Gt4 Drift Video

I tried so hard to learn...but not so sucess.
I can do it in 1 or 2 corners, but drifting for the whole course....well it's a bit tough

BTW...in GT4 what tires do you guys use to drift?

I use sim tires. I'm not great or anything, but I can drift. Depending on the car, though, you may need a little more grip with higher powered cars.

Anyone else here drift Escudos? :sly: 900hp, of course...1800 would be unbearable. :)

i still havent been able to drift properly but N2s front and N1s rear..it feels very wierd. In RL do drifters use nice grippy tires in the front and cheap ones in the rear? Why would you want to destroy 200 dollar tires drifting?

Can anyone who reads Japanese find out what DFP settings do they use? Tires and Suspension? thanks

Actually, most professional drifters use the same tires all around. Not super sticky, but not cheap all season radials either. Somewhere in between.

Now, I know I don't have GT4 yet, but I can't see why it would be necessary to have different tires front and rear. Have the same tires all around. It's easier to tune and balance your car, not to mention that most techniques are EASIER with this setup.

Give it a shot. :)

I do understand that most Japanese drifters use Advan Neova AD07 Tyres. They are street tyres but just a grade lower than Semi Slicks like the A038.

I have also been trying to drift with the GT4 using Shingo's AE86 But just can't fine a way to initiate the drift properly. Maybe I should use a more powerfull car and see how it goes.

I do play Live For Speed and can drift pretty well there with different techniques and can even do kansai drifts. The physics are just SoOOOoOOoo different.

Oh well, happy experimenting.

Very cool videoes... i especially like the blue Supra with the gold rims. Looks awsome!! 👍

Can't wait to try it myself... but March 9th is such a long time to wait... IT AIN'T FAIR!!! :banghead:

I'm anticipating the english version as well... Even tho I'm chinese I suck at it =P

they wont work for me but i want to see them soooo bad. will anyone host them in a different format? one that does not require winzip!

can anyone confirm if there's a drift mode in gt4? i heard long time ago that they wanna put a drift competition in gt4, a d1gp type competition. so yeah havent heard it in a while. they probably cancelled it but just wanna make sure. thanks

I can easily initiate drift with DS2
but no way I can countersteer at correct angle
so I end up crashing most of the time
but doing with driving force, its easier to countersteer
however I am not fast enough to initiate drift with the wheel
doing rally race with rear wheel drive car is the best way to practise drift imo

thanks for the winrar advice. wow very good. very consistant and precise on most turns. i use slower cars when i drift. i think its more fun. i like the stock 300zx or a supra. im talking about gt3 of course. my favorite drift track it the tokyo circuit! whos with me? 👍

You know what I'm going to use to play GT4?

A Sony Playstation DualShock 2 Controller...

Do you guys seriously think spending $100 on a wheel is really worth it?

Maybe, I'd have to take it on a test run.

Does it really enhance the experience/fun that much?

Only problem is, I searched my entire house, and have NOTHING to mount it on to...

Well I would like to watch these videos but have no idea whatsoever what format they are in. Basically for me if windows media or quicktime can't run it, ,I'm not watching it.

Its a winrar format, extract it then watch with WMP.

wheel does a big different
you can get the feedback from the front wheel
it tells you where it wants to head
this information simulate real car physics
so things you learn from drift bible or from Nomura (the monkey dude)
you can apply the technique to GT4 with the wheel
it also works with live for speed 👍
although I only have driving force not pro, it still performs very nicely

its all about suspension. i have an older rx7 bathrust with 265hp, that car is OVER STEER heaven. Very easy to power over to initiate a drift( on street tires N3s ). I also purchased a newer version of the Rx7 and that monkey wont power over at all, i have to feint to TRY and initiate the drift.

Man, I have GOT to get my wheel set up.

Anyone can confirm that even the 1st gen wheels replay with the steering wheel graphic?

Cheers.

It does. The only thing is that the animated wheel only turns 180 degrees.

Boy, those guys at Overdrift are nuts...

I only used it on GT4:P and i already think i've had my $100 of fun out of it!

I agree with Ares. It depends on how much of an enthusiest are you. I would think that spending 1.5k USD on Jun stage 3 cams are worth it for my ride but you might think that I'm nuts coz I can get more power spending that money on a customised turbo kit and have more power.

If u like it bro, buy it.

For me, I'm still sticking with the old wheel until the new ones reach where I live.

I'll buy it for sure tho.

Sooooo no-one knows what this is:

I can't see it anywhere in GT, although it would help if I knew it's name....
