them somethings in GT Auto they missed. Lord knows outside of GT auto this game could use an overhaul witha ll the things its missing.

Also how about the ability to adjust the Boost Controller on a Turbo System?
Just thought that we should be able to tune that..

As dumb as some may be, it's what people want...

Yea but I think there should be a compromise if people want Kaz or pd to take this seriously

Like the options to add such features to trucks. I think we need premium trucks before they could even think about adding things like 9. Bed bar/Show/Roll bar sets for American Trucks.

I think that GT6 will have far less cars than GT5. Since Kaz knows that everyone is not happy with the two different versions of cars he will probably convert as many as possible that are more popular and leave out all the rest that aren't. I mean really there is no way he could convert 800 cars in the time frame between now and then.

If it takes 6 months of programming to make one premium car and there are 800 cars that is 4800 months of programming. Divided by 12 that is 400 years!

Solution = larger dev team, simpler polys with tighter textures, removing damage, and reusing cars already "premium".

Our rally cars get dirty, why can't they stay[/I] dirty? They look all happily clean right after SS1-to whatever.

I agree with you, but what about the endless modifications you can actually do to your car that Polyphony limits?
I mean for starters you can get atleast 1000+BHP out of some of these cars yet the fail to exceed more than 800BHP, eg. Supras

Fair point, but if I had to guess (which is all I can do ATM), I'd say it's because of the practical application of a 1100BHP Supra. Would it be fun to boost the ride to that? Hell yeah. Would it be tedious to do repairs and upkeep on it if Polyphony kept it authentic? Probably.

Driving and racing are two different things, Kaz did say that he wanted to add a free roam mode if he had more time (I don't think it would happen but it makes me wonder about the blank white city when you start the game sometimes, that that could of been free mode.) but since this game involves "racing" and not just "driving" a car it's hardly a 'The Real Driving Simulator' it's just the closest we get to it on the PS3. If it was a 'real driving simulator' everyone would be stalling all the time as they cant control the clutch! I'm not saying its a bad game, nowhere near but i just want to make it clear that this thread is for things that we would like to have and hopefully it might be brought to Kaz's attention, as its hard to see why they've missed out on some of these key modifications which should also be implemented which weren't.

Again, fair point. I think the term "driving" is more the general verb in opposition to the specific verb, "racing." On the other hand, you can't race a car in any fashion other than tor drive it, no? Sort of like when people say, "I hear music," or "I see light." Well yeah, because you can't perceive either in an alternative method. To your point, sure people would probably stall out on their cars because they can't drive stick and that would annoy them. However, there's the manual option and you can simulate a lack of knowledge in this fashion through the game also, but not to the extent as IRL (in real life) and definitely not with the IRL consequences (imagine how many people would be upset if they stripped gears and had to buy a new clutch because they didn't know what they were doing several times in a row - they'd all just drive automatics or get throw away rides to learn (oh, just like IRL).

I understand that you object to the LEDs and whatever is just 'show and no go' but other things like engine swaps and drivetrain swaps, they happen in real life all the time in the world of Motorsports, so why shouldn't us gamers be allowed to enjoy the same thrills of building cars in the game without the real life problems? Anything should be possible in a game, it's virtual, it's not real life, if you don't like it, don't put it on your car, SIMPLE. That's what I do, I don't like matte paint but it's still there for others who do.

I'm all FOR engine swaps, and I was certain I presented that clearly, maybe not and if not - sorry. Engine swaps, drivetrain changes, even allowing users to specify engine bore, etc. - so long as it also allows the user to make mistakes and ruin the car. yes, it would be an expensive lesson - my first car IRL was a AE86 Trueno Sprinter... and I jacked the 1600cc engine all up making mistakes because I didn't want to listen and learn and you'll have the same thing in the game. Right now, the game protects users from themselves. I say let them mess it up and have to hunt down and buy a replacement just like IRL. People are asking for realism, but they're also expecting protection from it.... and I don't think it's right to give them option without the consequences.

And the car is a lot less fun to drive if it doesn't have an interior. If you've ever been doing laps at the Nurburgring 24 Hour/ Change Time / Change Weather, turn off the HUD and drive in interior view. At night with no driving line, the rain, the darkness, its just sheer excitement and adrenaline! It's one of the best experiences in the game, and it's quite a shame I can't experience it in my favourite cars and it'd be a much more "real driving simulator" then.

That my friend, is personal opinion and preference. Personally, the perspective on the internal view is a bit off. There's just a bit of the shaking and angle that isn't there when I really drive, and I attribute the camera shake being bothersome to the lack of movement my couch makes (and I'm not spending money on a vibrating chair for "A" game). When I drive my car reacts to the road and how I drive. Not so much with a couch, wheel, and TV. I get some people enjoy the perception presented in the ability to see the cockpit and the accurate detail. I admit at times I enjoy driving custom tracks and taking in scenery, exploring and then going back and taking pictures of the odd details... and that's just me. I get others have different feelings but I don't find anything exciting about the detailed cockpit over the simple HUD. I'm about the driving and the way the physics are and given what my view is wrapped in does not add to or detract from the acuality of physical events... they do not matter to me. I get your point and understand your view. I can't say it's wrong, but I can I don't share a similar experience.

To the point, should it be wrong for people to ask for more detailed interior? No... I just can't see Polyphony making it a priority in the face of things that integrate to the physics of driving, or racing, as you point out.

Free roam? I can see the point, but at the same time I cannot. Part of me would feel as though it would be pointless beyond testing settings and driving around in endless circles for the sake of "enjoying" the vehicle. If the mode were implemented with an ability to free roam in a city populated by other online players, then you get asshats that will hit your car, block the roads, or challenge you to stop light races (which... why free roam if all you'll do is race?). The point is, there's a lot to consider in the logistics side of a Free roam mode that would also be worth implementing and be fun for users as a whole. That's something I think a lot of people are missing when they think about features in games; it's not what they'd think is fun, it's what would b e fun on average for the majority of users. Things progress slow because it has to appeal the the largest audience possible.

Not sure if its been said but I would quite like to be able to buy paints and wheels from the manufacturers, I don't want some tuner wheels on a Ferrari, I want Ferrari wheels on a Ferrari.

WOW what a huge waste of time! Do you really think kaz cares what others want? Go to T10, they listen...

T10 listens because they're about the bottom line, not the passion or excitement of driving. Forza listens to the "people" and the "people" kept telling them to recreate GT on XBOX... so... the point of going to T10 is what? to encourage them to give XB users what PS users have had all along? SMART!

Dr. Evil Riiiiiiiiight.gif

T10 are about the bottom line, and what, Polyphony aren't? Give me a break. Polyphony Digital does not run on fresh air. Sony are not going to continue funding this studio just because PD are about the "passion and excitement of driving", whatever the hell that means.

And how exactly are T10 not about the "passion or excitement of driving"? In case you haven't noticed, car customisation is a huge passion and pastime of many car owners seeking to make a car their own. In Forza you can do that; you can make your car your own. In GT, you're left with the same generic car as everyone else. You can't do anything to your car that no-one else couldn't do.

And I'm not quite sure where you get this idea that Xbox owners are asking T10 to deliver a GT game for Xbox? In every Forza thread I visit, I don't see the community asking for ridiculous game design decisions, a broken online mode, a broken credit system, a broken paint chip system, tedious animations that you can't skip, limited customisation, personalisation, modification and tuning options.

Nope, I definitely don't see Forza players asking for those. So quit being a pretentious jerk.

What the Hell another useless FM vs. GT discussion. People just want to paint and add stickers to their freakin cars as you do IN REAL LIFE, PERIOD. All other comments "go play NSF" are just unecessary BS to this thread and this forum. This is a freakin common feature in every damn simulator out there (even Iracing, which is light years more simulative than GT5) so people will keep requesting it no matter what. You fanboys better shut your mouth.

I read the list, but it doesnt appear anyone has listed those weird yellow racing headlights. They look pretty cool on a lot of cars.

Long list, and the obvious ones is naturally there. I haven't read every word, but has anyome said rotorblade rims?? :D Kidding, that's probably the most NFS-ish thing in the world of racing games and it's ugly ;)

I only want a 2 things,
1. Engines swaps where available, like Forza motorsports.
2. More rim selections for more cars.

Other than that lets keep this Gran Turismo and not turn it into a Need for Speed game (which I have all of)

I agree with this, these are two things I would love to see in the game. Also, perhaps a simple livery/vinyl editor, where we could put basic things like racing stripes or sponsor decals. Also, a few more aero kits, hoods, wings, etc, that are actually real. Like, only add in aero kits that are used on race cars in real life. So we can make our own race modifications for cars. Instead of asking PD to do it for us...

But yeah, basically a better selection of racing rims(with option to set tire width, pressure, etc), engine swaps that are possible in real life, like a corvette engine in a camaro, more aero kits(racing bumpers, side skirts, wings, hoods), and a basic, simple racing livery editor with realistic racing decals/vinyls.

These are things you would expect to see in a realistic driving/racing simulator. Many of the things on the first post's list are unnecessary in a game like GT5, but the things I mentioned above would just make sense, imo...

I really love the system from Split Second where you can unlock stickers & special livery in your offline & online campaign. Would be awesome for GT5. :dopey:👍

Or maybe a option to mix 2 or 3 colors to create your own livery. :)

Some of the things listed here are just retarded.. Side Skirt LED'S? Carbonize entire vehicle? Half of the things listed here are completely useless. A ricer fan's wet dream. Get outta here man..:banghead:

So...because of that, those options shouldn't be included? What a utterly ridiculous argument. The availability of such options is better than no availability at all.

If some people don't want such customisation, then fine, don't use those tools. There will always be the boring and limited GT customisation there to make you happy.

But make no mistake about it, a section of the community would like such customisation (I'm one), and it's better to cater to those people than arbitrarily shut them out.

It would give the online community such a shot of adrenaline.

It's not an "utterly ridiculous argument", it's a SENSIBLE one. Underbody neon LED's do not add to the performance of any car, and seem to be changes for changes sake, or to make the game "like" another game. It seems as though there's this gamer mantra of "if you make it exactly the same then I won't have to decide if I like it or not, I already will!!'. Sorry, but that's not a reason to insert a lot of these changes.

These changes would not "give the online community such a shot of adrenaline", they would probably bring in a lot of the ricer crowd, who would be more interested in tricking out their car rather than racing it. We don't need Gran Turismo to become "Pimp My Ride Online".

Most of these "suggestions" seem to fall into the "fast and furious" side of car culture. I think it's safe to say that's not what Gran Turismo has ever been about. What I would like to see added are more seasonal events and more cars pertaining to them. I've wanted to see a Classic Coupe event for some time. I think that would give the community more of a benefit that spoilers and neon lights.

There would be no harm in adding it though.. if you don't like ricers, you just stay away from rice and find a crowd of people that like classics. No one is forcing you to use the extras.

Why not have both great racing and lots of customization? Nothing wrong with that. If you don't like customizing then you don't have to.
