I'm finding it difficult to complete GT World Championship in professional events

I did have a Nissan 350z Le-mans with around 900bhp which was around 200bhp more than the rest of the cars but it had a V6 and the rest had V8 which did'nt help and acceleration at lower speeds with V8 is better than a V6 :indiff:

I now have a AMG-Mercedes CLK GTR Race car with 1031bhp and is much fast then the rest of the cars but I'm still finding it difficult :grumpy:

What cars and setups do you lot recommand fo this race?

Sorry to say but once you get to this part of GT4 you can't really tune your way out of trouble :grumpy: . It's all in the driving.

Any of the Le Mans type racing prototypes can win these races with about 900 bhp. All you have to do is practice. If you can do 3 or 4 laps without hitting the walls or falling off the track, you can win the race 👍 .

As far as set-up goes, avoid making the car difficult to drive - don't go for masses of power ;) . Use medium race tyres and aim to stop half way. The opposition will stop after half way, and use pretty hard tyres, but they still stop. Then try and get a fast lap in when your tyres are cold, and also when their tyres are cold, as they are much slower then. So in a 10 lapper, you stop at the end of lap 5, do a storming lap 6, they stop at the end of lap 7, you do a storming lap 8, and voila, you get the cash, the champagne, and the girl... :D

Welcome to the REAL GT4

And sorry to say but you should have searched...

It's not that difficult as long as you can run clean laps. FastEddie12's advice of using medium tires gíves you good handling but if you have a well-balanced car you can also use R1 tires and finish most of the races without pitting. Choose the one that suits you better.

Keep trying - eventually you'll be the champion!

Work on your car setups, try every possible suspension setup, LSD, weight distribution, gears, etc. until you find what works for you.

I was able to beat the championship with a stock Toyota GT-ONE '99.

VERY Happy to see some polite answers rather than your being "Flamed"...especially since you're a Brand New Member.

BTW: WELCOME to the GTP Forums 👍 Try inserting "GTWC" in the search box, you should come up with a BUNCH of helpful threads. I've included links to two of my own HERE & HERE, Hopefully they should provide you with some useful info...O.G. :D

Well...you could start by swapping the stage 4 turbos w/the stage 3 turbos, to increase your accelleration, but as the 2nd post states, " You can't really tune your way out of trouble."

I used a stock CLK GTR with some R2s and won. Remember that it is a championship and that you don't have to win every race just be consistent. The hardest races for me were the Motegi Superspeedway and El Capitan.

I know I have to stop every 5 laps to change tires (Racing mediums)

I like using B-Spec but the computer sometimes hits a wall for not turning :boggled:
so I like to drive

I did search and found a setup for the CLK so I'll try that and change the turbo from a stage 4 to a 3

I noticed quite a few of you recommend cars which cost 4 and a half million :irked:

You will most likely not win in B-Spec with a CLK GTR. You should use Racing hards on the rear and racing mediums on the front. You'll last much longer than the AI cars on tires. Turn off the oversteer/understeer asists to increase tire life.

Then, be aware that there is no need to worry about buying a car. You can do it with a number of prize cars and pretty much $0 if only you can get yourslef to wait a little longer.

Once you have enough prize cars you can choose to do the GTWC with any of the following prize cars

Also add the Nissan R89C for him there Mr.Slow. That's what I used after winning it from Mission 34, and demolished the opposition with it just changing tyres.

Mafs!!

I would agree with that apart from one thing. Don't try and get a fast lap in when your tyres are cold. On your first lap on new tyres, take it easy, squeeze the throttle in the slow corners. You will get payback later on in the stint, and will ultimately be able to run faster laps and gain time.

The computer cars are very slow when they have just pitted. I mean, for several laps. I do not know why they improve so dramatically over the stint - cold tyres might have something to do with it, but it seems a bit exaggerated to me.

Any Le Mans Prototype car should be able to win this race in stock form. Some, like the BMW McLaren and the Mercedes CLK-GTR, are difficult, but still possible. The group C cars are the most competitive, because they have more grip and power than the modern LMPs, but they do suffer a disadvantage in fuel consumption and tyre wear.

You can get pretty easy lineups for this race, but you can also get pretty hard ones. The most dangerous opponents are the Sauber C9 and Mazda 787B. The Audi R8 should be a threat too, but I have never raced against it. Other group C cars like the Minolta and Jaguar, whilst very fast, aren't quite such a threat because they chew up fuel and tyres - they suffer over a race distance.

So basically, lineups with group C cars in are hard, lineups without group C cars in are easy.

I used my Zonda Race car to complete this championship. It's a good challenge and I did a big write up on this a while ago. If you want to read it go here
