Looked around Maidenhead today, no-one is selling early. Woolworths have a price of £29.99 so if my Amazon order does not read dispatched by midnight tonight, I am cancelling it.

Actually, I'll probably buy from Woolies ('cause I have Thurs & Fri off work, coincidence by the way) and just return the Amazon one unopened under their 30 day return policy.

I think they have it ALL OVER THE PLACE!!!!! Here in Holland too, it already was sold-out!!!!!!! A shop called "Replay" had it, with a GT4 game already connected to a PS2 for advertising and showing how beautifull the game is!!!!!!!! Just go to a small shop you think may have ordered it too, because they get it just as quickly as all the other members here do And sell it right-away:drooooooooollllll:

Mother****, I went to some Dutch gamestore in Rotterdam as well today to see if they had it already, but they didn't get any yet. If I'd have been able to buy it today that would have been so great, but luck is something I never have. 👎

I went to my local Tesco and the chart had GT4 at number 1 but no game in the display - I asked a woman if they had any left and she opened a drawer full of them!!

That's my night sorted then! lol

My order from Gameplay was dipatched too so I now have 2!! lol

I got mine preordered with ukps2.com (Special Reserve), however if it isnt here when I get home weds night, I am straight up the road to Blockbusters in Oxted, Surrey, and I will be the owner of two copies lol ... I pre-ordered it from play.com and it's no longer in my list of pre-ordered items (which means it's been sent i think) but the date next to it says despatched 7th March. Not sure if this means they have sent it to arrive then or are sending it on the release date.

I got a phone call from my local Game today giving me my 'pre-order number' and telling me that they are opening at midnight on thursday to sell it to the people who have got preorders. But now I might just nip down to the Tesco Extra instead. I was going to part ex a load of games but I might not bother now.

Oh! The people who ordered it from Amazon, and are now pissed at there delayed delivery dates, Just remember that Amazon always operates like this, it's crap for pre-orders.

I have my copy of GT4 already, but only because I know the manager of our local Game strore (gave him money now, less 30% discount, and he'll put it through the tills on Wednesday, so no rules broken!) GT4 early, at a shade over £20 - bargain!

What I can't understand though, are the posts from people panicking that they aren't going to get their "pre-orders" delivered through their door on Wednesday.

The whole idea of pre-ordering is ludicrous - it's a scam that sucks people into giving the marketeers and store owners a much easier time in planning sales. I've never pre-ordered a game, ever, and have always either had the game on release date. Sure, some people might not live close to a store and may need to order on-line, but for me, it's a waste of time.

If you want to absolutely guarantee yourself a copy on release day, go to a store and buy a copy - there are hundreds of thousands to go around.

Oh, and I'm playing GT4 on a 17" widescreen LCD sat a couple of feet from it, with the Driving Force Pro as controller of choice, blessed with full surround sound - what an awesome experience!! I can see that for some of the more technical tracks at higher speeds I may need to resort to the pad for that extra bit of response, but you can't beet flying down the 4 mile traight in Le Mans at over 200mph - the wind, the drag, the wheel tugging away - AWESOME!!
