racing around High Speed Ring and a mission (license test?)

You can clearly see it's not a GTP'er by these signs...

1. He presses the wrong button for acceleration at first (too obvious).
2. He quickly press Select to change to an unplayable view.
3. He has no feeling for brake points or weight transfer.

Probably more signs, but it looks like he tries to play it like a need for speed game. He's like "I did everything right! I went fullspeed, got sideways... why aren't I first?":P

EDIT: It's time for a Nurburgring Video! I see it in the menu all the time!

4 cars is the max in GT Mobile :)

exactly

great movies! i can't wait for this game.

but there is one small thing: at monaco the strait after casino where's the big bump in the road?:sly:

i just had to say that:nervous: i still can't wait for the psp and gtM.

the vids look really good. Yeah only 4 cars. But hey at least they will handle better and look better than any other racing game on the psp.

I love it and I am also looking very much towards this title.

It can't be easy to release a game with the Polyphony Digital sticker on it. People raise the bar sky high instantly. So it's the best game on any handheld with best physics, best content, best everything. Still not good enough ;)

I guess the game review magazines will get the game soon. Don't they usually review games a few months before the release? Hope we get more info that way, or is there a game show coming up before release (TGS?)

Facepalm!

I only just noticed this, but the version of High Speed Ring in this gameplay video of GT Mobile is not the same as the one in GT5:P! In fact, it is the same as the version in GT4, but with graphical enhancements/modifications.

This leaves me with a couple of questions. Will both versions of High Speed Ring be in either GT Mobile or GT5, or both, and how many, if any, other tracks will receive a remake for GT5 that may or may not make it into GT Mobile? I wonder when it is that this information will be revealed.

Of course they used the GT4 model, they just needed to scale the textures down.
The GT5P version is a complete new model and it wouldnt be worth the work to re-model it for the PSP.

From the Monaco/Cote d'Azur thread:

"Why should they model a complete new track if they can use a compressed version rom GT4?"

So that they don't have to hang onto two separate versions of the same track, unless they plan to offer each version as a different layout. The team that works on the Gran Turismo franchise, if I recall correctly, is split between different versions as needed. Having multiple versions of the same track ultimately will lengthen development time, with the exception of reusing the GT4 version of both tracks mentioned in Mobile.

It just seems to me like a design choice made with the short term, rather than the long term, in mind. I say this because tracks that have seen redesigns in the past scrapped the older versions, rather than offering older versions as a separate layout. This would mean that Mobile is a fourth generation Gran Turismo game, whereas GT5 is, naturally, a fifth generation game (if you know what I mean), not that this distinction is a bad thing by any means. I simply find it odd that, with both games within a relatively short period of time from one another, they do not share the same track layouts for some of the iconic tracks.

For quick reference. To clarify, I find it odd that GT Mobile and GT5 are not both being designed as fifth generation Gran Turismo games, at least in terms of track layouts, but that is just me.

GTM was started way back when PD was still working on GT4, it's only now that we hear about it. It is a 5th gen GT, or a delayed 4th gen, but let's call it a 5th gen :). It has PS3 class graphics, PS3 class driving physics, but PS2 class content.

It has PS3 class graphics

It's always funny this kind of comments... what a magical trick to put the power of a PS3 in an handeld which is less powered than a PS2!

here is a screenshot from one HD video: yes, it is (like EVERY game on the PSP) aliased and dithered (pattern in the colors - a trick to show MORE colors than the one used to gain some FPS), If GTPSP is close to GT4, it still will be a magnific game for the PSP... but don't dream too much. :sly:

GTM is almost up to PS3 standards when it come to graphics, jsut look at the gameplay videos, no pixels, no jaggies, realistic shadows, realistic light physics. It can be compared to any other racing game on any console with graphics. Watch the video and look closly.
