I've tried it on different races so yes I know what you mean. Great fun though if you don't mind not winning. They are popular yes, but they don't make that many, I think they are even hand made so they can't mass produce. I'm not sure that they are avaulable in the States which probably explains why you have never seen any. If you watch Le Mans you might see them in the background as the LMP's rush past, sometimes the TV director in England follows one for a while which is nice but it is a rare treat for us TVR lovers.

One day I would like to own and drive a Cerbera, the only car that Clarkson's scared off.

The Cerbera is sweet in GT1! Quite a world of difference from the Griffith. Even when I was in California I never saw any TVRs. I think it's just that nobody here even knows they exist, except for Gran Turismo fans, and so there's probably no dealers in the states. . This is the same deal with Skylines, I never even heard of one till I started GTing.

What about Aston Martins? Are they as bad as Gran Turismo makes them out to be? :)

dunno about aston martins, but the Cerbera was a sweet car indeed!

I particularly liked the Cerbera LM edition... it's green and squat... remids me of a frog!

I have never had the chance to drive an Aston Martin in real life so it's hard to compare, however Mr Clarkson seems to like the new Vantage & Vanquish models.

Chicken? Ha ha, I never thought of that! It would be a hell of a lot more fun if the cars exploded, tho.

I actually have nothing against Aston Martins. If I had loads of cash and money was no option (in real life) I'd surely want to buy one. I don't care that they're heavy, but in the game it can be a real drag sometimes.

i recall playing chicken with other cars. racing around the tracks the wrong way and seeing who could cause the biggest crashes.

Didi the cars swerve to avoid you or stay on the line they were racing?

my favorite memory...

choosing sports tires or lightweight mod over turbo as the first upgrade = better race results :)

The best thing about GT is that it's not all about the power. I agree, messing with brakes, suspension, tires, that's more than half the fun and also a bit more vague. You KNOW if you strap that stage 3 turbo on you'll easily win certain races, but what if you don't? What if you just tweak your springs? Sometimes this makes all the difference.

I must confess I like the power and so most of my cars are setup the same. I have a standard setup for FF, FR, 4WD & MR but the difference is in the gear ratio's. I try to set the gears so that I have the max power running down the straight and reach top speed at the end of the straight or before braking for the corner.

My most favorite memory, of any of the GT games, was when i won a GT1 tournament in 1997. I was about 10 years old at the time and I had beaten 25 yr old adults w/ maxed out Skylines and everything and I won it all w/ my Dodge Concept Car.

Nothing wrong with power! But as you know I get bored quick if I don't spend at least a lap or 2 trying to fight off the competition with my driving skills. In enduros, I prefer to have myself battling against someone for the entire race if I can, tho sometimes you can't help but get far ahead. As far as my set-up goes: it varies from car to car. I personally can't stand understeer in higher-powered cars and I'll try and do whatever it takes to get rid of it! but I don't mind it in weaker cars, in fact for some FF cars I'll try to induce it to give me some idea what my limits are.

I keep a settings book, mostly for advanced races like the GT World Cup and enduros. It has the name of each car, the track, suspension settings, brake settings, downforce (if I had a race-modified car), engine power, aspiration, drivetrain parts, etc. This kinda stuff really comes in handy months after you've raced a car and need some help setting a similar machine up!

Hey Aurra, welcome to GT1! I'm kinda glad they didn't have Gran Turismo when I was 10, I would have been an F student all the way! My parents would've have to send me to military school to stay away from it. All we had back in those days was Pong, and I didn't actually see an Atari till I was 13...

It is amazing to see how far we've come from the 1st Atari to the PS3.

But my GT1 memory was using my 3000GT to defeat every race I could with it.
I loved that car.

It was the reason I got my 1st car as 3000GT. But mine, however, was a VR-4 model.

The 3000GT was a nice car although I always found it bounced if I clipped a kurb in it. I prefered the Nismo 400R though, wish I could get my hands on 1 in real life.

you're right. I remember using the 3000gt (GTO) for the toughest races. It may not handle like a dream, but for raw power, it can't be beat. Not even the LM cars can come close.

:dopey: thats crazy! altho i did kick a 30 year olds ass at road rash when i was about 9 :sly:

The best thing about GT1 was the Cerbera LM and the Skyline R32 LM(or whatever it was, it was red and white and was ballistic). Why the hell isn't Grand Valley East normal or reverse in GT3??????

Polyphony can't please everyone...

Its just as i was flinging round G Valley i kept seeing the tyre walls and tarmac leading to the East section, and as i progressed from an MX-5 milkfloat to my lovely R390 GT1 LM Race Car, i just wanted to relive old GT1 memories...............

Like u say Mr Bone, Polyphony can't please everyone!

Wrong car, I was talking about the TRD3000GT, not the Mitsubishi 3000GT which is the GTO in GT1.

ack. my mistake :)

No problem. You are right about the car, although I found the TT version to be heavy until after I had done all 3 weight changes. When it is fully modded it certainly flies although my Supra claimed top speed at the test track with 411Km/H.

It's GT1 that started it all for me. I have great memories when I first got it. :(

True i thought that GT2 wasn't as good as GT1. GT1 was my favourite game on the PS1. My favourite car in there was the dodge concept car (yellow or Purple) :)

I got ripped off at the car wash! 43 million carbucks to wash my Supra?

how the hell did you get into debt????!!!

i just relived some GT1 memories. i have the Feeder instrumentals on my PC now, finally, and they really give me that urge to throw a car around a track

The first Gran Turismo was a very special game for me, along with the GT3.

When I think of the first GT, I picture my favorite car, LM FTO on Special Stage R11. Those were the days..........

Interesting bug. I have never heard of that one before. Can you buy parts etc or do you need to clear the debt first?
